Hello all,

we submitted the DS-160 for tourist visa for both of my parents. Later we noticed that the passport numbers entered on DS-160 were old passport numbers. We have already paid the visa fees but we have not scheduled the interview appointment yet. We called the UStraveldocs.com agent and they said that we can update the passport numbers on UStraveldocs.com profile as long as we have not scheduled the appointment. But I am worried because the DS_160 confirmation page as well as the visa fee receipt still shows old passport number. What should we do? Would they even let my parents inside the embassy if they notice this discrepancy ? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

So I was wondering what I can do to ensure to bring my wife together in the same flight since I don't think it is a good idea to buy her ticket without getting her visa. How can I book my return flight along with her as an added companion on the return leg?  I will have about 5-7 days after her interview date for the return flight. I am worried I might not get her ticket on the same flight itinerary if I purchase her ticket that late.

How come this facility is not abiding by it. Let me see if I can upload that document here or else will share screenshot. They can't overcharge!

Yes. I am aware of that document. Looks like they give lots of vaccines and I am OK with it as long as they are required and are well within the cost approved by the consulate. I was communicating with another person who recently had her medical done at Rele clinic who said they charged her Rs 17250. Just wanted to make sure that the charges are bona fide.

Because it's a requirement and they know that, so they bump up the price as they know you have no choice but to pay it. It does cover a lot of areas so I guess when you break down the price of x-rays, blood tests, appointment time etc it isn't that expensive. 

Yeah! Leeches everywhere. Does this happen everywhere? Don't they negotiate these price with the US Embassies/Consulate?

My wife was just told by the medical examination facility in India that it takes more than 400 dollars to do her medical. Why is it so expensive?

So what would be our next step? Should the beneficiary go for the biometrics and have photo taken from the Visa Application Center or not? I thought Biometrics was necessary only for B1/B2 and other Visa Categories.

My understanding is our next step would be medical appointment.

Yeah! I called and confirmed! Interview has been scheduled for the 24th of October! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now!!!

We are talking about Mumbai Consulate. It might be different for Lagos.

So they will start scheduling again in the end of sept for nov dates. Ur case is like mine.. u too got cc on 31st aug. So yes I guess it will be Nov. Still hope for the best

When did you get the notification of the interview schedule? My CC was August 17th but I still have not received the interview date.

I am sorry for what happened to you. It appears that you are the beneficiary of I-751 so I would suggest you act normal and file the ROC and after you get your unconditional green card, proceed with the divorce. Sticking with your wife would be toxic.

Yes it is normal. They sent my case to NVC after one month! But the good thing is they had approved my case in 2 months, so I guess I can't complain.

Yes. They say up to 3 weeks. That is a generic answer but they might complete your case much earlier than that. I called on Thursday and they said it would take up to 3 weeks but I checked on Friday and I had a case complete! You might have your case complete any day now! Good luck!!!

Mine took a week. It really differs from person to person but one week seems the average.

When u go n check your immigrant Visa application status .. what does it say.. which appears in the center in bright blue.. that's your status.

So my all documents were received by NVC and today when I checked online in CEAC, the whole AOS line is gone. I think I heard it somewhere that this means it is Case Complete. Can anybody confirm?

Hopefully soon. The mumbai counsulate being closed for 5  days in these two weeks is really gonna slow the process. 

Any idea why they moved all CR-1 visa interviews to Mumbai? Isn't it painful for people from the south, north, and the northeast?

I sent them my AOS and IV documents on the 7th. I called NVC today to check and they said they received it on the 13th of August. Any idea when I can expect CC?
