No, no pending ROC case
Thank you. Are you an online filer and when did you do FP?
I apologize for so many questions. Just trying to understand how they are scheduling interview. My family filed on May 2 but we have not received anything at all. I spoke to IO last month and was told that cases are in line for interview.

Had the interview today and got approved, now just waiting for the oath ceremony letter.
Good luck for all the filers
Congrats on Approval. Hopefully your spouse can come here soon.

@CoffeeVegan My husband applied May 12th and we got his interview letter on Thursday last week. He is scheduled for October 4th. This is WAY faster than we anticipated!
@enriquezae Does your husband have a pending ROC case?

May be by mistake they published those dates 2 weeks earlier. This thought just scares me. We will only know about it on 9/1
Back to 8.5 months

More like a closed lane lol

No news at all for last 3 weeks

Makes more sense now. Didn't make any logical sense why the processing time would jump 3 months in such a short time-frame.

Processing time has gone back to 5 to 14.5 months. @pran34 Can't understand what happened on USCIS website

Probably you may not see updates on Visa Journey or any other tracker. Timelines on almost all website indicate that they have processed case until April 2018. Don't see any pending except for couple of ROC cases here and there. So don't know what's going. lol. Don't want to feel down, but I feel down because of unpredictability of timelines. Don't know what to expect. Can't plan any trip. Was going to buy tickets for couple of trips in Nov/Dec. Just don't know what to do.
Checked couple of websites and almost all applications filed between April 2017 and May 2018 have been called for interview (or the user has not logged in for more than 6 months so probably they are done) except for very few ROC cases. So either they will start calling May 2018 cases in a month's time or there are pending cases for folks who don't register on any website and are not concerned with delay
Let's hope for the best.

Yup you are right. These numbers are from 2 months back. Their processing time estimate is a joke. Who cares what happened 2 months back! You get a better idea from VJ trackers.
Oh well. Hope to see some updates from Detroit folks soon!

Think of it, they were processing Nov/Dec 2017 2 months back. Which makes 8 months to process those cases (completion in Aug 2018). May be it will change back to 4 to 5 months in 2 month's time.

Wow. This changed like in 2 weeks by 3.5 months. Receipt date for case inquiry April 30 2017. Omg. This is becoming more like other backlogged field offices.
Think of it, 3 weeks back they sent interview invites to folk in first week of May 2018. Can''t understand how they process cases. In a span of 4 months, it has gone from 8 to 4 to 5 to 8.5 months.

I believe the IOs work five days, they are just not open to the public or schedule any interviews on Mondays.
Thanks Bill. In Boston, they are open to public all 5 days. So it does seems, we are at a disadvantage. Also it is so difficult to get Infopass appointments in Detroit. Looks like you can get only ones 2 weeks in future. Rarely I have seen availability of open slots within 2 week time period.

Does anyone knows why detroit field office only works 4 days even when they have a backlog of 10,000 N-400 applications.
I am looking at other field offices like boston, that has same number of backlog and they have 2 offices and work all 5 days.

Hello visajoruney family,
My N400 application was received by the by the Chicago office last Tuesday. I was anticipating to get the NOA of receipt over the weekend however I did not get it. I see everyone had their NOA usually generation the next day. How long does it take to actually get the NOA?
If you are a paper filer, I recommend that you wait for 2 weeks. In May it took me 9 calendar days to get receipt through USPS mail. But it could take upto 2 weeks (guess based on time reported by people) if the number of application is more. If you sent G-1145 form with your application, you should receive text in 5 to 10 days (it's a guess based on time reported by people).
Thanks

We got the interview letter update email. 3 from my family had applied. 2 of us are scheduled for the 26th Sept and 1 on the 27th Sept.
Can someone pls update this in the list. I do not want to meddle with it and mess it up. Better to leave it to the pros. - Thank you.
What is your local field office?

She said it was something to do with being the last person of the day and hadn’t had time. Not like I was going to argue with her haha. She even got me to sign my new name how I want it thank. My certificate.
Hopefully you will get approved in a couple of days.

Trying to, thanks. Weird because she even told me where I’d go for Oath Ceremony.
It is weird. I thought they are suppose to go through your file before interview so that they can clarify any questions they may have.

Made it back to the US yesterday, hardly had any sleep, but was able to get paperwork together. Heading to Detroit just before 10 am. I’m struggling to stay calm and feel panicky. My case has been complicated and I hope I’m not going to be asked too many questions about my first abusive marriage ( as I obtained my GC through VAWA and having been in removal
proceedings previously) as it’s upsetting. Keep thinking what happens if I’m denied ?
It won't happen. Have faith and don't worry. You will do good. Stay calm. All the best.
Whatever happens, you will still have folks who love and support you.

Anyone got interview letter this week for Detroit field office?
-
2 minutes ago, pran34 said:
Based on the data i compiled, you will most probably hear from them within 3 weeks.
At this time, I will take that.
I just don't like the idea of going for interview/oath ceremony in winter, which makes things unpredictable.
-
Another point is in last 4 weeks they have sent interview invites to folks from March to May. This week it has been March end. So I am hoping they will start touching May cases in 1 to 2 months time.

Those processing time data is from two months back, so it's pretty much useless to understand what's going on currently.
Detroit has around ~9800 N400 cases pending. and they process around 4000-4500 cases every quarter. So it's going to take at least 6 months on an average. A few lucky ones got done sooner but it's becoming rare now.
That's not true. I know 2 applicants who filed in May and have interview scheduled for late August. Not sure how they pull cases. One of them filed 90 prior to completion of 5 years. Got interview date before completion of 5 years. This case is not different from my case except I was 2 months past my 5 years when I filed my case. So they are pulling cases with weird criterias. One just needs to be lucky I guess.
9000 pending cases may mostly be ROC cases and cases with extended review. Based on demographic and work, I am guessing there are lot of folks filing based on marriage in Michigan area (I could be wrong though).

Detroit processing time went to 5 to 14.5 months (from 4 to 13 months)
Date for case inquiry to May 31 2017 (from July 12 2017)...Expect some delays.

Not sure about movement. Atleast I know 4 other people from 1st week of May who have not been scheduled. couple of them are in line to be scheduled for interview status. I don't know probably they are drawing lots They did this with March folks in April/May and then came back to remaining folks from March after 2-3 months.
