    Thank you for sharing.
I just got scheduled interview today for 9/19. But my I-751 is showing ready to be scheduled interview.
base on your experience, how do I know if it’s a combo interview or not.

Either give them a call, or otherwise prepare like it’s a combo interview, and get ready for civics and brush up on your I-751 forms.

Correct. But say they do schedule you for next day, at what point can you ask for certified copies? At the ceremony? With the officer at the interview?

No officer at the interview will give you certified copies of anything, because it does not yet exist. Should you have the oath ceremony scheduled the same day, like some few people on here did, then you might ask them, but ONLY after the pledge of allegiance is said at the ceremony. Nobody even gets it before then, it is handed to everyone after the ceremony of oath is over.

If you don’t mind me asking, what are you really needing the copies for? I’m a little confused.

    N400 Applied online: 02/05/2022

    Receipt and Biometric waived: 02/05/2022

Interview scheduled: 07/26/2022 at Fairfax, VA (got notice on 06/16/2022)

    Interview experience:

    Scheduled time was 12:40pm.

Got there at 12pm and waited until 12:15pm. The door had a sign saying masks are optional and I chose not to wear one.

Gave it a shot at going in early at 12:15pm (instead of 12:25pm) and trying my luck. The security guard gave me a tough time for coming early by 10 mins and not listening to some of his instructions, which I swear I did not hear him say. They still let me go through the security check and asked me to go to the second floor.

I walked to the check in desk and gave my appointment notice. The lady checked me in and asked me to wait. There were around 7 people waiting there before me. 3 officers came out and called for three of them. I was expecting others to be called before me but to my surprise a officer came and called out my last name at around 12:35pm.

The officer greeted me and asked me how my day has been and how I got to the interviewing location. The officer walked me to their room and asked me to keep my documents on the table. The officer then asked me to raise my right hand and take the oath. At the end, I said “Yes, I do”.

The officer then asked me to sit down and hand over my interview notice, Green Card and passport. The officer said we’ll first go through the civics, reading and writing test and grabbed my documents.

    Civics test:

    1. Name one American Indian tribe in the US - Cherokee
    2. What is one power of the federal govt- to print money
    3. What is the highest court in US- the Supreme Court
    4. Who is our current president- Joe Biden
    5. There are four amendments in the constitution about who can vote. Describe one amendment- Citizens 18 and older can vote
    6. What do we call the first ten amendments to the constitution? - the Bill of Rights

The officer stopped after question 6 as I got all answers right.

    Reading test:

The officer pointed me to a tablet screen that showed “How many Senators do we have?” and asked me to read it aloud.

    Writing test:

The officer then asked me to write on the tablet screen with a touch pen “We have 100 senators”. He repeated this sentence twice and asked me to write hundred numerically.

The officer then moved on to my N400 application and verified my name, DOB, current nationality, address, job details etc… The officer asked me if I have ever been arrested. I answered No.

The officer then showed a summary of my information on the tablet screen and asked me to sign a couple times. The officer had a big file on the desk with all my previous applications and supporting documents. It was surprising to see them have all my paper work.

The officer printed out a paper and pointed that I passed the civics, reading and writing test and they are recommending my case for approval. The officer returned my documents and congratulated me.

The officer also mentioned that I should be receiving my oath ceremony appointment in next 2 weeks and will need to get the printed paper they handed over to me, GC and passport.

The officer then walked me out and showed me the exit door. I walked out of the building, looked my watch and it was 12:41pm. So the interview only lasted a total of 6-7 minutes.

Checked my phone around 12:44pm and saw two USCIS emails that the N400 case status was changed to approved and that I had been placed in queue for Oath ceremony.

Almost done with this process. Cannot wait to get done with Oath and start the US passport process.

Congrats!! I had a very similar experience  and I’m so happy you for you, fellow February filer!

Congratulations! I am assuming your I-751 has been adjudicated before you applied for N-400? (Also from Russia, divorce waiver, still waiting to remove the conditions and just applied for N-400) :)

I had my conditions were removed back in 2019, so I’m ways out of the 3 year rule, didn’t need a divorce waiver. I just waited to apply based on the 5 year rule. I definitely didn’t see my life taking this turn with the divorce thing, but hey, I gotta make a Lemonade out of it - right, lol?

    Good luck to you :)

Hey I applied Feb, 2022 and on June 13th They issued me an invitation to the interview (that I received by mail like 13 days later, thanks USPS). So keep checking your online account, not like daily but at least every few days.

I applied based on the 5 year rule.

My interview is next week at the field office in Halethorpe. I will certainly put all the details here after the interview!

I would definitely recommend studying the questions already now, little by little :)

UPDATE: I had my interview today (Baltimore Field office) and I passed (as she said with the perfect score on all questions, ha!).

    Details:

    Applied Feb 5, 2022

    Biometrics Reused - Feb 6, 2022

    Interview Scheduled - June 13, 2022

    Interview Date: July 18, 2022, 11:30 AM

    - Walked in, they said no worries about me not having the original of my passport, they can do the interview without it (HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF ON MY END, as it is stuck with the UK embassy for a visa stamp)

    - Waited about 8 minutes, was called to the interview office, escorted to a room.

    - In the room - my interviewer was actually connected via "FaceTime" - on the iPad. She was remote. I did not expect it. I am not certain if that is a covid measure or not, but it is what it is.

    - She asked me if I am going to say the truth etc. - I said yes. She asked me to put the green card, and my govt. ID on the table (I guess they have cameras on the ceiling)

    - She proceeded to the 6 civics questions (longest river, what did the declaration of the independence do, how many years is the representative selected for, why are there 50 stars on the US Flag, There are 4 amendments to the constitution about who can vote  - describe one of them)

    - she then asked me to write a sentence, on an iPad (sentence was: Washington is the capital)

    - she then moved on to my application, Yes/no questions

    - She asked me about 6-8 Questions about my application:

:: Spell my name, any other names used (I have other past names).

:: How many times I was away from the US (I said 14 but it was 15 because I recently went to Canada like 2 weeks ago but I forgot about it, no offense to the Canadians lol). So she said - maybe it was 14? you went to Canada it seems? I was like oh yes, It is 14, sorry I forgot about the Canadian trip since it was after the application! She was totally cool with it and chuckled.

:: She asked my place of employment, asked my marital status (I am divorced from the US Citizen I was granted the K-1 with and green card with. I am applying on the 5yr rule though)

:: She asked how many times I was married, who I was married to

:: If my parents are/were US Citizens

    - She then asked to tell me if I am going to support the US, be ready to serve the US Military, if called, etc. etc.

She then said she is recommending my case for approval, because she has no further questions or concerns (she didn't ask me for the latest Tax Return, which I brought with me).

Then I read over the Oath, acknowledged it, and signed it (on the iPad).

She then printed out the paper (remotely, to the printer that was in front of me), but it didn't have my name on it LOL, but had someone else's name (which I told her).

She then printed the "right paper", but I now understand there were pages missing.

She said the oath ceremony is 1 week from this Saturday. So next Saturday, Jul 30. Thanked me, and I was escorted out of the room, by another person.

Here is the deal: later today, I open my USCIS to see if I have any updates, and it does have a letter of "Case approved, Oath ceremony has been scheduled" but the date is NOT next Saturday, Jul 30... but August 25, 2022... (which is more than a month away). I have no issues waiting, but I wanted to make sure I knew which information was correct so I called the USCIS Line today, got to the representative and she confirmed I should go by what the letter says. She said probably by the time your interview was over - the July 28th date got booked up, so they bumped you to the next one. Sad, but hey its okay. I AM APPROVED!!

I remember you too well. I was worried for you.  Im the one that told you I had submitted my passport for renewal and was waiting on mine. Mine just came in on friday along with my expired passport so I would have both whenever my interview is called.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for worrying about me!! I am so glad you are in the clear with your passport. Mine has been delayed at the embassy and that is WITH priority fees ugh. I am so thankful that this is the last visa I will have to receive.

and PS - Yup my oath ceremony has been bumped by 1 month, because the July 28th date probably got filled up by the time my interviewer went to book me. OH WELL. I am still happy!!!

  7. Hi guys, sending an update here. I was the one a couple of weeks ago posting about the original of my current passport being with the UK embassy and while it was there I was scheduled for the N400 interview, and I was obviously freaking out.

Ask me any questions - I am here to help. If what I said is confusing - let me know what else I can provide, I am still in shock of this step being over (yay!) and my oath date being wrong (nay).

  9. Ugh, guys, I posted here last week about my interview for N400 being scheduled (quite soon) and is happening in the next 2 weeks. I recently went to apply for the UK Visa though (traveling for a wedding) and my passport (original) is still with the UK VISA center. Of course I didn’t have any interview invitations when I went, otherwise I wouldn’t have gone. I followed up with the UK embassy folks and they keep saying “it’s processing”, which is not helpful.

The Interview invitation receipt says even if I don’t have all the documents, I should still keep the interview date. However, a passport seems like a big deal not to have with me… any thoughts/ideas..? Also calling the USCIS office has gotten significantly harder as well.

Oh wow! Congrats on almost being done. Wish u a successful interview. Please keep us posted. Don’t forget to take with you hard copies you submitted and anything that changed since filing.

    did you file online?

also where is your field office?

Thank you! I will bring allllll those documents haha.
yup, filed online on Feb 5,  and Field office is Baltimore, MD!

  11. Hi Team! I have just received approval for my i-751, hoping to receive 10 year GC in the mail in the next 2 weeks. Have started on collecting all the evidence possible for this :) YET AGAIN lol. And planning to apply in the next 2 weeks. (I am already eligible since this past February - just been waiting for i-751). Thank you for starting this thread and looking forward to soaking in all the info - for one last USCIS application process (hopefully!).

I am so nervous. Waiting to hear about my 10 year green card after applying to remove the conditions. Sent in the petition in March 2018, got notice that it was received on 04/13/2018. Did biometrics on 07/06/2018 and then the last thing I've heard from USCIS is that my case was transferred from VCS to TCS on 03/20/2019. Receipt number is EAC181525****. I see people with receipt numbers higher than mine already got their case approved but still no word on mine. Really nervous now. Maybe I shouldn't be since we had no issues with my initial petition. I don't know. I hate this waiting game.

Me too. My case was received on 03/22/18 never heard anything until now.

Hey I think there are a couple of people in your shoes on this thread. I was also tracking the numbers and saw that ppl before were being approved. I was also transferred to Texas in March (a week before you) and heard nothing until last week. I feel like they really picked up the cases in these past 2 weeks - so hopefully the end is near! good luck and keep us posted!

Finally, some progress. The new site has been stuck at “case received” the entire time and the old site never recognised my case number until today when it updated to “card ordered”.

    CSC, WAC18195XXXX

    - Mailed 4/27/18

    - NOA 6/4/18

    - Biometrics Waiver (Feb 2019)

    - Biometrics completes 5/9/19

    - Card Ordered 8/1/19

No interview (but was interviews during AOS).

    No RFE.

Did NOT file N400 and won’t bother until the 5 year mark. We are over sending documents and justifying my marriage.

Of course until the the card is in my hand, I’m not at the finish line yet.

    Good luck to those waiting!

Yeah I lost faith in the ‘new’ site a long time ago. For me - only the old one ever worked. Ideally they would invest all the time into actually APPROVING cases and not updating two databases because it’s a waste of time. But wait.. that’s USCIS so I’m not surprised!

Why 5 year mark specifically? Lol just curious. I’m also thinking when to apply for N400

I am seeing people who applied after me getting approved and I am really getting nervous.

I applied April 16 to VSC and transferred to Texas March 20. I see people around my number being approved.

    What should I do?

    Please help

Hi! Based on your dates - I approved a little before you and got transferred a little before you, so don’t be nervous!

While waiting i also was tracking numbers and noticed noticed that some people were 20-25 numbers ahead of me with similar timelines and they got approved before me.

Its okay! USCIS is a mess. I am sure that you will get an approval email/status update any time now!

    Don't lose patience!

On July 25, 2019, we mailed your new card for your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EAC181525**** to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by August 9, 2019, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

VSC originally transferred to TSC in March, finally!!!   Thanks everyone for the help and support, good luck for those still waiting

OMG CONGRATS!!! That gives me SO much hope as my number is so close to yours!

Thank you for answering my questuon, Yes I do have 18th month extension, and it is as well nearly approaching to end. I tried to reach info pass in sacramento but it says they don’t do walk in and scheduled appointment. That’s why i am so worried. I’ve seen a lot of people got approved for April from CSC and my case update is still about fingerprint received in June 5.

If you filed in April, and have an 18 month Extension, assuming your Green card Expired some time in June 2018, you should be good till about December 2019 with your 18 month extension. However yes you can get a stamp if my math and assumptions are incorrect :)

We will notify you when your case status changes.

LOL that might mean they are ACTUALLY REVIEWING IT!!!! - but your message is hilarious lol. I think working with USCIS (oh wait - waiting for THEM TO WORK) - has improved my sense of humor for suuureeee LOL.
