  1. @S&ERav does the police certificate and birth certificate have to be translated in English if its already in the country native language? If so, how is this process done? My fiance has all those documents with him in Haiti. This needs to be translated for the K1 Visa interview?

Also please can anyone provide me a detailed list of all the documents that we will need and things we should have in preparation for the K1 Visa interview. I feel like this Embassy is so dysfunctional and I need clarity.

  2. @S&ERav On the  Embassy Haiti website it stated that they are still scheduling appointments for Visas.....

Read below and I will also place link.

In this period of a lapse in appropriations of the U.S. Government, the Consular section of the U.S. Embassy in Haiti will be open for American Citizen Services, Nonimmigrant, and Immigrant visa services.  To schedule an ACS appointment, visit our website at https://ht.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/ (top right hand corner: Make an Appointment).  To make a Nonimmigrant interview appointment, please visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ht_fr/ht-niv-visaapply.asp, or call 509-2812-2929 (Haiti), or 1-703-544-7842 (United States). For after-hours emergencies involving U.S. citizens in Haiti, please call 509-2229-8000 and ask for the duty officer.
