Hopefully, the way you did it will work for you and I hope your approval comes soon. We're both at Vermont, and it seems to be moving!

Thank you, but since we have NOA + Expiring GC we are totally fine for 24 months.  Because anyways most of ROC filers eventually will file for citizenship next year and most likely both cases will be approved at the same time. Hopefully it will take us less than 24 months.

I do remember your mentioning that and appreciate that you took the time to share it. Lawyers are known for making mistakes with immigration issues. If you look around this site enough you'll see mistake after mistake that lawyers have made.

I hope you understand that he can’t make same mistakes for 30 years. Anyways, do not please tell to people about possible RFEs or delay because you stress them out and this is not good. Especially nothing they can do at this time when everything is shipped. They have a lot to stress out except that. 👏

We Mailed out I751 packed Wednesday October 13th through USPS. Arrived Friday October 15th. Received Text message today they opened it. Waiting for them to cash the check.

I am now worried as we only put our recent bank statements for our checking and savings account rather than multiple statements. We did include our tax returns from 2019 and 2020 and other bills like car insurance, life insurance, medical insurance and the newly purchased deed to our new home.  We also have letters from 4 friends and pictures. Do you guys think its okay we didn't include more bank statements since we have other evidence of us being in a relationship?

It will not affect your approval and it won’t delay your approval. All is good! Because you have other serious evidence, for example life insurance. I don’t have that however it doesn’t mean anything. I have my own unique evidence, like multiple trips to exotic destinations or something even more precious, etc.

Those statements are just some part of evidence. Some couples do not have them at all. Do not worry about it please.

To suggest sending only recent statements is not the best advice and could result in an RFE. I realize you and I have already discussed this. I'm really stating this for anyone else who might read this and think they only need to send the latest statements. USCIS saw our statements during AOS, too. That was in 2019, almost two years ago. They want to see ongoing evidence for the whole time. Of course, every petition will be different, but there are "rules" in that they want to see the entire history of the marriage. Hopefully, the way you did it will work for you and I hope your approval comes soon. We're both at Vermont, and it seems to be moving!

I never suggest to send only recent statements, all I’m saying: to send all 2019-2021 statements is not obligatory.

And yes, I do not think it’s right to tell people that they may receive RFE for not sending 24 statements. Because as I was saying: every couple is sending their own tailored package of evidences. And there are no rules.

Thank you for that reply, I appreciate it! The unique thing with our case is that my wife got her green card literally on the day we closed on our new house (living with my parents before) so pretty much everything with the purchase of the home is in my name since she her “legality” as a US resident hadn’t been approved yet. I’m now going back to our utility companies to have her name put on and hopefully that will help. (I’m not submitting in October, btw, but I’m trying to keep tabs for when I start building our package). Thanks for the insight and help!

So in your case it’s probably critical to add her name since you guys have a new address now. Even though I don’t really think those statements are a big deal for USCIS.

Big deal is Verizon detailed statements (cellular providers I mean), your joint account movement, boarding passes and hotel bookings altogether with photos. Affidavits from people with reputation. The will if you have one. Insurances. Everything basically.

Just now I realized my husband paid a lot for my education and I didn’t send this evidence to them. Whatever, as we all mentioned already: it’s never enough  evidence 😂

We sent several Electric bills, spanning the time we've been married. It was the only utility to which I was able to add his name. We did send statements from our joint account, one for each quarter and the most recent. Again, it's important that they see activity in that account for the span of your marriage.  I've read again and again that it's important to include every page of each statement, including blank ones. Sending multiple months worth of evidence from these accounts shows them that you have been truly comingling your finances and you didn't just throw something together for the sake of ROC.

But in our case for example they saw all that in 2018 for the same address when we went through AOS. So… doesn’t really make any sense to send all of that again. So I guess latest 2021 statements good enough. Honestly if you call to Spectrum or ConEd and ask to add someone’s name it’s so easy…🤷🏻‍♀️

Bank Statements make more sense however it’s the same joint account same bank same address… as in 2018…so… 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Of course they don’t keep our data probably but May be they do 👍🙄

Some people do not have joint account at all so what? Lol

That is why I really think It’s really “your own” tailored bunch of evidence you are sending them and there are no rules. It depends on what you have and your own situation and relationship. IMHO. USCIS give you a lot of options how to provide them with the evidence you have. Everything matters, past, present.. They are so professional I feel like whatever ideal evidence you provide them with they know who is honest and who is not 🤣

Sure I’ll do that, you didn’t fill in the Service Centre though.

Also you guys should add additional column Weight Of The Package 📦 Sent 🤣🤣🤣

mine is not the lightest one 5 lbs (laughing but serious 😁). That’s because of my photo books not the bank statements. At least entertaining and not boring 😄

Thanks! Was supposed to be a September filer but had to wait on some docs. Saw you are an EAC filer, me too 🤗. Hope, the biometrics follows soon and hope we all don’t have to wait too long to get an approval.

And me too 🤗 Just got a text ♥️

USCIS:  Your case was received. Receipt # EAC…. Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) to follow in mail. Msg & Data rates may apply. DO NOT REPLY

Every case is different and it all depends on who you get. But it was super easy for us to compile all our paperwork because we have online banking so we just printed them out.  You can def travel outside the country when you get your GC, we just didn’t because of our work and plus travel restrictions becasue of Covid.
All we can do now is wait

Also have online banking of course but do not have a printer. I asked assistant to print out the rest of the stuff. Still need that goddamn little printer to buy in our apartment.

Europe was accessible for us to travel (we have parents in Europe), but I know that Brazil and maybe some other countries were not…

That’s crazy long! I’m surprised you didn’t get the 10 year.  I know ppl who applied for AOS, that took long (they got approved closer to their two year marriage mark) and they got their 10 year GC instead.  We had applied in July and got our interview and approval in December. I’m hoping it is the same this time around because we wanted to travel early on but with Covid we haven’t been able to visit our family or friends outside the country.

We actually started early this time around. January we started collecting all our previous statements for all our joint accounts and then September we did the all the recent ones and the affidavit letters. Was a big package but we just wanted to try and avoid an RFE
The wait is just nerve racking especially when you don’t see any updates for long periods of time.

Well that’s so amazing and I’m really happy for those who got their 10 year GCs. Unfortunately not me, even if I consider ourselves as a super solid couple 🙄😬

As for traveling out of the country for us it was always possible because when you are a citizen or spouse of the citizen it was always possible. No matter what country it is.

I was collecting my bank statements however they are coming from my credit cards but not the joint checking account which I never used. However I asked those in the bank and they can see it’s always funds on that account and some movement every month. Additionally I enclosed my real bank statements with all the transactions.

I am super relaxed because I am confident and anyways nothing we can do at this point. Still think that to ask us for 24 bank statements is insane, I just didn’t want to bother the bank employee 🤣

Overall to travel with the NOA extension letter for 24 months or with the GC doesn’t really make a huge difference. Passport is a major difference…..

I agree, we're both very busy to do this whole process, but, I just decided to sit down and get through with it. Let's hope they go through it quick. *fingers crossed*

Lucky wife lol, hubby is in charge 😬 As for your fast AOS journey you probably expedited it as you guys applied for Infopass for Emergency AP. And the case jumped into another timeline.

  14. 36 minutes ago, march16filer said:

Surprisingly, our AOS journey was 7 months and we were very lucky to get the interview early on. We were supposed to file last August as well, but, we have been dragging our feet and finally got ourselves to do it this week. Took me a couple weeks of work to get all the evidence and put it together. Hopefully, this process isn't too long. If it is, we can always file for Naturalization next August and that forces them to adjudicate the ROC.

Lucky you with the AOS. I forgot already lol is it Adjustment of Status when they issue you a GC after interview? So I think we filed for AOS in April or May 2018 and got invitation only in October 2019.

As for the ROC, life is too busy in nyc and I had no time in August and September, however I started put it up together in July. At least asked my dear friends for the affidavits.

You and I are both in NY. let's keep each other informed because I know our service center always suck!

Here I am another New Yorker lol, I sent my package yesterday and joining you guys.

Hoping it doesn’t suck as much this time. Package was delivered yesterday so hoping they start working on it soon because I haven’t gotten a notification yet.

Lol, that was rough indeed, it took us almost two years to finally get an invitation for an interview… So I wasn’t even inspired to file my ROC in August … and even in September.. Finally pushed myself to do it in October 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

  16. 5 minutes ago, Joyoussinger said:

The affidavits are optional and, again, not the best evidence. I sent two, only because I have family members who really wanted to write them! 😀

Why not when it comes to serious people indeed. As for photos I ordered photo books directly from my Google account so it’s not just photos but life events like cookouts with friends, trips to Caribbean with tickets, beach days and outings with same friends who wrote affidavits. Spent $200 on them 😄🙏

That sounds like a request for an RFE. There are people who have gotten one because the evidence didn't go back far enough. They really want to see evidence that spans the entire marriage.  If you only send the most recent stuff, it looks like you did at the last minute for the green card. This list has good evidence (photos are not good evidence, but can be helpful), but that evidence needs to show that your lives were truly comingled for the entire time.

He also told me I do not need affidavits from friends but I sent three 😄 He is super pro, works for many years.

I’m not the one who can tell anything, let’s see! Everything depends on a particular list of documents and particular case. 😄🙏
