  1. Hello all, I just finished my i751 and n400 combo interview. Went well. But I’m planning to travel at the end of this month and my extension letter is expired. I ask to have info pass (stamp) on my passport but they said they can’t do it as my i751 case is already approved. Do any of you guys know how long it takes to receive the green card after interview? Or is there any idea how to deal with this kind of problems?
    thank you

I’m planning to change my name the day of my Interview. It’s not a big deal for me if I cant But I read That (I’m in New Jersey) Newark office (my office) does oath the same day of interview and its one of the few that you can change your name the same day.

is this “ no change the name at USCIS a nationwide thing or is because your office doesn’t have a court as the naturalizations place?

    thank you!

I’m in San Francisco local office and they said they don’t change name by uscis. But I have no idea of other field office.

I finished my interview today. It was combo interview. Everything went pretty smooth except I couldn’t change my name. The IO told me they can’t change name through uscis now. I need to go through court and ask for new naturalization certificates again later.
It took around 30 mins in total.
Note:- take all evidence papers,  (your wife and kids if you have )if your i751 is pending. Because they go one by one interview.)

good luck to all who are waiting for interview .

And we are done! Attended Oath Ceremony at Paramount Theatre in Oakland and now Officially a US Citizen!
Went to Social Security Office right after didn't need to wait 2 weeks after Oath to update status
After Social Security Office applied for US Passport at USPS and paid fees.
US Passport will arrive in 6-8 weeks!

    Our journey is complete!

Hello, I got RFE after waiting about 21 months and response to USCIS within 2 weeks. Then a week later my case status updated to “case was  transferred and a new office has jurisdiction” what’s expect next? So my case going to schedule for an interview? Anyone has a similar situation?

My case was transferred to NBC too 4 months ago and yesterday my N400 is scheduled. Usually it depends on the local office how long it takes to get interview. I hope it’s going to bebcombo interview because my i751 is still pending.

    Update:

My case was originally WAC and on November 20 I received a case update saying "Case Transferred and new Office has Jurisdiction" (I applied for n-400 in October).

Some days after I received a NOA stating that they "completed a preliminary review of the application listed above. As part of standard processing, we transferred your case to the USCIS office listed below that has jurisdiction over your case. That office will notify you in writing when they make a decision on your case or they need additional information"

    The office is NBC.

Weird thing is that in November 21 I received another case update saying  "Case Transferred and new Office has Jurisdiction". I have no idea of what that means. Maybe it was sent to the local office this time? I am hoping to receive another NOA, because the case status says "We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case".

I recently did the Biometrics for my N-400 and they mentioned that they will probably do a combo interview.

Just waiting for the best now. Trying to be patient.

A curiosity: because there is no NBC option for the I-751 processing times, I checked for "All Offices" and the estimated time is 19.5 to 37 months. The receipt date for case inquiry is November 25, 2016:blink:

It would be funny if it wasn't tragic.

    Happy Holidays for everyone!

My case is from wac too (April 2018).

I did applied N400  as soon as I was eligible and soon I got same letter and it has been more then 4 months. Still waiting and my processing time shows April 2020, But I heard the wait time depends the local office too.

    Hi Family

I just checked my status and i was told my case has been transferred to a new office for jurisdiction

Mine was transferred and it has been more than 2 months and I’m still waiting. Which is your field office? It depends on the field office too

Got a letter last week that they transferred my case to NBC. I am a joint N400 and I751 filer. Not sure what it means but still waiting for interview notice. Saw couple folks in SJ office got interview notice. Anyone got the same letter?

Hello, littleitaly, how long did it take you to receive interview once after transferred to NBC? Mine was transferred since 3 weeks and still no news

    thank you

After my case was transferred, I raised an inquiry after 60 days, as at that moment is was already (I thought) outside the normal processing time (meanwhile is was expanded to 19-22 in stead of the 17-19 months)

Nevertheless two weeks later I had my appointment, answer of the inquiry was that my case was at my local office.

All in all it took for me about 22 months.

    Good luck.

    Thank you John

Mine says transferred to "another" office and got the letter saying to NBC.

I know it depends on case bases but does anyone know on average how long does it take once the file is sent to NBC?

Hello, I know your case must have approved by now. But I wonder how long it takes after receiving notice that your case have been transfer to other office (NBC)? My case was transfer since 3 weeks and still I haven’t heard anything from NBC

    Thank you

    Hi Guys,

I've received a I-797C Notice of Transfer in the mail today. The transfer is dated 03/07/2018 and the address on the envelope was the California Service Center. The notice of transfer states the following:

"We have completed a preliminary review of the application or petition (("your case") listed above. As part of standard processing, we transferred your case to the USCIS office listed below that has jurisdiction for your case. That office will notify you in writing when they make a decision on your case or if they need additional information:

NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER, P{O BOX 648005, Lee's Summit, MP 64064".

Here's a reminder on my case, which is a regular, non-military, non-waiver ROC:

    Applied I-751 to CSC. NOA1 February 21, 2017

Biometrics in March 2017 and then nothing until last week.

    Applied N-400 online on February 18, 2018.

    N-400 NOA1 February 18, 2018

My biometrics appointment is tomorrow (March 13, 2018)

February 25, 2018: I-751 receipt number mysteriously 'activates' with 'We received your case'

February 26, 2018: 'We received your case'

March 5, 2018: 'We received your case' although that update has disappeared out of the history.

March 7, 2018 around 1pm:  I got bombarded with 10 text messages and 1 email saying they had updated my case (I-751 number). My case status changes to:

    my_logo.png

Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction

On March 8, 2018, we transferred your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WAC17XXX, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by April 7, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addre

When I call the automated case checker line it says it's been transferred to CSC????:"

On March 8, 2018 I get another update but it's the same thing.

Anyway, looks like my case is on it's way to the NBC,  and I suspect after that it'll be transferring to my local office. I'm guessing this is for a combo I-751/N-400 interview?

I have a Mis-Infopass tomorrow, so I'll ask and report back.

Hello Derwood, I received the same email today. Does that mean my combo interview is on the way? 😋 I filed my i751 in April 2018 and n400 in April 2019.
