The pictures in our matching attire  that were submitted when I front loaded was from a night out  at a family function. [Clearly stated in the description of the photo] it was NOT for an engagement or even a photo shoot. We did NOT have an engagement/reception etc.. I did not know how to word it in the  description so I simply put engagement photos with a question mark..  I just hope they dont assume our matching garments were for an engagement etc.. but if the CO is familiar with Ghanaian culture and customs they will know what we are wearing is NOTHING traditional about it.... However,  I will be heading back to Ghana in a few months to help my fiance with evidence of our relationship when we get to the embassy phase.. We were thinking about having an engagement party  and to bring those photos to his interview but now I see its not a good idea. ..I appreciate the feedback.. Thanks everyone!

Because some people unfortunately don't find the forums until it's too late.
It may seem obvious to us cause we seen so many cases. But if you just read the paper forms and the requirements it doesn't seem obvious that a ceremonial engagement party could threaten your visa cause, well... you're not married. It's an honest 'mistake' to make which in my mind is not a mistake at all. I think it's ridiculius. Most embassies are very big on following native traditions but a traditional engagement ceremony all of a sudden is taboo. It's cow poo. But unfortunately ts is stuck with it now. I truly hope it wont affect your visa.

You can get the police report no problem. It is valid for 6 months and I do believe that you need to get one from SA too. But, I am not 100% sure about that.
 
For the medical you will need to have your confirmation page from scheduling your appointment. If your case has been sent to Ghana from NVC you can schedule your appointment yourself before you get the letter. The letter the embassy sends from Ghana is only informational. Just go online and fill out the DS-160 application. When you finish it will give you a confirmation code. You will need that to go to GT Bank to pay the visa appointment fee. One you have paid that you can schedule your appointment online with the embassy and get your medical done. But, you first have to have your receipt confirmation code and DS-160 code before you can schedule. Hope this helps! Goodluck!
