  3. Hey peeps!

    Congrats Jakeswife! Had no doubts!

Gill, there is not much he can do at this point, without the divorce, he can't file on his own behalf. He may be able to request another interview date. But, that may be pointless because the wife is not available for the interview.

He can check with Vital Records to see if the wife filed the divorce without him. Sadly, he should have handled his business instead of running off to NY. I bet the wife got the interview letter.

That's what I thought too Jaws. Thanks for the response. How's the shoulder!?

    Gill

    P.S.-Congrats Isles!!!

  4. Afternoon Family,

Question: I was in the middle of a wonderul conversation with my friend, Mrs. Legz last night. When Ken bursts in with his friend and tells me "Carlos needs immigration assistance! Tell Kim-Kim(Gurl, I told him your name-but em prefer Kim-Kim) yuh will call har back!"

So here's the deal...don't know if 'we' :D can help Carlos, but I told him I'd ask.

Carlos arrived in FL. from JA. in 2000-2001 on an entertainment visa. He met a Girl, got married. She filed for him and he recieved his all of his conditonal documents (2 yr. GC, EAD,...etc). They filed for his conditions to be lifted in 2003-2004(?) and to recieve his permanent GC. He never recieved his Perm GC. Carlos and the Girl broke -up. He came to NY and she...well we don't know where the devil she is. When he consulated with an attorney they told him USCIS had sent him an interview letter (which they never recieved) and since he didn't show up at the interview. The perm GC was never issued.

Now what does he do? He and the Girl never divorced...but as I mentioned he has no idea where to find her.

    Thanks for your help, Gang.

    Bless-ed,

    Gill

P.S.- I JUST found out what happened to NowMrs. and I am honestly devasted. Does anyone know how she is doing?

  6. I need some words of encouragement!!!

For some reason, I'm just feeling down. :help::help:

    Maybe it's just hormones...I don't know.

Maybe it's the gray look outside because the weather sucks in DC right now.

Or maybe I'm getting the winter blues.:cry:

oh kk i get that too i think it's called seasonal depression. i looked outside the house last year and i was feigning to come visit jamaica. i know i will have to suck it up and deal with it. :energy::dancing: sing with me kk cuumbaya my lord cuumbaya , louder kk louder cuumbaya my lord. again

    I'm singing.... :rofl::rofl:

 KK, just know you are not alone! I keep looking at my JA pics and sighing! I told Ken this morning..."The worst part about you being HERE is I can't visit you THERE!! We just need a distraction...go to the movies. Or do what I do...Make a tall glass of Mango rum & sprite, put on some dancehall or Bob and lay under my hot, bright reading lamp...close my eyes and tell my family not to disturb me for 30 minutes cause I'm going to Jamaica!! Mi soon come!!

  7. Hey Lawns :luv: Been around...busy at work...not feeling so great :dead:

    Dear xxx,

The management and staff of www.Sams247.com and Sam's Caribbean Marketplace wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

In the spirit of the season, and as part of our on-going 15th anniversary celebration, we wish to extend to our US-based customers a very special, limited-time offer:

SHIP ANY PACKAGE, UP TO 30 POUNDS, FOR $5.99.

We will ship your package by FedEx Ground or USPS Priority Mail, up to 30 pounds in weight, to any USA or USA military address, for just $5.99. This is a great time to shop for your Christmas cakes (rum cakes), your sorrel, your raisins, or whatever else you've been eyeing, but didn't want to pay the full shipping cost.

This very generous offer begins Wednesday, December 10 and expires on Saturday, December 13, 2008. (This cutoff date will give us ample time to get your goodies to you early for the holidays.)

By the way, why don't you surprise and delight someone with a Sam's Gift Card this holiday? What a great idea!

    Sincerely,

    Andrew Morris,

    www.Sams247.com & Sam's Caribbean Marketplace, Inc.

P.S.: Frozen foods, such as Jamaican patties, are excluded from this offer. Customers whose packages weigh over 30 pounds will be contacted with further information

    .

    Yaads,

Yuh still loyal tuh Sam's eeh? That's Ken's favorite store. It is right next to his weekend job! He just likes to go in there buy some Golden Krust patties (according to him "hit not as good as Juicy patty...but dem haffi duh!") . Then he just wanders around like a kid in a candy store telling me the last time he had this or that! HOT DYAM MESS!!

Portland...so sorry to hear all the drama...but happy your honey is home with you now. I think I would feel more at ease having DHL deliver it. Then, you have a way to track it, and the liability stays on them. If they release it to your SO cousin, they could say that your letter waived them of any liability to the package.

I know it will all work out in the end.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the prayers...I finally had a good night's rest.

    YEAH JAW-JAW, :luv:

So happy fuh hear seh yuh a FINALLY gettin' a good night's sleep? How's the healing and work going?

    Love ya,

    Gill

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry2442165

  9. Good Morning all,

I am sitting here with the Mister, I see Claire updated you all. So when my SO when to pick up his package they gave him an enevlope and told him to open it to make sure everything was correct, when he open it, it was just his passport in it, he told he lady that their should be a bigger envelope she said No that is all there is. So he asked me and I knew from what i read that their should be another enevelope that he not suppose to open but since they didnt send it I thought maybe they change the prcocess. When he got to JFK they asked him fro the envelope which he didnt have. They send him to the litttle room and held him their for almost 3hs. He said the immigration officer was very mean and just wanted to send him back home, but Thank God their was another immigration officer their that suggested they give him a 30 day permit. They also called the

Jamaican embassy who told them they did send the envelope, so they kept asking him if he sure he didnt leave it at home he said no I never got it. Hold and behold DHL has the other package, they are tellling us its not their fault they didnt know it was suppose to be two package and want to charge us $70 to send it here.

What a bunch of #######!!! I am so sorry Portland! I now know why DHL is going out of business. I would pay the blasted $70 and write a scathering letter to DHL, the Embassy and USCIS to let them know exactly what you have been through! DISGRACEFUL!! I'm just happy they found the package!!

  10. Amen Lita, and if ur not strong u quickly ca n lose what u fought so hard for

Gilli..how Kenny (do no tell him mi call h im so :) ) and job ting

    Mawning family,

Kenny (hehe) is alright. He is working at a club on Friday/Saturday nights doing coat check/bartending. Girl, I love the stories he comes home with! How Girls leave there numbers for him (in their coats or write it on the tips they give him! ). I just laugh, cause I know my Boo and that ain't his style. "Dem likkle pickney gal dem cyan't duh nuttin' fuh mi right ya now!"

He is such a worker ant...that it's been hard on him. I never met a man that LOVES to work! But he does. My family LOVES him. They are all finding little odd jobs to do around their houses, cause they know Ken's not down with handouts. So my one Aunt had him pack a barrel for her. Another had him paint her house, another had him put up some windows for her...I'm blessed to have them.

I know his self-esteem was suffering the last few months...b/c you know how Yard men stay they have to feel like they are contributing. I just kept telling him...no worries...we are in this together and hey I am the real reason you can't work right now...I should have filed your AOS/EAD/AP sooner. So he knows there is more than enough blame to go around...so don't try to hog it all  !

I think the realism of America not being as 'easy' as he once thought is also starting to hit home. Like we always say there are somethings that no matter how much you try to explain to them...they HAVE to see & FEEL it for themselves.

No lie...life is hard...but we are FINALLY together, so it make it all worthwhile...and we know "this too shall pass!" As Kenny says "Not hevery day deh sea will be rough...one day it haffi calm!" And I am still happy as a clam to have my Kenny here ...finally!! :luv:

    Bless-ed,

    Gill

Hi Gilly. So glad to hear from you. You've been on my mind lately.

Same here Chica...I just asked Tre about you last night! Hey...great minds think alike!!

    All is well in MO?

  11. Hi Shaunsgirl,

This is also my 2nd marriage. I takes patience, trust & communication. In addition we are absolutely committed to making this marriage work.

I also know that I am not perfect. So I look inward to see what I can change next time...because basically the only person I can truly change is myself. Remind yourself why you decided to marry this man.

For me even my VJ name reminds me every day that this marriage is til death do us part...period. (My husband's last name is Young.)

Good luck to you both and don't forget to pray! All is possible through him!

    Bless-ed,

    Gill

  12. Lawny i thought u would have to do everything in Kingston?

You're right Kimmy. You HAVE to do EVERYTHING in Kingston!! A few of my friends had the wrong police record when they went to MoBay police station. It in downtown Kingston, near the bus terminal! Good luck Culture!

  13. *********NEWS FLASH!***********

Did you Guys hear that the Governor of IL. was busted by the feds for trying to sell Obama's seat in the Senate to the 'highest bidder'?? Yuh know people always trying to turn something so wonderfully positive into a negative!! TOTALLY DISGUSTING!!

    From MSNBC:

CHICAGO - Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich embarked on "political corruption crime spree" and tried to benefit from his ability to appoint President-elect Barack Obama's replacement in the U.S. Senate, federal officials said Tuesday.

At a news conference in Chicago on Tuesday, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald called it a sad day for the citizens of Illinois and alleged that the governor tried to "auction off" the Senate seat "to the highest bidder".

He said the alleged behavior "would make (Abe) Lincoln roll over in his graveBlagojevich was arrested hours earlier.

A 76-page FBI affidavit said the 51-year-old Democrat was intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps over the last month conspiring to sell or trade the vacant Senate seat for personal benefits for himself and his wife, Patti.

Fitzgerald said federal investigators bugged Blagojevich's campaign offices and placed a tap on his home phone.

In Illinois, the governor selects a successor when there is a mid-term Senate vacancy. Obama resigned from the Senate soon after winning the Nov. 4 presidential election.

    'Truly a new low'

He alleged that the governor wanted "tangible and up front" cash in return for appointing Obama's successor.

Fitzgerald accused Blagojevich of "appalling conduct" and said the governor "has taken us to a truly new low".

"He wasn't against a corrupt deal, he was against being stiffed in a corrupt deal," Fitzgerald added.

Federal prosecutors have investigated Blagojevich's administration for at least three years. The governor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Fitzgerald said federal officials were making "no allegations" that Obama was "aware of anything" in connection with the case.

The affidavit contends Blagojevich discussed getting a substantial salary for himself at a non-profit foundation or an organization affiliated with labor unions. It also says Blagojevich talked about getting his wife placed on corporate boards where she might get $150,000 a year in director's fees.

The affidavit also quotes Blagojevich as saying "I want to make money" in one conversation.

Blagojevich and John Harris, the governor's chief of staff, were each charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery.

The FBI affidavit alleges that Blagojevich also sought promises of campaign cash, as well as a cabinet post or ambassadorship in exchange for his Senate choice.

Blagojevich is accused of saying on November 3 that if he is not going to get anything of value for the open seat, then he would appoint himself to the post.

"I'm going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain," the affidavit quotes the governor as saying.

Senate seat is a 'valuable thing'

He noted becoming a U.S. senator might remake his image for a possible presidential run in 2016, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit quotes Blagojevich telling an adviser later that day that a Senate seat "is a [expletive] valuable thing, you just don't give it away for nothing."

In a conversation with Harris on November 4, the day of the election, Blagojevich is alleged to have compared his situation to that of a sports agent shopping a potential free agent to the highest bidder.

On November 5, Blagojevich allegedly told an adviser, "I've got this thing and it's [expletive] golden, and, uh, uh, I'm just not giving it up for [expletive] nothing. I'm not gonna do it."

On November 7, while talking on the phone about the Senate seat with Harris and an adviser, Blagojevich said he needed to consider his family and that he is "financially" hurting, the affidavit states.

Harris allegedly said that they were considering what would help the "financial security" of the Blagojevich family.
