  1. He guys, what do you think if our petition wasn't touch at all after they issued NOA-1.. and it is 45 days already :( what do you think is it good sign or bad?

and good luck to everyone again! :)

Don't worry if your petition hasn't been touched yet ....I am in the same situation I got NOA1 on March 19 so I just think we need to be patient I think we will have some news around June I hope so.

    Good luck!!

We hope June will come soon :(

  2. hello i just wonder any march csc filers got his/her approval yet

    thank you

There is one reported and it was probably expedited. CSC filers can expect to wait about 90 days or more.

It would help everyone if you fill in your timeline.

I don't think that march filers need to wait 90 days more as for example our package 45 days in CSC already, and I don't think they need 90 days more to approve it since we expect the approval by mid of June like veryone here. :)

  3. Hello fellow March Filers. :) I just noticed that "our" thread has been buried on page five for the last week. Anyway, I thought I would bring it to the top to see what you guys have to say. I guess we can start looking for more touches at the end of May. I hope!!!!

We hope toooo... It is almost May and after June!!! yeahh!!! Our petition wasn't touch at all after they issued NOA-1, we hope it is good sign :hehe:

and we have to do so many wedding administartion stuff together, but it is so dificult when you live so far and costs alot of money (on calling cards) :hehe:

Anyway good luck to March CSC, TSC, and NSC filers as I guess all vermont people already gor their NOA-2.

    :)

  4. I've been looking at timelines for the past 10 days, just to get ideas. I can not imagine waiting 6-9 months for this first step to be over. But it seams like thats the norm for the California Service Center. I do not understand how Vermont could be processing these files in less then one month. Don't get me wrong, i'm very happy for those who go through Vermont, but it just feels a bit unfair. The United States is one country, therefor they should process in order it was recieved no matter what center. If Vermont has time to spare, why does all other Service Centers send to California? It just doesn't make any sense.

I guess my question is, does anyone know why TSC and other Service Centers send their files to CSC? I understand they don't process I-129F anymore, but why send it all to one Center when another seams like they are itching for work?

    Any thoughts?

    thanks

    Harout

EXACTLY!!!! I put the same kind of topic asking people why Vermount is quick when California is so slow!!! I agree that Texas or Nebraska could forward I-129F petitions to Vermonth and not to California. But people here in forum told me that Vermount is a small state that's why probably is so quick... But it is not point!!!

    What do you think?

  5. Oh well... I think I understood it only now....

So please let me know if I am not right.

So it is not necessary to obtain new passport till my AOS will be proved, but applying for AOS, EAD and AP I need to put my new surname according our marriage certificate. So when I will travel abroad while my AOS is still in the process I can show my old passport, marriage certificate and AP at Passport control point in different countries where I will travel. But as soon as I will get approved AOS and this card will be send to me by snail mail I can go to Embassy I am citizen of (Kazakhstan) and apply for new passport which will have my new surname.

    I hope I am correct.

My apologies for so stupid questions, but sometimes it is so difficult to understand.

    Thank you again

  7. Dear all,

My Fiancé (US citizen) and I are waiting for our I-129F to be approved, but while we are waiting, we are reading all information concerning my status after I will arrive in US. As I am going to take his surname after we will get married, I have few questions nobody can answer.

    - Can I apply for new passport (with my new surname) immediately after our wedding?

    - Should I obtain new passport in Embassy of my country (I am citizen of Kazakhstan)?

    - If I can obtain new passport from Embassy can I submit new passport for Filing for Adjustment of Status?

    - If yes should I put copy of my old passport with K-1 visa in it?

    - I am scared that issue of new passport will take about 3 months since can we file for Adjustment of Status in 3 months after our wedding?

I am sorry for many questions, but we are so confused and really don’t know the answers.

    Thank you to everyone

Well, most of the time you have to relinquish your passport to get a name changed (I know I'll have to but I'm a USC) and you will need it for adjustment of status if you have an interview - you could explain to them why you don't have it, and they may understand but it is a risk. If you aren't planning on traveling right away, I'd wait until after AOS is completed. Or you could wait until after you get the passport back to file AOS, and that's ok.

You do, however, do it through the embassy. They should just need the marriage certificate (all they need in the US)

Thank you very much for your advice.

So please let me to confirm:

After wedding I apply for my new passport as well as for AOS. But in application of AOS I will put my new surname according to my marriage certificate (surname of my husband who is USC) + copy of my old passport (with maiden name) where I have K-1 visa. So it means EAD, AP, SSN and green card are not visa type documents that should be glue in my passport. They are just separate plastic type cards and nothing to do with my passport as for example K-1 visa will be glued in to my passport. Also I will have my new surname in EAD, AP, SSN and green card. Am I right?

    Thank you again

    1) Yes..

    2) Yes..

    3) A passport is not required for filing AOS (However it is for some of the ancillary benefits and then it's only a copy of the passport ID page).. however a copy of your K1 visa is...

    4) Definitley make a copy of the passport ID page as well as a copy of your K-1 visa and the I-94

    5) You can file for AOS without your passport (However, you're going to need some sort of ID). If you don't have your passport at the time of your AOS interview, it's ok as long as you have some other form of picture ID..

You can still travel while your passport is in your maiden name... I would be quite so fast in seding out your passport until you some form of US picture ID...

Thank you very much for your advice.

  11. For me it wouldn't make any difference to know WHY Vermont is faster. Cause I know that I can't file there.

Just try to be patient and hang in there.

For me it makes big difference... :( as my Fiance was a resident of MA just before we send our petition to TSC he moved down to FL and changed his residency.... we thought that it will take the same time, but now looking that VSC approves in few weeks :crying: big mistake

  12. you know, CSC is able to stay about three months behind all the time .. which means to me that they are keeping up with the current flow of applications into the center (they are just three months behind).

This makes me wonder why they don't just hire extra people catch up to date and then lay the new folks off. As long as the adjudicators at CSC worked at the same pace that they are working now, once the center was caught up they could process the applications at lightning speed instead of keeping them on a shelf somewhere collecting dust for 3 months.

As a business owner, I can assure you that if someone was on my payroll and that employee did business the way that the USCIS does, I would have to seriously consider replacing them.

Like roverdriver said above, leave it to the government.

I agree... what I can't understand why Vermont Centre works faster??? different people?
