There is a potential delay with the I751 still pending.

It may still be a good move for you. We were ready to submit our N400 on Wednesday if we didn't see movement on our case and on the Monday the status updated to Approved.

It's a bad idea to file now if you are planning any trips out of the country or are anxious to get that 10 year GC without delay.

On the other hand, we are enjoying taking our vacations and any trips in the US and have no plans to travel outside of the country for the foreseeable future and as our ultimate goal is to have all of us with the same citizenship and living together as a family without constantly having to update things, mark dates for renewals and keep paying fees - you get the picture  .... we were willing to take the chance of the additional delay.

They will not process your N400 until your I 751 is approved. Often there is a combo interview for both cases, but this doesn't work out as well for everyone and it can be anything from a moderate to lengthy delay in getting your 10 year greencard. There is a thread on this forum on Combo filing.  Lots of different experiences shared on there.

Thank you, that's helpful. I don't worry about travel nor need my card. I thought it might get the ball rolling but I guess I might have to review the thread first.

Texas received a lot of I751 cases from Vermont in February and March. There are MANY approvals from February transfers and there have been some approvals from March transfers as well!

So  it's moving along now.  It seems that it takes them about 2 months to take any action on the case. I’m talking about the transferred cases, so that equals to 1 year & 2 months from the initial filing.

    Thank you

Just want to share with you guys that my case just got approved!!!

    April 10, 2018 - Case received

    August 2018 - 18-month extension letter received

Then nothing. Crickets for a year. No biometrics or any notice.

Half an hour ago I got an email saying "We have taken an action on your case" and I logged on the website. And it's APPROVED!

BTW, I'm petitioning for myself after an amicable divorce, if that info helps.

    What Service Center?

This is directly from page 4 of the N-400 instructions:

Early Filing. An applicant filing under the general naturalization provision (section 316(a) of the INA) may file his or
her application up to 90 days before he or she would first meet the required 5-year period of continuous residence as a
lawful permanent resident (LPR). An applicant filing as the spouse of a U.S. citizen under section 319(a) of the INA may
file up to 90 days before meeting the required 3-year period of continuous residence as an LPR.
    Although an applicant
may file early according to the 90-day early filing provision, the applicant is not eligible for naturalization until he or she
has reached the required 3- or 5-year period of continuous residence as an LPR. Applicants filing up to 90 days before
meeting the continuous residence requirement must still meet all other requirements for naturalization at the time of filing
Form N-400. For example, an applicant filing under section 319(a) of the INA must meet all other requirements as the
spouse of a U.S. citizen at the time of filing.

Is it the section 319(a) that has you worried? Do you not meet the marriage requirement?

Oh, this is very helpful, thank you! Base on that I became eligible for N-400 last month and just were thinking whether I should wait or pull the trigger. Deeply appreciate your time and help.

uscis has a calculator where you can put in your issue date of GC. It also mentions the 3 -year rule for marriage based GCs with 90 day early filing option.

    https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator

Thank you, it has a bold text right down below of title of the article:

"The information in this part ONLY relates to your time as a permanent resident if you file under Section 319(a) and 316(a) of the INA. You MUST meet all other eligibility requirements when you file."

So I guess if you are not under mentioned regulation you have to wait for the 3rd anniversary. Am I missing something?
