  1. Updated - added a Status column for any differentials..

    thanks for the input guys!

glad you all like it =)

I was so proud when I was done last night.. only took two hrs of checking and cross checking... (as I'm sure you can see from the posts here)

It looks great and very user friendly. Good job.

  2. Agreed.

Print off the link from the travel.state.gov website and take along with the you to the interview.

I had emailed the same question to the Consulate here in Montreal about working in Kuwait and a Police Clearance and they replied that it was not needed.

I printed off the email along with the screen print from the website that stated it was not required. I was asked at the interview but I told them that it was not needed.

Forget about that certificate, the consular officers are instructed by DoS to waive the requirement for police cert from UAE unless you are living in the UAE.
    Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

  3. Hi Liz,

Just wanted to say Galateia was scheduled July 5 but she has asked to be rescheduled. Not sure if you want to add re-scheduled interview column to the worksheet.

I guess you could just change it when she has her new interview date and put an astrix to show it was re-scheduled.

  4. I know what you mean about the interview. It felt more of a formality to get done than an actual interview, and the interviewer was extremly friendly, unlike the folks we encounter and get interrogated by at the border crossing :)

ok back from Montreal. the interview was ridicoulously easy. which just makes me more annoyed that we had to go do an interview. it was so superficial that if we were married just for immigration we could have easily faked our way through it. Oh well, done now. the hubby is driving me across the border today so I can get to our other car and go back to school. I'll report on the adventure of crossing the border without a passport/visa after the interview.
  5. Good luck! I look forward to hearing about u getting outta Deadmonton ASAP!!! Good luck to both of you!!! Enjoy your stay in Mtl.

Deadmonton.... now THAT made my day!!!!

Thanks y'all for the support... still some 45+ days to go, but moving along peopleeeee

45 days will go by real fast now that you have your interview date and there is an end in sight to the waiting. :)

    Good luck at the interview.

  6. hello to all VJ!

I have been reading this site for quite a month now and only register recently.

i would like to ask about the police clearance. Do the US embassy check the imigration if you been out of the country since you were 16 years old?

there are countries that require documents as proof that you stayed there longer than 6 months. But what if you had no documents kept anymore? Not even an old passport. we're still able to apply PC?

Hope someone answeres, and thank you..

The best place to start would be to contact the respective consulate or embassy of the place(s) you lived for over 6 months. They should be able to advise you on how to go about the process.

  7. Just wanted to add a couple of things to your post...

    1. You cannot file DCF since you already have a petition pending. Besides you would not have been able to file DCF unless you were a resident of Palestine.

    2. You could get a Co-sponsor for the affidavid of support if you do decide to go to Palestine to wait out the process.
