  1. Hi all. I was looking at the fee for the I-751 adjustment of status and planning on sending a money order. However I looked at the updated offices and fees and for Phoenix, Arizona (where I will send the application) it says that these offices will only accept payments in the form of (listed below) money order is not on that list. So does this mean they won’t accept a money order?

Ok, I may have been a little to flippant in my first response. They can care, but they would have let you know. To clarify:

Is it a regular renewal notice allowing him to renew by mail? If so, he should be fine to renew now and will likely receive 5 year license. That was the case for my husband, and like the other poster, usmsbow, they did not ask for a new copy of green card or NOA1.

Or, is it a notice stating that his "limited term" driver license will expire soon, requesting satisfactory proof that his presence in the US has been extended or reauthorized? In that case, you would want to send a copy of the NOA1/extension letter with the renewal when available.

It is a renewal by mail. It doesn’t say anything for proof. I actually just tried going online to the dmv office and it says must come in to the dmv office to complete renewal.

Did i ever say the opposite? I know that. Some people do not want to go money order route because they think only the personal check or credit card payment can be tracked to see if they've been cashed. I'l just making it aware one can see if usps money order has been chased.

I’m going to do the money order route! I feel it’s the best option! Thank you so much!

Correct. You will need to file the I-751 first and then wait for the NOA/extension letter. We filed on 05/07 and got the letter on 05/25 (I think). It typically takes 3 to 6 weeks for the NOA/extension letter to arrive in the mail. I would just make sure to file the I-751 as soon as the 90 day window opens. He should be fine. :)

Okay perfect! Thank you so much! :)

  5. Hi all,

my husbands California drivers license expires 10/2/2021 the same time his 2 year green card expires. We just got a renewal notice in the mail for his drivers license from the dmv. I’m pretty certain we wouldn’t be able to renew the drivers license without an extension of the green card as well right? My question is do we have to file the I-751 and then wait till we get the receipt that they received it and will that be efficient enough for the DMV? Or do they actually need to extend his green card before the dmv will issue him another drivers license ? Hope this all makes sense! He has a job and needs to be able to drive to work and I know with the processing times it can take a while! Thank you so much!

I-751 is your husband's application. He is the only person doing the removal. He is the one who's $680 fee will be collected.

As a USC, nothing will be needed on your end other than sign the document.

I highly recommend paying with money order from WU etc. USCIS and CC are not the best of buddies. Search VJ for horror stories regarding CC payments being rejected by USCIS.

    Congratulations on the baby.

What about a personal check? Is that okay to pay?

Your baby will be a us citizen. He/she will never deal with us immigration…  I strongly suggest sending in the documents now if it’s within the timeframe because you aren’t going to have the time, energy or mental capacity to focus on filling out forms and gathering documents once baby gets here… take this from a new mom lol

Good luck and congratulations on the baby- enjoy every day they grow too fast!

I can’t sent in the paperwork until july

4th haha and my Due date is July 6th! I’m preparing everything now so we can just sent it out when the date comes ! Thank you ❤️❤️

  8. Hi all. My husband and I are going to apply to have the conditions removed for his 2 year green card (we did the fiancé k1visa) within the next two weeks. However I am 38 weeks pregnant with our first baby. My question is do I need to pay any fees (example, biometrics) fee for our baby if he or she arrives before we submit our application for the I-751? Or do I not need to pay any fees for the baby bc they will be Born here in the US? Thank you so much!!!

  9. My fiancé’s birth certificate states -Lalu Muhammad Ace

    his passport states -Muhammad Ace

Lalu is a title name of the king and for all of his documents he uses Muhammad Ace. When we filed the K1visa and already were approved it was never even questioned why he had two names on his passport and three on his birth certificate. We are here in Indonesia for 1 more week until we both go back to United States but just wondering if he should change his birth certificate to say Muhammad Ace to match his passport. I’m just wondering when we do paperwork in the future if it will be an issue. I also looked on the adjustment of status paperwork and it says other names used and I didn’t know if I could just use Lalu for other names used. Please help!!

  10. Hello all!! Our interview was approved on February 13th in the jarkarta embassy!! Thank god!!!! I wanted to let you all know that now they are requiring the IRS tax transcript you must obtain from the IRS in order for them to process your visa. You can obtain by mail which takes 5-10 days or you can verify your phone number and get it as an attachment to email to the embassy. They said it’s a new rule since January and they haven’t been sending out emails yet to inform people the need for additional info. So just wanted you guys to know. Also at our interview (they let me intend the entire thing) they also asked me questions as well during it. They asked

    - How did you meet your fiancé?

    - How did you know she was the one ?

    - Where does she work?

    - What do you love about her?

    - They asked me - How many times have you been in Indonesia?

    - Where will your wedding be?

The whole process was so smooth and everyone was so kind and nice. The consular officer said wow you have a beautiful story. It exceeded my expectations for sure. Now we just have to wait around 1 week they said to pick up the passport. Then we will travel together back to the U.S. Thank you to all of you who have helped during this process. I hope I can be of help to someone else. ❤️

  11. Hello!! I was looking at the I-134 form and reviewing all of our paperwork for our visa interview in three days and on question number 38 it states:

i intend ____ or do not intend____ to make specific contributions to the beneficiary. I left it blank but now I’m wondering if I should check one or the other.

Obviously I will support him until he gets a job and pay for food and rent, etc. Now this question has me stumped. What should I put for this? Or should I just leave it blank? Please help!! ❤️

  12. My fiancé and i just received the interview date yesterday on February 13, 2019! FINALLY!! I am flying to Indonesia a couple days before to join him for the interview. I am booking a last minute flight to Indo and want to know how long it takes for my fiancé to get the visa to come to the United States? The plan is for him to come home with me at that time back to the states. Do you think a month will be enough time to get everything processed for him to come home with me? Just trying to plan for this flight and the one ways are almost as expensive as round trips. Any help would be so greatly appreciated!!! ❤️

  13. Hello all. My fiancé filled out the ds-160 form and now we were trying to pay the fee for the visa.

. I went on the website and signed up for an account and the k1visa is listed as a immigrant visa (even tho I know it is an Nonimmigrant visa) as instructed. It let me go all the way to the conformation page and print out but I never got a step to pay the fee.

It says that CIMB NIAGA is the bank we can pay cash at however it never let us print out a deposit slip or anything.

    Questions:

*How to pay the visa fee?

*Is it done at the embassy?

*Also I checked the status of CEAC website and it says “ready”. Does this mean it is at the embassy in Jakarta Indonesia? If so what is the next step?

I haven’t received anything from the NVC other than them stating they were sending to the embassy in indo.

    Please help 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

  14. Okay so my visa petition is in transit to the embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. It says to visit the site nvc.state.gov and to complete steps 1-6.

The first step step is choose an agent.

-I tried to do that and it says that a ds 160 needs to be filled out.

Then the 3rd step is submit visa application form and fill out ds-260. Again it says they need the ds- 160 form.

    step 4.

I tried to fill out the IRS transcript online but the system is under maintence.

    Step 6

this is what I’m confused about!

-I thought I could bring all of these documents with me to the interview when we get the date to Indonesia. But this is saying submit them to the NVC.

I also am confused because some sites are referring it to a Nonimmigrant visa and some are saying it’s an immigrant visa. I was under the impression it was Nonimmigrant.

    please help! Thank you all.

  15. Update I finally got the case number for noa2 and it’s still at the NVC and will be sent to the embassy in Jakarta.

I wanted to plan our traditional wedding back in Indonesia but does anyone know how it works as far as when my fiancé can travel out of the United States back to indo after he comes to the U.S?

Then he will come here and then applies for a Green card to work? How long does that typically take?

the info online is really confusing on what steps to take after he gets here. Thank you so much Guys!

  16. I received the NOA2 on December 3, 2018. I emailed the NVC and they said they received it and would be giving me a new case number. It is January 2nd and I still haven’t revieved anything.

How long Does it usually take for them to give you a case number? And is this something they email to you or send in the mail?

Also at what step do you fill out the DS -160 form?

Can my fiancé go and get the medical interview now or do we need to wait for the NVC to send us a case number?

My plan is to go to Indonesia when my fiancé gets the interview to bring all of my tax documents, affidavit of support, etc. and go to the interview together. Just trying to also figure out what I’m looking at as far as when we should expect the interview as I am a nurse and need to take off of work at least a month in advance.

Thank you all whoever reads and responds. I sincerely appreciate it!!!!

  17. Okay so I filed my fiancé k1 visa in March. We got an RFE In October sent it in by November and now it’s December 9th and I just received the NOA! The petition was approved thank god! Now it says they will send everything to the visa processing center and that could take 2-4 weeks. I just had a few questions for anyone who has had experience with this.

    1. Do I do anything else at this point? Or just wait?

    2. How long will it take to get an interview at my fiancé’s country? And does the embassy make the appointment or does he?

    3. What documents are needed for the interview at the embassy? I read something we need the whole copy of the petition I sent? Trying to gather everything so we can be ready for the interview.

    4. The medical exam he needs before he goes to the interview do they send info on this to me (petitioner) or him? Only asking because all of his mail goes to the post office because he lives in a small village and he doesn’t have an actual address only the post office receives his mail.

thank you all so much for reading this lengthy post and I appreciate your help in advance ❤️
