Jay, anything about Donna's visa yet ?
Donna has not received a call form AirPak. She called them eariler this week. They told her to check back on Tuesday. She will be calling me as soon as she finds out something. I'll let you know.
-
How about this...the ds230 i mailed to chris yesterday via DHL at 1:30 pm reached him just now! what one day...im pretty amazed at the service
Yay! Let's hope AirPak is as fast getting that visa to Marlon!
Have you or Marlon called AirPak? Perhaps he can go to the office to pick up the visa in person.
Donna was on the phone all day today trying to get someone at AirPak to answer the phone. Finally about 4pm a guy at AirPak answered her call. He told her to check back Tuesday. Donna told me that the lights came on today for her there in Kingston. She had water yesterday.

What time is Jay & Donna's appointment.....does anyone know?
Their time was the same as Marlon's! I can't wait to hear from Jay and Kim!
Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes, they helped!
Air-Pak told Marlon 4-6 days so not gonna book that ticket until he has his visa in hand! I am hoping he can be here next week!
Empress: I was screaming too when he told me! lol
Yes, we are through also. Marlon is a nice guy. I'm glad Donna and I were able to meet him. We were interviewed at the same time and ended up at Air-Pak at the same time. The whole process once inside the Embassy took less than an hour! We were out of the embassy about 8:50am. We arrived and stood in line at 6:30. We were doing good until they found Donna's cell phone. She had to go back outside and rejoin the line while I went down to the interview area to wait. It wasn't long and we were back together and finished. There were only a few questions that Donna and myself were asked at Window 3. They asked us for our own personal information. Donna was asked for her phone number and I was asked for mine.
We have just had a portrait made and using the computer at an internet cafe here in Kingston. Thank you everyone for your help these past months and for everyone's prayers this past few days. VJ helps but it is God who saw us through so easily.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Check out this link....and let me know what you think...
There is a lot of truth here, go Jamaican!

Minfay,
that's exactly what I am fearing. Him going wait til the last minute and then them going tell him they don't have appointments available in time. Yesterday was the last time I talking to him about it. And I goin tell him not to call me unless is to pick up the money from western union to buy my ticket. I cant manage all a dis stress.
him can lally gag and soon come all he wants...afta a nuh my visa
I called and made an appointment for Donna from the States. Donna works a lot of hours and can't hold on the phone waiting. She lives in Kingston with two places to go for the visa medical. So, I called both places and made two appointments about a week apart. That way if she missed the first one there was another already scheduled.
Jay,
How long did it take for Donna to get the No Impediment to Marriage form?
She received it in the mail the following week. I believe a lot of prayer helps. Something arriving through the mail in Jamaica in a week is a miracle. She also went to Spanish Town for this form. I hope to meet Marlon in a few days.

Don't worry yourself to much Jay. I hope you enjoy Jamaica.
Ditto Jay don't sweat the small stuff enjoy your trip. You will be a okay!!!
Thank you, I feel better. Last night I told Donna that this time next week this interview will be behind us.

Two more days and I'll be in the air flying to Kingston. I am retyping the DS-156 after finding a typo. What is the correct entry for the "State/Province" box? The sample shows the City in this box. I repeated the city in this box and now wonder if maybe I should put "None" or just leave it blank? I’m a perfectionist so all these form seem to be taking me forever to finish.

I have been organizing my documents for the interview next Tuesday. Will I need two original letters from my employer and two from my bank? Am I going to be OK with the one of each that I now have?
-
So funny, i was just there a couple months ago and I can't remember showing my ticket...I just showed my passport I think I maybe losing my mind
When I left in January Donna was not allowed to walk in with me even to the ticket counter which is just inside the door. I'll ask next week when I arrive. My concern with printing an itinerary out is getting it to Donna. I don't want to spend $30 to FedEx it to her.
You could fax it, Jay. Andre went to some place in Montego Bay and picked up faxes I sent to him. It cost him like $1.50 a page.
Thanks for all the good suggestions. So it sounds like it is less expensive to buy tickets on-line here in the States. Are tickets purchased in Jamaica that much more in cost?

not to mention the september interviews including mine
Good luck ladies you're all in my thoughts
Ladies? Am I the only guy on the Yardie post at this time? Just kidding. I do have a question. How do you plan on getting an airline ticket to your Jamaican SO? I know at the Kingston airport a person can't enter the building without a ticket or boarding pass. Donna is not that proficient on the computer. Should she go to a travel agent there in Kingston to purchase her ticket?

It is stories like this that make me take a step back and thank God Andre is no longer there. Happens everywhere, I know; but seems to be way too frequently in JA.
Donna mentioned to me the other night not to wear orange or green when I come for the interview because of the elections this month. Sometimes people get shot for wearing the opposing party's color. Nomination Day is Aug. 7th and Election Day is on Aug. 27th. I pray these elections come and go without violence. I hope to have Donna here by that time.

Congrats Kimmy!
I too have been thinking of you all day! My heart feels lighter now that you have been approved!
Now interview list for upcoming dates: (add your info)
FutureMrs (Marlon) ~ 08/14/2007 @ 7:30am
We're on for 8/14 at 7:30 am as well.
We'll be there also, Lord willing. Two weeks before our interview and I came across this (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=1872aca797e63110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=fe529c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD). Georgia K-1 Petitions now go to Vermont. The I-129F is now $455.

Good luck on the interview tomorrow!
Marlon's is 2 weeks from tomorrow, I am still waiting for him to get the mail!
Also congrats on the real September interview dates!
Sonshyne congrats on the AOS NOA1!
*sigh*
Not much else here, just debt. Considering bankruptcy. Other than that, work, work, work!
Look into away not to file bankruptcy Sarah. I know its tough but I always recommend Dave Ramsey. He has a radio show and I have viewed a lot of his books. It helped me get on track until hubby arrived. All the best with what you do Sarah.
This is good advice, Sara. Check out the Dave Ramsey's web site: http://www.daveramsey.com. He has a way of making the impossible seem possible. Soon I'll be in line at the embassy with your SO.

How many passport pictures are needed for the interview? I know that it is four for the medical. Is it two for the interview?
Packet 3 states to bring 6 color, matte finish, 2 inch square, on white or off-white background photographs. For the police report I've read somewhere that 2 are required. For the medical 4 passport style photos are needed. Donna went last week and had 12 passport photos made for all this.

Quick Question:
For those of you that are filing the CR/IR visas when did you add your spouse to your medical plan? I'm looking into adding my husband but can't find out if I can still add him now or do I have to wait until open enrollment?
I'm filling K-1, but after we're married, I will add Donna to my medical plan at work. Most plans allow for "Family/Life Status Changes" before open enrollment. These changes can be marriage, divorce, birth, death, etc.. Check with your human resources people. I do not think you will have a problem adding your husband at this time.

I made an appointment for Donna's medical this morning. She is to go in at 7:30am on July 25th (Medical Associates). I received the Wachovia bank letter Wednesday in the mail. Donna went by the embassy yesterday to pick up Packet 4. Just 4 more weeks till I'm there with her making final preparations for the interview.
-
So, hubby went for his medical yesterday and was only charged $7800 JA what a difference from $80US plus addt'l $9000 JA I was quoted....he only got 2 shots and he had no immunization card
Which hospital did he go to? Donna will be calling tomorrow to set up an appointment.
-
Jay Donna,
What bank to do you use? $25 dollars is kinda steep for a letter. I have Wachovia and I had to get a letter when I brought my house and it was no charge. Hopefully they won't charge for this letter.
I use Wachovia, also. The guy there had me fill out a form that was made for visa applicants. After I filled it out he took it and told me the letter would come to me in the mail. He did not take any money from me while I was in there. Maybe the money will come out of my checking account?

FYI- Tel3advantage has phone log online. I'm spending the day at work printing all 60 pages. It seems to be that I joined in Feb 2005. So i have over 5000 calls. I've decide to still put together a binder just because I'm usually unorganized and I want to at least seem organized.
I was doing the same thing this morning. I also use Tel3 advantage. I only need copies of phone charges since Feb. when I sent in the I129. I went to the bank yesterday to get a letter from them. They charged me $25 for the letter.

Does anyone have the link to the thread about the locations for the medical exams? It so funny how i never really paid any attention to it. I tried to search...but I'm coming up short.
Hey here yah go.
Hey I did a search, this may help..This was posted some time ago
Because of the way the info was formatted, it's a little scrambled and I'm trying to unscramble it. This is what I got:
MoBay Hope Medical Centre
Half Moon Shopping Village
Rose Hall, Montego Bay
(876)926-7401-3 (I'll assume that means 7401, 7402 and 7403)
US$95 for adults
Andrews Memorial Hospital
27 Hope Road
Kingston 10
(876)953-3981
US$90 for adults
Dr. Michael Banbury
Medical Associates Hospital
18 Tangerine PI
St. James
Kingston 10
(876)908-2123
US$80 for adults
The numbers for first two places need to be swapped with each other (for MoBay Hope Medical Centre - 876-953-3981 and for Andrews Memorial Hospital - 876-926-7401-3). Packet 3 states that the medical examination must be scheduled "at least 10-14 days prior to the date of your visa interview."

MyDestiny- Thanks...for the response. My fiance is stressing out. He has tried to call them this morning and the phone lines are tied up. So he's calling me complain about how the call isn't going through. Not to mention that he still has not received Packet 3. So I will be calling the embassy today...and begging them to please let him pick them up. Packet 4 was sent out on the 27th but he hasn't received it.
If you getting married at the justice of peace, does a witness need to come along?
Donna's Certificate of No Impediment took about one and one half weeks to come through the mail to her house (Spanish Town to Kingston).
Hey Jay;
Can you tell me the procedure you have to go through to get the No Impediment and the cost of the document?
I talked with Donna last night. She told me that the No Impediment was $5500 JD. He will need his birth certificate. Donna also took her passport which they did not ask to see. Donna went to the general registra's office in Spanish Town. She said the gate opens at 6am for people to get a ticket. She was there at 8am and her ticket number was a little over a hundred. So, getting there early will save a lot of waiting time.

Do you know if we need the appointment letter to set up the medical exam?
I am not sure. I would like to know that myself.

Try again Monday. There is a lady at the embassy who is a little rude. She does not answer every time so try calling back. Also when you mail in your DS230, it will sit in their mailroom for a while. Donna's did and she sent it in by courier (DHL).
