  1. Basically, her Washington state driving license means she is still a residence of Washington State. Before you send your respond back, is it possible for her to apply for a California state license. Also, are you still residing at the California address you wrote on your AOS application because USCIS might want to do a field investigation before granting any benefits since you were having difficulty in establishing a California residence? Here is my two cents; if your wife gets a California state issued license perhaps USCIS officer will continue to process the application. Albeit, it could take a while before USCIS approves the I-485. I wish all the best. Cheers!!!

  2. First of all I'm sorry about your family situation and I hope things would get better for you guys. I read through your write up and the attached word document however, you did not mention any legal document that was issued / obtained by your wife from the state of California such as driving license, state id card, income tax papers, apartment lease agreement, employment legal document(offer letter) from an employer in the state of California, W-2, bank account opened, or any other legal document which was obtained through the state of residence. I would think that any of the above items would help to establish her residence in the state of California. I know you said she spent a lot of time back and forth between California and Washington. Did she replace her Washington driving license with a California driving license? Can you document any work history in California? No matter how short it was. Perhaps one or two doctor’s office visit that will show she lived in California at one time or the other while you were married? Hopefully, other vjer’s would come along to provide more help. Good luck!

  3. Hi Missy,

Majority of the AOS applications by K-1 visa have been approved without local uscis interview. However, when you file I-751 after 21 months of receiving conditional green card USCIS will schedule an interview prior to granting your 10 year green card. Congratulations on AOS approval.:dance::dance:

  4. Hi,

We paid nothing to have medicals transferred. Below is the civil surgeon used.

Dr. Jeffrey Ryan, Michigan Avenue Immediate Care, Chicago Consulting Physicians

104 South Michigan Avenue, Suite 905, Chicago, IL 60603

    (312) 201-1234

But didn't you need to have another TB TEST DONE + BLOOD TESTS?? THATS WHAT THE DOCTOR TOLD ME...

We transferred the vaccinations records onto I-693 and that was all we asked the surgeon to do. Hopefully, USCIS won't issue us another rfe for the TB. Knock on wood!!!!

  5. Hey Guys,

I still haven't heard anything on my case I am trying to be patient but Im starting to get really worried that I probably wont get approved. Its been a month almost two since my EAD was last touched and exactly a month yesturday since they updated my AOS regarding the RFE that I sent back! I profusely check my email everyday and as soon as I see the maill man put the mail in the mailbox I ran to it, dissapointed theres nothing important in there

Im in serious need of some enlightenment and Im turning to my fellow VJers!! :(

should I call Customer Service to find out whats going on??

    Hi Meishel101,

If it will help, you can look at our timeline. We felt this way too and all of a sudden we received a transfer email. So keep your heads above water. Eventually, you will hear from them. We got an rfe which we believe set us back about a month. Be encouraged and your time will come very soon. Also, you have to wait at least 90 days from the date of NOA-1 b/4 contacting USCIS. (F)
