    Hello :)

My case was in AP for 5 working days after my interview on the 20th July

It was in ‘Issued’ for 2 working days until i got the email to say DX are delivering the following day!

Hopefully yours changes to issued in the next few days! I know how you feel, i was always checking CEAC tracker, keep us updated :D

Thanks so much for getting back. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

We will keep checking and will keep you posted x

This is why they advise you not to go ahead and book anything until you have your visa in hand! You'll just have to cross your fingers that it arrived in time. At this point there's not much you can do!

Ok, thanks for not answering my question. You seemed desperate to get some sort of comforting news when you were going through your process. I just asked a simple question. Forget I asked.

Yes i agree but sooo worth it to close the long distance gap FINALLY😁

Hi there, I'm slightly relieved in reading your post. I had my interview on the 31st July, they got my medical results that same afternoon. My case has been in admin processing since, then to ready, then to case received and now back to admin processing.

I'm hoping I won't have to wait longer than 9 days post interview to get an "issued" notice. How long did you wait in total from your interview date? Our wedding is booked for the 18th August and I'm FREAKING OUT!!! I'm also travelling with my 8yr old daughter.

I appreciate any info you're happy to share.

  4. Hello. Wondering if someone could help please. I was married briefly in 2008. We separated in 2009 when I fell pregnant. Divorce was final after my daughter was born. My daughter is not mentioned in any divorce proceedings nor does she carry his surname. He's also not on her birth certificate.  We've had zero contact since 2009 and the CSA cannot track him down as being in the UK. I wasn't aware I needed his permission to take my daughter to the US. Our interview is on the 31st and I'm going to the court today to ask for permission which we won't get in time for her to start school in September. Can this stop us from moving over? From what I understand I am the sole parent with parental responsibility as he's never been in the picture. He's never wanted to or made attempts to see her or communicate with her and he's nowhere to be found. Any advice please on what I can do? I'm worried we'll be stopped at check in but I've been told so long as I have her birth certificate and the letter from CSA stating communication was attempted I should be fine?

The same here - I needed appointments for me and my son.

You have to choose a pick up option from the drop down list at that point, then you can choose courier delivery before you pay. It costs £38 for 2 visas to be couriered.

That's ok, you're welcome. Good luck with everything.

Thank you for the info. I hope you don't mind if you keep me posted on the arrival of your visas so we know more less what to expect? We have a deadline at my daughter's new school and really didn't anticipate the delivery to take as long as you're experiencing.

    Thanks

I scheduled our interview for 10 days after our medical, 8 working days. I was keeping an eye on available appointments and there was one slot available on the 21st June so I took it. There is conflicting information. I made a judgement based on our circumstances, I guess that's all you can do. It was more difficult to get a medical date that was suitable so I started with that and worked around it.

I haven't heard about passports not being delivered. When we scheduled our embassy appointment I chose the courier service. You can check the status of your case by logging in to CEAC with your case number. It's 11 days since our interview and it showed our visas were issued 7 days after the interview and we are waiting for delivery now.

Wow...thanks for all the info. I'm calling Knightsbridge every day to check for cancellations so we can have our medical earlier. As it's me and my 8yr old travelling....2 ppl slots don't usually get freed up that easily. Currently booked for the 21st July...even a week earlier would help us. I have also selected the courier service but it gives me a drop-down list (before paying) to choose from. Maybe this will change after I pay. Going from what you're saying...it looks like it might be 2 weeks wait for the visas. Thank you so much for all the info.

If I've understood you correctly, I think that's cutting it a bit fine. You need at least 5 working days for your medical results to be delivered to the embassy. Getting the medical appointment is more in demand than the demand for K1 visas, so your time schedule will be dictated by that.

Thanks for the info. We just seem to getting a lot of conflicting messages about how long to leave between the medical and the interview. 5 working days seems about right....we've been informed 2 weeks would be better. If you don't mind me asking....did you schedule your interview 5 days after your medical as well?

Also...apparently passports are not being returned to home addresses any more. We've had to pick a delivery location in London. Would you know how long after the interview documents are ready for collection? Thank you for your help.

I doubt that very much. You can try calling them every day to see if they have cancellations. It's best to schedule the embassy interview with 5 working days at the minimum from the medical. The medical is the hardest part, in my experience. All the visa applications in England have to go through Knightsbridge. It is possible but not advisable. You need to get this stage right. I can only advise from experience.

Thank you. We're now able to book our interview and the 1st available date is the 17th July. Our medical is on the 21st. I'll keep calling to see if there are any further cancellations that'll bring our medical forward at least by 1 week.

Do you know how flexible they are with changing our interview dates? For example, if we book our interview for after the 21st...but we need to change it to a closer date to accommodate our medical...would we be able to do that without paying an additional fee?

Thank you. I think I'll just call every day to check for cancellations. If anything we'll just have to wait and be patient until after the medical.

    Thank you!

I just read through the thread again -

You can book ahead at Knightsbridge if you have the correct case numbers. If you need to cancel you will incur a charge, I think it's £90 if you cancel within 3 days of your scheduled appointment, from what I remember.

I booked our embassy appointment before our medical. I was keeping an eye on availability for a few weeks. An appointment became available for June 21st & I took it. That left 10 days between the medical & embassy appointments, plenty of time for the medical notes to be sent over.

Our case left NVC on May 4th & we received the letter from the embassy on May 11th. From my experience, London is well run & efficient at processing. Appointments are allocated on a first come first serve basis for both. There are more people going for medicals than applying for K1s so it's difficult to get an appointment soon. When I checked with Knightsbridge they were booking 3 weeks ahead at the earliest. If all goes smoothly you could potentially have a consulate interview within 4 weeks of them receiving your case. I like to allow for errors or hold ups so I planned this stage would take 5 weeks. Like anything in this process though - until that visa is in my hand I'm not making definite plans. I've got the shipping company keen for me to confirm our booking for mid-July but I'm not committing to anything until the visas are delivered & I've checked it's all in order. What's a couple of weeks more wait by this point? :)

Are you guys up to date with your vaccines? I never had MMR because I'm too old (I mean that wasn't available for my generation) so I have to get that done. From what I've been reading it's booster shots of tetanus & MMR that are most commonly needed. They are free on the NHS here & then you can get that signed off. The requirements are 2 MMR vaccine & a tetanus within the past 10 years.

    Hi there,

We've already booked our medical for the 25th July but want to book our interview as soon as possible. If we get an earlier date for our interview...is it possible for Knightsbridge to see us sooner before our interview date?

    Thank you

  11. Hi I was wondering if someone could help please.

I am a UK beneficiary and have just booked our medical case for myself and my daughter at Knightsbridge. The lady on the phone told me the 1st available date was the 25th July...?

I am unable to book my interview as our case is still with NVC, however when my fiance speaks to the office in the states, they say it will be in the UK anytime this week. My question is: if we book our interview for an earlier date before the 25th July, is it possible to amend our medical to accommodate this? We were hoping to leave the UK by the end of July at the latest. Just wondering what our options are and if Knightsbridge will se us if we tell them our interview is earlier?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The post is two years old. Procedures, timing, and even embassy location have changed. The readiness form was dropped.

Your steps are listed on the embassy's instruction page https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

Did you get info from Knightsbridge when you booked the appointment?

List of things to bring to medical http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm

Thank you. Yes I figured as much. Also have those lists thank you for replying.

    Hello,

I was hoping someone would have an answer to this for me...(I am in the uk!)

So I scheduled my medical appointment for May 24th in London.

I submitted my form of readiness and have all my documents ready.

I then went on to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv and scheduled my own interview for June 21st.

But apparently you can't do that? I have already paid the visa fee, but I spoke to someone on the phone and they said that I cannot schedule my own interview, and that as soon as the embassy received my medical results, they will send me a letter with my interview date.

    Is this correct?

    Any help would be great!!

    Kelly

Kelly....when you say you submitted your form of readiness....kindly explain please. I'm waiting for our status to clear so I can book my interview. Apart from the medical questionnaire is there anything else that needs doing prior to attending the medical? Thank you

  14. Hi there. My American fiance called the office 2 weeks after getting the noa2 and they gave him the case number over the phone.

I've tried booking an appointment online (before getting the letter from the consulate here in uk)...apparently it takes an additional weeks before the UK get the file from the US so you can book your interview date. Hope this helps x
