  1. How about grill dogs guts?

Yeah is seems eating dog is a tradition in some areas. My wife never likes the assumption that Filipinos eat dogs. To her dogs are pets. But I do know in other places, make your pet look too good and fattened up, you better keep it locked up tight or its going to end up on someone's dinner table.

It happened here. Two guys were convicted of stealing and eating their co-workers dog. I think the charges was theft and animal cruelty, since I think you can eat your own animals that you raise. These guys stole the co-workers dog, when he brought it to work. So the moral of the story is do not bring you fat black dog to work. Get direct tv.

  2. My wife likes Kauai. Also when we retire it will 80% Filipino. The other thing is the services that are not provided in the province, ESP emergency services. Now we can live in Manila, but we like the rural life here with the stuff we can not get in the province.

  3. Congrats, and it is time to buy the rice cooker. Oh, you in Hawaii, so you have one already. Good luck, and your future wife should not have much culture shock in Hawaii. So what island do you live on?

  4. Panalo si Jessica. Well something like that. She will win and become a star here I hope. Since she is not half white, she can not be an ABS-CBN star. Even Manny thinks she should win.

  5. My wife has some family here on Kauai, and a lot of distant relatives in Ewa Beach on Oahu. We have the baliktad problem here. We have no white friends, and most of our friends are Filipino. But when half the Island is Filipino, well it is hard not too have mostly Filipino friends. But I do see many yabang Filipinos here too. So I think it just helps to have friends. Even for me, was nice to meet people from Hawaii, when I was in the Mainland. Yet I had mostly Haole friends in the Mainland.

  6. There is a lot of fast food in PI. Jollibee, Pizza Hut, Greenwich, McDo, Burger King, Chow King, etc. comes to mind. However my wife likes dried fish cooked. Why does frying dried fish stink so much. I mean like dried fish, but not fried dry fish. But the worse is microwaving dried fish. Some nanas did that at Walmart in the break room. So make sure to teach your wives never to microwave dry fish.

  7. We've got PERFECT Weather and Selina Gomez .... What else can you possibly want today?

You also have Chow King, Red Ribbon, Jollibee, Seadfood City, and all the ABS-CBN concerts and events. We do not have any of that here. All we have are many roosters crowing, just like in the province.

  8. awww... and I wanted to come live in Hawaii..... guess a Kano would have problems....

of course then again... lots of fruits and veggies plus eating a lot of sesfood.... doubt if it would be absolute paradise for me......but asawa ko would love it.... be like home....

Well the anti-Haole thing is bad, but it depends on how the person is. If the person comes here like the stupid kano stereotype then problems may arise. Yet I have seem whites here just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Also the job market here is service based and does not pay well versus the cost of living. However we do need doctors, and they make less here. Also we have a lot of American food here too.

  9. You should be very happy here in Hawaii. You have no problem getting Filipino food or meeting other Filipinos. Heck you might meet long lost relatives and friends here.

  10. Wow it is hotter in IL than HI, damn global warming. My wife gets cold to when it is the upper 60'to mid 70's in the house or outside. Yet complains when it get in the 80's here. Also she said could never live in PI now coz it is too hot all the time. Also reason number 11, marry a Filipina so she has no culture shock to your in-laws.

  11. Well Hawaii is not all that it cracked up to be. It is very expensive to live here. When we visited Texas, we roughly calculated that food in the store was bout half of what we pay here. Gas, rent, and the electric bill on of the highest in the nation. Also it can be hard non-Ilocanos without family here to fit it. It reminds of the clickes you see in high-school. Also there is growing problem of racism towards white people from the mainland here. Home is where the heart is, and I think Filipinos can thrive and live just about anywhere.

  12. Rice is the staple here. She also can get fresh Filipino Gulay and fruit at the farmers market here. She likes Asian food too, which is dominat food style here. Yet she likes a lot of more typical American food as well. She has yet to complain of not being to get Filipino food here. I am glad that she other food besides Filipino food. The one food she does not like is raw fish, which is very common to eat here in many ways.

  13. Well where I live people, can be racist towards white people. My wife comes from the Philippines, and has no problem here, I guess when half the island is Filipino, than no problems. However I have seen and heard about some nasty things done towards whites from the Mainland. It sucks coz my dad is white, yet he has no problems fitting in here.
