Thank you! I will do that 😁

I’m a US citizen, my husband is applying for adjustment of status. We got our interview letter in the mail, it’s asking to provide the same information as I have already provided with the original application and with the application for I-130. Do i still bring them to the interview? Some of the things were indicated as if applicable. Bring everything just in case?

Wow. Ok.......
"What valid visa does your husband have at the moment" doesn't sound like an irrelevant question to the process, but at the end of the day, it's up to you to learn more about the rules (or not).
Good luck with your immigration journey.
You might have meant well, but I wasn’t looking for comments about my husbands immigration status. I had specific questions and lots were commenting unrelated to my questions.
Good luck to you as well!

You must file with updated forms, as using outdated ones results in the whole packet being rejected.
Your husband must go through the whole medical again as USCIS requires the form I-693 to be signed by a civil surgeon no more than 60 days before filing the petition.
Thank you! I will do new forms and get the medical form as well.

I think the misunderstanding is probably about the "valid visa" part. Let's say a visitor has a visa that expires on May 2024. In each entry, he or she is granted 6 months of stay.
If he/she overstays, the visitor Visa is no longer valid because they violated the terms of their visa. The expiration date will continue to be May 2024 but that is now immaterial.
So maybe what the previous post wanted to know was, what valid visa does your husband have at the moment, since his visitor Visa was voided the moment he overstayed?
None of this pertains to my original question!! Why is this so hard to follow??

Actually, you HAVE commited a crime. Just because you disclosed it on your N-400, doesn't mean it isn't a crime.
I ACTUALLY haven’t committed a crime, so unless you are commenting on my original question please move on to another topic!
he has a valid visa! And his immigration status was fully disclosed in both applications.

If his visa has expired or he has overstayed, providing him with a place to live, food to eat and money to spend is assistance. You have aided and abetted in the commission of a federal crime.
If you failed to disclose the situation, not only can your citizenship be denied, you can have your green card revoked.
If this is the case I would suggest you get an attorney IMMEDIATELY as this is not a DIY situation. Both of you have everything to lose.
Thank you for your concern, as I stated before I already became a citizen AND fully disclosed my husbands immigration status on my N-400. And I haven’t committed a crime.
This isn’t part of my question, and I’m not sure why you or the other guy can’t seem to understand that?

And "Yes" answer to "Have you EVER committed, assisted in committing, or attempted to commit, a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested?"
VJ TOS: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=terms
My husband had a valid visa. How did I commit a crime or assist him in committing a crime?
I gave the USCIS full disclosure in both applications.

Just to clarify. You sent I-130 with I-485. They returned I-485 because the priority date wasn't current but they kept and processed the I-130?
They didn't send the I-130 to his home country's embassy? I'd suggest to file I-485 and its documents asap. I don't know what status he's on right now but the sooner you get this mailed the better. Yes you may have to redo a lot of forms and the medical but that's better than getting rejected for outdated forms. Remember you can also do the medical after you file and bring it to the interview so that could buy some time if you're tight with money right now.
Thank you that helps.
yes the I-485 was rejected because of the priority date.
my husband is in the US.

Was the 8 U.S. Code § 1324 harboring explicitly disclosed on the N-400 and/or the interview? https://www.justice.gov/jm/criminal-resource-manual-1907-title-8-usc-1324a-offenses
I disclosed my husbands immigration status on my N-400 and the I-130 application was submitted long before I applied to become a US citizen.
Nothing was asked during the interview.
Satisfied?
Please move on unless you’re answering my initial questions.

I would fill out the form and submit again. To make sure you have the newest edition.
As for the medical, I'll let more knowledgeable people answer. I believe you should redo it. Why did you do it so early when you knew you couldn't adjust his status yet?
Also on what basis did you file I-131? Did you already file the I-130 while you were an LPR? What's his status right now?
Just a little bit about myself. I was a LPR when I married a tourist visa overstayer. Two years after that I naturalized and the same day I sent in I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765, I-693 and I-864. The application was approved and he received a 10 year green card. Not ideal as ICE could have picked him up in those two years so I would definitely not recommend this.
For the medical, I wasn't aware we couldn't file for adjustment of status until priority date.
I'm sorry, I meant to say we filed for the I-130. I was a green card holder and my husband came on a tourist visa.

We applied for my husbands 131 and it was recently approved. Our initial application was based family sponsorship and I wasn't a US citizen yet. I recently took the oath and we are getting ready to submit the adjustment of status for my husband. I have a 2 part question.
1. When we submitted the 131 we thought we could file the 485 at the same time and weren't aware of the priority date requirements. When the application was returned it had a letter attached asking to re-submit when priority date became available. The forms that we filled out had an expiration date of 2017(the forms were printed from USCIS on April 2018), but now the form has been updated. Can we use the forms that previously filled or do I need to print and fill out again?
2. Medical form was completed in March of 2018, would my husband need an updated medical assessment? He hasn't left the US since completing the medical assessment. Trying to avoid having to pay another set of fees as this is expensive.
Thank you in advance for your help :).

I had my interview this morning and the officer said he has approved my application. Also said I should have my oath ceremony in two weeks or so.
On on another note what happened to the Dallas field office thread for n-400? It just disappeared. Anyone else in that group?

Finally got my interview date scheduled for 8/12. Dallas field office is finally moving 😁

I submit my N400 online: 8/7/2018, I had my fingerprint 1 month later. Until now, I don't hear anything from USCIS, still wait
How much people have N400 online on Aug still wait?
My field office is in Dallas and my estimated completion time says 20 more months to go. So yes a lot of us still waiting depending on your field office.

Oh no I hope sooner that 2 years. It said 12 months but I should see a interview by March I hope.
No the two years is for me, not you. Dallas has one of the slowest processing times. My application said the estimated processing time would be 25 months.

Yep perfectly normal. Just their way of saying we are still processing so don’t panic and call us for an update.
I’m out of Dallas and I keep seeing these every two weeks or so. This will go on for a year or two.
so hang tight 😊

Hi guys,
I’m a lurker from August 2018 board. I noticed there’s a username by CJ777 from Dallas field office. He was approved within 3-4 of application, do you guys know how it was that quick?
current wait times for interviews are 18-24 months.

I've been practicing the 100 questions using home made flashcards (using index cards) and after going through them many times a day and gradually reducing the number of self testing times each day I have managed to get to a place where I feel confident about all of them. It took about a month of daily practice.
I have my citizenship application paperwork in a folder and my passports, GC and other ID are all ready. I personally don't think I have anything to worry about with regards to the reading and writing part being English I should sail through that part.
I'm going to be nervous on the day I know, but at the same time I think I have little to be concerned about. I'm actually more nervous about driving through Cleveland and finding my pre-paid parking first thing in the morning.
I would like to wish everyone on here a happy and successful next few months with your applications. This website has been a blessing through this process. Is there a way I/we can support it through a donation maybe? This part has been relatively easy compared to the I-30 and finding out what to do right in the beginning when you have no idea what to do and the USCIS website is just pages and pages and pages of words.
Good luck 👍🏼

If u r not a US citizen ...then it will be forwarded to CSC...LRP takes about 2yrs and during that period if u become US citizen u can upgrade your petition...but for now CSC is your base
I’m not a US citizen yet, so I guess that why it ended up in CSC. I do have the N-400 pending so hopefully it will be moved closer.

Anyone approved from California? Live in Texas but application was sent to California for some reason.

The vaccine isn’t available for everyone yet. Unless your in 1B category you won’t be able to get the vaccine until it is opened up for the rest of the population. Not all seniors have gotten their vaccine yet, or people with pre-existing health conditions. Based on what the President is saying vaccine might be available in May to everyone.
