  1. Not every CEO has worked hard to get where they are. Like James Murdoch, for example.......

Nor does every CEO wastes his or his staffs time forwarding spam "globally" either. You might like to re read the original post where it is clearly stated

I am sure many of you may have seen the attached comments but a friend sent it to me
and then take a look HERE

It seems the OP hero worships spammers. Just how much credibility as a manager does a spammer have?

Oh what foresight and vision he has in his leadership skills that the best inspirational e mail for a Monday morning he can come up with is not relevant to the business, nor is it self written, or his thoughts on words of wisdom by a recognised leader in their particular field but instead a forward of spam mail?

One wonders what the staff handbook says re company policy in acceptable computer usage and spam?

Thanks to the OP for the best unintentional foot in mouth I have seen in a while

  2. My fiancee and I are getting married around summer of 2008. She has a son who will be sixteen this December. What do we need to do in order to get him authorization to work?

It kind of depends on his citizenship/residency status and which country you her and him will be living in!

  3. Boy you walked into this one Steve.

That is my point!!!!! In America anyone that wants to succeed and is willing to work for it then it will happen! I wasn't talking about PI! Anyone in America that spends his life at the bottom is there because he chose to. Anyone, anywhere in America can succeed here. That doesn't happen in to many countries.

Steve you see social and economic differences in the American population and see it as unfair. You see it as something to become an activist about and to seek to change through laws and regulations. I see that even our lowest of the low in terms of standing or lifestyle has it better that most outside of the 1st world. The lower class was where we start in life. Get a job and experience or get an education. Then after you work and gain life experience you move out of lower class. If someone spends his entire life at the bottom then it is his own fault. If we make it to cushy then they have no incentive to improve and move up in the world. We are really keeping that person down if we make the bottom to easy. It's like welfare. We found that if we make it to easy then entire generations live off of it. The bottom is there for a reason. To give people an incentive to improve. We have nothing to be ashamed of. We do have room for improvement, yes, but nothing to be ashamed of.

While that is, for the most part, true, it's not entirely accurate. For instance -- take someone who is homeless. How do they get a job? One of the requirements for a job is a permanent place of residence. If you're homeless, you don't have that, so you can't get the job. If you can't get the job, you can't make money, and therefore, you can't raise yourself out of poverty.

I'm not saying that this is the situation with all poverty cases. I'm just pointing out that sometimes, it's not as easy as we might think to "raise ourselves up" when we're sunk to the bottom.

Oh please what are you thinking of? Don't you understand that cutting benefits for veterans returning from Iraq is just the governments way of making sure they don't have life to easy and have an incentive to crawl to work. Who needs legs anyways?

  4. This Admin is screwing up the Constitution so bad. It is called the patriot act. That has taken a lot of my civil rights away. If I want to open a bank account I have to show I am not a threat. If I check out books from the libary and they can get the records.

they can bust into your home with out a warrent now and arrest you and put you in jail and not tell you why..and can leave you as long as they feel like. They just say he was a terriost and keep him in jail.

So a lot of civil rights been taken away. they are tapping people phones, putting people on the 'no fly list' and they wont let you know why you on it.. the Homeland dept is the Bush admin. SS Nazi's

If only schools here taught kids to research the top 20 countries around the world, they would find that they already have similar or even tougher laws in place than the patriot act. Welcome to the 21st Century and being civilized.. I think you will find no other country has such an anything-goes style system.. Or a system where the government has to report 24/7 any security measures taken to protect its' citizens.

The school system would actually do better by educating school children, it does not surprise me that you see blind propaganda as more important than factual knowledge. Can you please provide us all with a link to another civilized 21st century country from those top 20 you refer to that has its own gitmo bay then? Oh and while you are at it perhaps you please tell me how removing my non profile shoes at an airport protects the USA, or what business of the governments it is where I choose to legally travel within the USA, why my credit card details are of national security importance, why we are all safer by placing a 4 year old on a no fly list, why my 1st amendment rights are violated in the interests of security etc etc etc. Oh and I really must be stupid because for the life of me I still can't see the connection between 9/11 and Iran yet there must be one because dubyah keeps reminding us about it. That ought to keep you busy for the next year or so have fun ;)

Education is indeed a wonderful thing provided it is a liberal education (not in the political sense because I know most republitards won't understand the difference) as opposed to indoctrination. Oh that reminds me what happened to the dinosaurs then?

Although the right to think critically and examine evidence is not specifically guaranteed by the constitution it is ok to use it you know ;) Or you could just bleat soundbites and other on message party slogans, have a nice day sheeples :D

As an aside it is interesting to note that the CEO choose to equate his view of the world with words written in 1953. Either he is backwards looking, nostalgic or totally out of touch with reality to make a comparsion with the world we live in today and one that existed 54 years ago. I guess it tells us something about Republicans and their grasp on reality :P

  5. Yes it must be so nice to work for a firm where the CEO abuses his position to send political commentary to 5000 people. I can see why you are so proud citizen

PS you forgot to mention his political donations to the Republican party, but its OK most of us managed to figure it out anyways

Hows that other bastion of American commerce Enron doing these days? Once upon a time employees talked about it in the same childlike adulation, now of course they simply try and remove the egg from their face. And this is the beauty of peoples arrogance, it is so much fun to see the imbecilic smirk wiped away when reality delivers the inevitable kick up their a$$ :D

  6. I've heard Virgin is exellent before, but it's way more expensive too isn't it?? We always have to think of cost first, unfortunately. :( Craig likes BA alright..I enjoyed my United flights, but I'm sure some others have had really poor experiences with them... M.

Virgin is a great carrier but unfortunately has a very limited route network to the US and is not a member of any of the big 3 alliances, BA is still the best TA carrier but can indeed be expensive unless you book during one of their sale periods. The strike is sort of back to an on/off stage with further talks today. If the strike does go ahead watch their website after the strike. If history repeats itself they will have some serious discounting going on to try and lure business back.

  7. Put these two together and we have the same danger we had with the USSR in the early 60's. The only difference here is that the USSR didn't want to start WW3. Iran does.

Or put it together with the reports of WMD and believe every lie you hear.

Thank you for making my point. To you there is no danger. It's all a lie made up by Bush. Hiding your head in the sand will get us all killed.

You had a point? I must have missed it

  8. Well everyone, we are married now!!!! Yeahhhhh, it went really well, we had a blast. Just got back from our honeymoon and went to the Social Security office yesterday and applied for Zaeem's SS card. Now I am wondering about the Driver's License. I called the DMV and asked them the procedure and they were not much help. They told me he would need to bring his UK license and passport, then take the written test and driving test and he would get his license for Florida. Is this true? I asked them how long he was able to drive on the UK license and they stated 10 days only. I am really confused about this, because I looked on another thread about this and it stated that if he were to get his license now, it would only be good for 3 months. Should we wait until AOS is completed for him to go and apply for his Driver's License? Has anyone else ever had this experience and if you have could you please give me some advice as what to do. Thank you so much!!!!

    Stacey and Zaeem Khan (F)

You have a computer as you are posting here, why not simply look it up on line?

New Resident Who Already Has a License

If you're new to Florida, you're 18 or older, and already have a valid driver license from another state or country, getting your FL license can be really simple. You can use your current out-of-state license as your primary form of ID, so you'll only need a secondary form of identification. The $20 application fee will also apply.

In most cases you will be required to take the vision and hearing tests only. However, the DMV has the authority (and reserves the right) to require additional testing on a case-by-case basis.

    Non-United States Citizens

Original Driver License or Identification Card Florida law requires identification, proof of date of birth and social security number (if issued) from all customers before a driver license or identification card can be issued.

    Immigrants

Each immigrant who applies for an original driver license or identification card must submit:

Alien Registration receipt card, (Green card, Form I-551); or

I-551 stamp in passport or on I-94; or

Immigration Judges Order, with the customer's A-number, granting asylum; or

I-797, with the customer's A-number, stating the customer has been granted asylum; or

I-797 or another form from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services, with the customer's A-number, stating the customer's application for Refugee status is approved

  9. We have been to the DMV 5 times now, every time needing something else,

and then finally the last time they said too much time had passed on our original K1 visa

and that we were now less than 61 days to its expiration and because of

that they wont give my wife her permit license, she doesnt have international drivers license

so she is really stuck at home while I am at work all day

We today have gotten first NOA "receipt" I-797C from our AOS package,

is this what the DMV needs or do we have to wait for yet another letter

regarding our AOS indicating NOA "approval" rather than just "reciept" ?

and if so how long after receipt does that sometimes take others?

    thank you

....... The New Jersy on line DMV does not detail your requirements. Be patient and persistant.

    Good luck,

    Tony

    Yes it does.

  10. So let us think about this one.

You claim to be flying 1st class from Russia to London on BA then you post a link showing a flight not on BA but BMED as I stated and not in 1st but business Hmmmz

BMED is not on strike or affected by a strike in any way SOME of BA crew are.

In your original post you claimed you were flying united then post a link showing you are a flight on Northwest.

And it is me who is the Moran?    Good luck with your next medical I am sure they will prescribe some appropriate meds

  11. I am assuming she is arriving on an early/mid afternoon flight? I really wouldn't worry about it too much 2-3 hours should be adequate, however, the airlines will normally accommodate her as a disconnect should she be delayed beyond her scheduled departure time. It depends on her comfort level and how she would feel hanging around for 4 or 5 hours if she whizzes through in an hour. It is much more difficult to get put on an earlier flight without additional expense.

  12. An 80 foot pole requires approval from a local planning department - obviously - its irrelevant whether Trump is flying the flag or his own underpants at the end of it

So are you going to sit here and say it is okay to burn a bloody flag but not okay to fly a flag, irrespective of the size..

Um no... Where are you getting this "burning the flag" ####### from. The story clearly mentions that the objection is about the size of the pole.

Put it another way - why not see how far you get trying to build a 75 foot tower in your back yard? I'm sure your neighbours would love the shadow cast over their property  It's called an eyesore.

I assume everyone here understands that network and cable news (and radio and newspapers) are commercial ventures and cater to their particular demographic. I don't understand how anyone could be surprised when Fox News says something goofy about Obama or CNN says something goofy about Bush. If they really cared about giving us the news it would be commercial free and with no opinions added. They're just selling hemmorhoid cream, folks.

  13. I entered the U.S on a K-1 visa in August 2005, got married to my US Citizen wife, and applied for AOS.

Unfortunatly, our marriage started to break down after a short while. at this stage my AOS was pending.

I made a Info Pass at my local office and told the officer that we had problems with our marriage, and what were my options of staying in the U.S. Basicly I was told that if both my wife and I didn't attend my AOS interview, I would have leave the States or return home, being England.

So, in July 2006 I had all my belongings shipped back to the UK, and returned myself.

Afer a couple of months back home my wife started to make contact with me, saying what a terrible mistake she had made, and wanted me back, however, I was very reluctant in returning to the U.S after just rebuilding my life back in England. But we kept in contact by phone and email on a regular basis.

This past Christmas, friends of mine who live in the States invited me for the holidays. I entered the States on the Visa Waiver Program with no problems.

During my stay my wife and I spent a lot of time together and sorted out most of our problems, which was great.

Now, I'm back in England. We have both decided we want the marriage to work and I am planning on returning to the States within a few weeks. I will enter the States on the Visa Waiver Program again. But I'm very concerned about my next step.

Should I reapply for AOS and Work Authorisation?

Should we file for Family Based Visa I-130?

Can I legally stay in the States while it's being processed?

Any positive advice would be welcome....Thanks

You can not enter on the VWP as you have immigrant intent. I suspect your leaving of the USA may well be viewed as abandonment of your application. K3 would at first glance appear to be the way to go now but I am not familiar enough with K3 to say for certain that will be allowed.
