Hey everyone! Still waiting for my oath date... had my interview on August 21 and still nothing... Anyone else from Connecticut here who is also waiting on their oath date?
-
Hey everyone! I had my interview today in Latham, NY. My interview officer was extremely nice! He started with the English test, moved on to the civics test, and then the yes/no questions from the application. The only documents he asked to see were my green card and passport. The only other question he asked me was if I had been outside the country since applying, which I had, I gave him the dates of my trip and that was it. I was in his office for ten minutes, he said he was going to recommend me for approval and that I should receive a letter with my oath date in one to two weeks. As I got to my car in the parking lot I got the text alert from USCIS saying they placed me in line for the oath.

Yes I did. It went well. The oath-taking ceremony got scheduled just 2 weeks later. However, for some reason, we didn't get the mailed notices. So we missed the ceremony. I only found out when I called USCIS. They quickly resolved the issue and we were rescheduled again in 2 weeks. But the ceremony happened in Hartford. I was hoping it would be in Bridgeport.
Thank you so much for getting back to me! Hope I get my ceremony date as quickly as you did. Congrats!

Congrats to you, EML13.
Did you file under 5 year or 3 year rule?
Thank you! I filed under the 3 year rule.

I know it’s a daunting 3 hour drive but it’s totally worth it over waiting for Hartford to schedule the interview. I had my interview there on June 14th and everyone was so nice there. My interview lasted only about 12 minutes then I was on my way back to CT. Good luck to you!
Trust me, I'd go to Alaska if I had to, I just can't wait to be done with it. I saw on your timeline that your oath ceremony has been scheduled, if you don't mind me asking, where will it be? Congrats on passing your interview and have a wonderful ceremony!

I live in CT and had my interview last month in Latham-NY as well. Interview was ok, I was recommended for approval but still waiting for oath ceremony to be scheduled, no updates at all.
Blah, I was really hoping to have the ceremony soon after the interview. Guess the waiting game will go on for a while longer.

that explains.
i wonder where your oath ceremony is going to be: new york or ct ?
please keep us updated
Honestly I would love if it was in NY as I have more of a connection with NY than I do with CT, I also hope it is not as far away, but I'll go wherever they send me to be done with this process quickly. I'll keep you guys updated for sure.

That is normal, it depends of your local field office.
I will add you, just complete your information please:
Online or papers? If paper which office? Your case number is beginning with NBC or IOE?
Ok good, just last question: Your case number is beginning with NBC or IOE?
It starts with IOE.
Thank you!

hmm, why latham, ny? you live in ct, should it be in hartford, ct instead?
I thought that was strange and called USCIS, the reason is what I thought, Hartford is sharing cases with other offices due to the large number of applications they have received. The officer gave me the option to reschedule to a closer location, but he warned me it would take longer.

Hi everyone! After searching everywhere for Connecticut filers to get a better idea of how long the process is taking here with no luck, I decided to join in and post my timeline.
My form N400 was received by USCIS on April 5, 2018, I did my biometrics on May 1, and today (07/17) my case was updated online to interview scheduled. Hartford's timeline says 8 to 18 months online, so I wanted to share mine to give hope to other Connecticut filers out there.
Good luck to all of us!
Got my interview date, August 21. I live in Stamford, CT and my interview was scheduled in Latham, NY. That's a three hour drive! My biometrics were also done in NY instead of Connecticut.
Filed N400: April 5
Application received by USCIS: April 9
Biometrics notice: April 14
Biometrics appointment: May 1 (Port Chester, NY)
Interview scheduled: July 17
Interview date: August 21 (Latham, NY)

My family just got our naturalization interview notices but the field office is in Latham, NY (Albany, upstate NY).
Problem is we have been living for more than 10 years now in Norwalk, CT. Latham, NY is about 3 hours drive away.
Can we call USCIS to request a change of field office since there might be a mistake somewhere?
I live in Stamford, CT and was also scheduled for my interview in Latham. I see your post is from March, have you had your interview yet? How was it?
