  1. Hi all, I've recently moved to States last month and got my green card. I have a mixed experience of around 15 years in Operations Management (5 years), Program/Projects Management (3 years), Automation/IT (5 years) and Administrative/logistics (2,3 years). My latest experience is in Operations Management on a Manager level. Although I have never worked in USA but throughout my career I've worked for the international organisations having presence in USA as well.

I started applying for jobs for "Operations Manager" however havent received a single interview call as of now. I have even applied for the firms on which I used to work in my country but even they didnt call. Some people suggested to start from entry level so I even started applying for entry level posts however no luck.

Looks like I am overqualified for entry level posts due to my experience and not fit for same level since I dont have American work experience or education. What do you guys suggest should I do?

I am starting to do some research into the documents required for SSN and the state driving license (Connecticut) which got me thinking about bank accounts.

Are there any checking accounts more favourable than others? With lower or no fees? I know that some offer free checking accounts if you also have a savings account with them and keep a minimum amount in it.

    Any personal recommendations?

Also, does anyone have any information about what ID they would require to open an account?

    Thanks in advance

Hi I just immigrated to CT as well last month and got my account opened with Liberty Bank. No charges to open checking account plus no need to keep certain minimum balance. Also got free of cost debit card, online banking and 12 checks. All they wanted was two forms of ID and two recent mails on my address. Pls do let me know if you need any further info :)

NADRA does not issue them but Union Council does based on NADRA and the paper will have silver lining for authenticity.

I used Mamoo In Pakistan services. There were few others to choose from. MIP has great reputation as they are a big company. It was $250 USD.

I was able to get the scan  yesterday of my BC. I had forgot to submit my Grand Father’s CNIC Card to MIP. Therefore, the CNIC is blank on my BC. Would that be an issue with USCIS? I submitted my GF card to them so they are working on a new BC now.  They said I will see the new BC on Monday and than mail it to me.

I checked from the lawyer. 70% of pakistanies dont have their grandfather's CNIC so their BC is blank for GF CNIC number. Same was the case with me when i got mine made few weeks back. There wasnt any issue. I got my visa last week. All the best.

I'm going to interview soon.. just super afraid of interview. seems like CO just make excuse to put case under AP.. I hope it goes well at the end. My affidavit is under my petitioner's income. we already checked the requirements of income. I hope CO don't ask for joint sponsor. we are sure we don't need one. my petitioner does have her more than enough income.

Then you shouldn't worry at all. Affidavit of support is pure maths. They just see the income and then calculate the number of dependants. They do have a chart with figures pasted on their window which they refer to during the interview (that is also available online). If your income is enough then they shouldn't ask for that. All the best!

can you please confirm whose original birth certificate was missing? either petitioner or the beneficiary?

Actually beneficiary's (mine) birth certificate was missing because on state department website it clearly said that pakistanis can submit Nadra's Family Tree Certificate instead of birth certificate so I took that to the interview. however they did not accept that during the interview and asked me to submit birth certificate which i then got made.

Congratulations to you bro ! Can you please share your time in how much time you case got approved and how much time your case took at what status , was your case showing (AP) if yes so how much time it took in your case on AP....??

Thanks bro. Its spouse visa category which took two years. Got approved on 29th June 2016. but we wasted around 5 months during the process in which NVC asked for affidavit of support and it took us around 5 months to do that. My interview in Islamabad was on 22nd May 2018 in which they asked for original birth certificate which I submitted on 11th June. CEAC status was 'refused' after the interview. On 22nd June it was 'Ready'. On 24th June it went to 'Admin Processing" and finally on 25th June it was "issued". Now waiting for the passport.

Alhumdullilah Alhumdullilah my visa has been issued and i got my passport in hand on 20th june 2018. My status changed from refused to ready then administrative process and at the end issued.

Wonderful news. Congratulations MashAllah. Can you pls tell us what was your interview date? and for how many days it remained on "refused" after you submitted the required additional docs. Similarly how many days on "ready" , "AP" and finally "issued". thanks

  10. Hi all, i was wondering if you could help. I gave my interview in Islamabad embassy on 22nd May. They asked to submit original birth certificate which I submitted on 11th June. CEAC status was 'refused' from 22nd May. Status remained same however the dates kept changing on CEAC i.e 14th June, then 19th June. Today (22nd June) CEAC status is 'Ready' (for interview). Any idea from your experiences how much time will it take to be 'issued' from 'ready'?. Many thanks.
