Christonacrutch. He didn't sing, "warm, effing warm, reaching out, effing me.... effing you!"
It was written 40 years ago, and those words were innocent back then. What's wrong with people.
I love that song.
People want to start drama because they have sad lives and don't appreciate good music when they hear it.

Congrats, cshell!

Green card and passport are all you need. A few changes of clothes, clean underpants, etc. might do well, too.

So your husband is the USC, and had been arrested before. So all that information was already in your file, right? So she knew the answers already.... Was the crime that your husband arrested for minor? (I'm not asking you to elaborate what the crime was, that is none of my business...)

Freaks and Geeks
YES!! One of the best shows ever. It was cast by the same woman who cast The Office, too.

My company just had huge huge huge layoffs. Over 2,000. Fortunately my job was spared.

One thing popped in mind - she's very talkative in the car to the point that it's distracting me from paying attention to the road. When I tell her how distracting it is and she gets offended.
My husband took his driving test today, and the man who tested him did not stop talking the ENTIRE time. Not, "turn here, turn there," but his life story. He could have driven down a one way street the wrong way, and the guy wouldn't have even noticed!
I'm less neat than my husband, and he gets really annoyed when I leave bills on the end table with my laptop. He doesn't want to see a mess. The last time there was a little pile there, he said something about it, and I said something immature back, and I moved EVERYTHING off the end table. He went to work, by the time he got home I was in bed.
The next morning when I got up, I saw that he had moved a couple of things back. So I moved them off again (maybe that was a little immature too). He said, "Are you seriously going to fight about this again today?" That shamed me.

I think your chances for getting an expedite are very good under these circumstances. We got our K-1 interview at the consulate moved up by 2 months because of an emergent medical situation where it was helpful for Marlene to be with me.
I can tell you that getting an expedite with the DOS through the embassy is a lot different and easier than getting an expedite through the Department of Homeland Security and USCIS. As I said, doesn't hurt to try...but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Mine was expedited at Vermont, not at the embassy.

It is most definitely dependent on each individual relationship. No one can tell you that you're doing the right thing or the wrong thing. Of course it's very hard to look at your own relationship objectively, but if you're asking the question, then there's something telling you that something is wrong for you, in your particular situation.
If you have all the money in the world, and don't mind giving your money away so he can live in Italy, then that works for you... but it doesn't sound like that is the case.
That being said, I don't think it bodes well for your relationship for you to tell him you're going to "cut him off" - that sounds more like a parent/child relationship to me, and it sounds like a threat. I think having an adult conversation with him about it would be prudent, along with halting any funds you are sending him for the time being.

Get documentation from your fiance's doctors, if there is a social worker of some kind at the hospital, have him or her write a letter as well. Write a cover letter explaining the situation. Once you get the NOA1, send them this documentation with a copy of the NOA1.
Expedites should be no more than 5 pages, including your cover letter.
Good luck.

I have known of a case when they expedited when the petitioner is currently undergoing documented treatment for cancer. But not always. So, I hope for your sake that's not the case.

Can I put in a request to be specific in the Wiki topic titles? Awesome that September filers is created!
Might be best to also title it K1, K3, AOS, etc etc.
I was just going to suggest that, because "September filers" doesn't specify what was filed. Also maybe the year: September 2007 K-1, or September 2007 AOS, etc.

I was the first person to be graced with his company for hours on end.
Lucky you!

Angela looks like every Hollywood movie producer's second wife.
I'm not sure I know what that means.

Seriously - glad you're out of there and safe. Mother's a #######, no sympthy or empathy, bad crime and did time? Definite sociopathic qualities. People around don't always stop this kind of guy. I'm not typically one to exaggerate - whoever asked you to sit at this open house really put you in danger, Lisa.
Anyways, glad you're safe. Don't go back, mmmmkay?

Maybe I didn't phrase the question properly.
If one's EAD is approved, generally how long after the EAD approval is the AP approved? I suspect that there is some relationship between the approvals. I was wondering what other's experience is in terms of EAD approval and AP approval.
Then, when the EAD and AP are approved, does the GC approval occur within a certain period of time? ie if the EAD and AP are approved quick does this mean the GC will be approved quick or if the EAD and AP are approved slowly does this mean that the GC will be approved slowly also?
As jasman said, there's a link at the top of the page for stats.
No, whether the EAD is approved quickly has no bearing on if your AOS will be approved quickly. All EADs are supposed to be approved within 90 days. AOS can take a lot lot longer than that. Or it can be as short as 4 months. It's all individual.
-
Yes, if you want to apply for AP and EAD now, long after you've filed for AOS (in April, I think you said), you will have to pay the new fees for filing for AP & EAD:
EAD - $340
AP - $305
If you had filed after July 30 (with the fee increase), you would only have had to attach your NOA for your AOS to the forms. Unfortunately, you're going to get hit with the fee increase for these individual filings.
Good luck.

I'm pretty sure there's someone else on VJ who is in a very similar situation. I believe (and I can't confirm) that they received AOS approval recently...
Anyone remember that??

I guess I don't have an opinion because my husband isn't an ogler. He's not really even a watcher. Definitely not in the "OMG, he's looking at another WOMAN!! #######?!?!" kind of way. Maybe in the "should I get that dress or those sunglasses?" kind of way. I'm sure I wouldn't like if anyone I was with was more interested in someone else than with me (could that really happen?).
I'm more of a watcher than my husband is (which makes me a hypocrite). Put me at an outdoor cafe on Newbury St. and I cannot concentrate on my mac n' cheese because there's so much going on. But as far as "looking" goes, I can only remember one time when I've actually been struck by how good looking someone was - I was in a restaurant on Charles St., and there was the BEST looking couple I had ever seen in my life, in print, on tv, anything. They were just great looking people. So I ogled.
But, I didn't want to go home with the guy. I'm sure most oglers, watchers, whatevers, feel the same. But I do think it's disrespectful to "fall out of your chair" looking at someone, like JODO said. That's just silly.

What I don't understand is why there is so much vitriol in these threads about politics. No one will ever get anyone to change their minds (particulary dem vs. rep).
So clearly, after the "information" is passed on, why the spewing of such hatred? (A couple of you sound like my ex-husband with the aggressive anger about politics.)
