Could you drive with your cats over the US border, and then fly to your final destination?

Like the others, I doubt very much you will have an issue with your visa, but driving over might be a way to come before the 30 days is up.

Edit:  maybe airlines have the same rabies requirements for cats on domestic flights?  I have never flown with a pet.

Not really an option for me to drive from here to whichever boarder is opened then take a domestic flight to Chicago. Would be a lot easier with the luggage and the cats though. I was honestly worried about the boarders closing for a period of time and not allowing anyone in or out of the u.s. I seem to have figured it out though, thanks for taking the time to read and share your input!

When does your visa expire? I thought cats didn't need to be vaccinated to travel; only dogs? Personally if the animals need 30 days I would wait for the animals to be ready to travel because nothing is more important to me than my pets. But that's a personal decision; of course there is always a risk borders will closed but a positive is that you will be immigrating and I haven't seen that category of people be barred from the US.

It expires on September 11. The airline I'll be traveling through requires cats and dogs to get their rabies vaccination. Accompanied  by a health certificate as well. Pretty sure it's like that for most airlines, not too sure though. Yes! Exactly. That's how I feel about my pets. The thought of leaving them behind breaks my heart. 🥺. The category for my visa wasn't barred from entering the u.s, but with the increase in cases they might go for a second lock down barring anyone from going in and out.  (Not sure, just speculation.)

  3. Hey guys. I recently got my visa issued on July 8. I have plans to travel on August 11. A direct flight from Durango, Mexico to Chicago, IL. I've been getting scared lately because I don't know if I'm waiting too long to go back. I wouldn't want the boarders to close by the end of July or beginning of August. I have two cats, one is 1yr and the other one is 4 months. I recently vaccinated them for rabies so I have to wait at least 30 days before I can take them with me. I wouldn't want to leave my cats here as I wouldn't know when I could come back to pick them up in the stream of this pandemic 😕. Should I leave my fur babies with a relative here and travel within the week or the next or wait to travel next month? What do you guys think?

Hello...are we talking of a USA citizen filling for minor or permanent resident filling for a minor? I thought petition for minors or a resident takes longer than petition of USA citizen.

Are you a USA citizen or resident fillingfor minors?

USA citizen filing for minor. My stepdad is the citizen and I’m the minor he’s petitioning. A USA resident petitioning a minor does indeed take longer.

My son's IR2 cases was approved, however the interview informed us that there was hold from DOS in Washington because a previously  "cancelled without prejudice"  non-immigrant visas we applied. How long does it take for the hold to be removed? Should we contact the US Consult?

Hello! Congratulations on the approvals, yay! 🎈 Have you heard anything regarding the hold? I honestly have no idea when the hold would be removed. Calling the consult is a good idea. Goodluck! :)

How long is the process for i-130 start of application to the approval by USCIS for family/ minor child of a  green card holder/permanent resident before NVC stage?

NOA1...October 2018 and still waiting on approval from USCIS.

My I-130 petition took approximately 10 months to get approved by USCIS. You have been waiting quiet a while now though, I’d say not to get too alarmed. Everything is taking forever these days. But if it were me I’d definitely call USCIS and ask them why it’s taking so long. What if it’s already been approved? There’s a very big chance of that. Goodluck! :)

After having 2 RFEs at NVC I was ready to be scheduled lol...but it’s for my son so I’m ready to be with him just worried about language barrier but have asked for interpreter and they agreed so now I’m just ready to buy the flight tickets as soon as he gets his visa....he is 7 years old

My case at the NVC was a nightmare too. I had some AOS documents rejected like 3 times which held me back 4-5 months. Not to mention that the lawyer on my case wasn't any help at all. And then I've been reading that it's taking 5-9 months to get an interview scheduled in Mexico. 😖

I can't say for sure, but I think that they won't ask too many questions in your son's case since it's a CR-2. I had a friend who also went through the same process when he was younger ( less than 15 yrs old at the time ) and he said that they asked like 1 or 2 questions before he got approved right away. I wish you the best of luck! ❤️

  8. Hiya everyone! So this is super random, but I haven't really seen many people who're independently looking after their CR2/IR2 cases/petitions. With a CR2/IR2 being for an unmarried child of a U.S. citizen who is under the age of 21.  As which you would also file a I-130. I was just curious to know if there are people out there like me. Most cases that have a CR2/IR2 involved are usually younger kids whose petition's were sent in along with their parent[parent's]. Usually when I'm having quiet a bit of confusion with the NVC I would always have to primarily look into the CR1/IR1 category which isn't really the same thing as a CR2/IR2 visa. Anyway! If anyone has a similar case to mine please join this discussion! Or if there is someone out there who's having a bit of trouble with their case[cases] join the discussion as well! I've made it as far as to have a CC ( case completed ) and currently waiting for an interview, I'd be more than happy to help in any way that I can. 😊

  9. Hello everyone! So USCIS sent my petition to the NVC on October 5th, 2018. NVC received my petition on October 16th. And then they entered my petition
into their system on November 13th. I payed the IV fee on November 19th and the AOS fee on November 21st. My lawyer completed the DS-260 and right after that she submitted all
the required documentation to the NVC on November 29th. Long story short NVC rejected some documents 3 times in a row. Good news though... they finally decided to
accept all of the documents on January 30th, 2019. BUUUUUUUT, they also decided to send me two more messages on CEAC stating that they still needed more additional documentation.
First message read "Additional support documentation is required. Please submit proof of #######'s current employment. For more information, visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos".
Second message read "Additional support documentation is required. Please upload and submit ######'s and ######'s 2017 IRS transcript. A transcript can be obtained on the IRS's website:
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript. If a tax transcript was not required to be filed, submit an explanation for not filing."
Now, once I read these messages I went batshit crazy thinking "How long can one possibly be stuck with the NVC?" "When will this nightmare be over?". Naturally I contacted my
lawyer and I told her all about it ( she has other cases to attend to, not just mine. So therefor I'm always the first to get a hold of all the information first until I contact her)
She said she'd get back to me on more information about this. I waited and waited and 9 days later on Feburary 8th she contacted me and told me that our next move would be to ignore their
request's because apparently the NVC had made a mistake and that sooner or later they would notice their mistake and send us the "Case completed" email/letter. She said that we should wait at least
5-7 working days. So it's been 6 days today since the waiting had begun. And honestly I'm super confused and agitated at the whole ordeal. I don't know if my lawyer is correct or if we should definitely send in the additional documentation that they've asked for? What do you guys think? Any opinions, any help, any tips? I'm so stressed out about this whole thing I just want to go back home to my cats. Ya feel? Any help would be appreciated to the fullest. ❤️

  10. Hey you guys! I got my welcome letter on November 14th, 2018. I paid my AOS fee's on November 19th and my IV fee November 21st. My lawyer also submitted in all of the required paperwork on November 28th-29th 2018. NVC reviewed the documents on December 11th, 2018. There were 3 documents that were not sent in correctly. So the lawyer had to resubmit them once more (UGH). She did this today December 17th, 2018. Now we wait so NVC can review the documents once more. Sorry I haven't kept ya'll updated, I've been so busy! I'll let you guys know when I get an Interview scheduled. Please keep me updated on your cases! Much luck to both!!

my case has been transfer to NVC by today thank you ^_^

@stayreals have you called the NVC? i called today and they told me that my petition was processed on October 16th ( but was sent to the NVC october 5th ). i still haven’t gotten my invoice number ( welcomed letter ) yet either. you should call and see if your case will be processed faster by calling. i’m going to call twice a day now just to annoy them so my welcomed letter can get here faster 😂

  12. @stayreals I suggest that you email James Mccament and Donald Neufeld personally. My case has already been sent to the NVC as of today. Now I’m waiting for the fee bills to get here to pay them and then we’re sending out packet three. I don’t know if me emailing them had anything to do with my case moving forward but it seemed to help. I do hope that this helps you as well! Please do let me know when your case has been sent to the NVC. If it hasn’t been sent in the next couple of days or weeks let me know and I will try to help you with whatever I find around the web that’s useful these days. This is Donald Neufeld’s email. Donald.W.Neufeld@uscis.dhs.gov and this is James Mccament’s email. james.w.mccament@uscis.dhs.gov

    ¡Good luck! :)

  13. Hello everyone!

My I-130 petition was approved on July 31st of 2018. It still hasn’t been sent to the NVC. I sent an email to NVCINQUIRY on September 10 asking them for information about my case thinking that maybe they had already received my petition. ASKNVC responded on Sep. 17 saying that they didn’t have any record of receiving my petition. Then said that if it’s been more than 6 weeks after my petition was approved to send them a scanned copy of my I-797 to NVCRESEARCH to which I did. On Sep. 28 NVCRESEARCH emailed me back telling me that the NVC had contacted USCIS in regards to my approved petition. Then proceeded to say that USCIS has informed them that my petition was currently STILL located at the Potomac Service Center ( PSC ) because the PSC was still performing clerical functions to date. Lastly it said that the PSC will send the petition to NVC after the review was completed to which they of course don’t give exact dates to when that will be. I emailed Donald Neufeld , James Mccament and one of Chicago’s Congressman about the delay at the Potomac Service Center ( PSC ). Should I be worried or am I overreacting about the delay? Any tips or help would come a long way! Thanks everyone for “hearing” me out. :)
