    Hey Guys,

I hope everyone is doing ok.

So I applied for AOS in January and I have been lucky enough to receive my greencard through on Monday. I was just wandering if anyone knows what the next steps are (if any) in terms of paperwork/SSN etc. If noone in here has received theirs yet or doesn't know, could you point me towards the relevant forum? I would appreciate it!!

Good luck to everyone still waiting!! I hope those cards start shipping out for everyone soon!!

Same i got my greencard on Monday. Go to your loca SSA office to apply for SSN if you dont have one yet. Go to DMV to apply for driver’s license if you dont have one yet. Pretty much you’re all set to start working. Congratulations! :)

We applied for AOS at the end of November and just got our interview letter. We also applied for work authorization as well at the same time and nothing happened with that. Is it normal to get the interview first and not hear about the work authorization?

I think thats the trend now. I was interviewed for AOS last tues (Mar26). The officer said since they will be mailing the greencard in 10 days so i wont be needing the EAD since it will be obsolete anyways. It may still be sent to me in the mail but it wont matter anymore since I will have the greencard.

Hi, I just got status update email and when I checked, this was the status. I applied in January 2019 also. I came as fiancee of USC and married him and applied for greencard. Does this status mean our interview will be scheduled soon or will be it another 6 months to a year? My location is Seattle. Thanks!

Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview

As of March 26, 2019, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number , for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Hi, depends. Mine changed the next day to “interview was scheduled” after i got that status update. Some say it could vary though.

Congratulations!  I think we saw you as you guys were leaving.  Our interview was 8:50 AM.  We were approved as well!  Glory to God!  Our AOS timeline is almost exactly like yours.  We applied at the end of December and were extremely surprised by how quickly we were scheduled for our interview.  Likely some of the quickness is due to being in Spokane.  Much different from our K-1 experience when it took us 5 months to get our case number.  For those still waiting, just hang in there.  Sometimes things are easy and sometimes they are a little rougher.

Ooo wow! Were you the girl who smiled at me as we were walking out?? 😳😳☺️☺️ How was your interview?

Congratulations! How was the interview? Did the officer ask for tons of proof or just the obvious things?
Lucky you.. I'm in a "immigrant sanctuary state" of New Jersey. We might get our interview scheduled between 2019 Nov, or 2035 January. Somewhere in between these dates lol

The interview went smooth, the officer was very nice. My photo and index fingerprints were taken. We were asked to stand up, raised our right hands and swear under oath that all our answers will be true. At first he asked about the details we put in the i-485 forms and the “have you ever been”

    then he asked these questions:

    How did you meet?

When and where did you meet?

When did you decide to get married?

    How did the proposal go?

What does your parents think about the match?

When and where did the wedding take place?

    Who attended the wedding?

What did you do after the wedding?

    What do you do together?

What are your future plans together?

Wow....congrats!  What was your timeline for your process from start to finish?

Definitely have the feeling it is "where" you are.  I have a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad feeling about where I am here today....UGH (as usual)...

Our timeline is 3 months plus.

Jan 9 - sent packet to uscis

Jan 17 - received text messages from uscis containing case numbers

Jan 20 - received the notices in mail (receipt date is Jan 14)

Jan 25 (or so, not exactly sure of date) - received mail for biometrics schedule

    Feb 11 - biometrics

Feb 12 - status changed to “interview is ready to be scheduled”

Feb 13 - status changed to “interview was scheduled

Feb 19 - notice for interview received in mail

March 26 - interview at 8am. 1030am, status changed to “new card is being produced”

thank you all! You guys will be next, although i know waiting is frustrating, we cant do anything about it.. i just got really lucky.. just have to have more patience in waiting. God bless us all :)

  6. Hi guys, we have completed the interview today. Praise God! The officer said they will approve our case by today and i will receive my green card in about 10 days. He said the trend as of now (at least in Spokane Wa) is that gc is most likely approved before the ead/ap. He said i might still receive the ead/ap but it will be obselete anyways. Also he said once i have the gc, i can go to ssa to apply for ssn (since i dont have one yet) and not wait for the ead application to be approved.

I think I am in a low immigrant area which is why mine was quick. For others who are still waiting, just hang on tight.

I did my biometrics today and have a question. Did you fill out any forms? I've seen a lot of people are saying you have to fill out some sort of form with biographical information?
I was only given my biometrics letter back.

Yeah i filled out a form called “Applicant Information Worksheet (AIW)” when i did my biometrics. The lady gave it back to me (original form i filled) together with the  biometrcis notice with stamp. I think you should be fine, she did not write anything on the AIW. She must have just captured the information from the form.

  8. Hi guys, glad to found this thread. We sent our AOS papers on Jan 9 and USCIS received it on Jan 14. I had my biometrics on Feb 11 and got the letter for the interview schedule on Feb 19. I have 2 questions:

    1. My husband cant file tax return including me bcos I dont have SSN yet. Can we bring the tax return for 2017 instead in the interview even though it’s tax filing season for 2018?

    2. Can my in-laws come with us in the interview? They are excited and wanted to come with us but we are all not sure if this is possible.

    thank you!

I wrote to them two weeks ago and they told me it is likely that they will schedule one for me after early Sep.

Then last week, I emailed again. They told me it is likely to schedule after late Sep. Lol. I am going crazy now.

My gosh that is sooo long. Then mine would probably in October! :(

For all Filipinos in Singapore who are also applying for K1 visa, I just want to share that I received my NSO Birth Certificate and CENOMAR documents 2 weeks after online payment! In the e-census website, it states that delivery to other countries will take 6-8 weeks after payment so it’s really a surprise receiving the documents today. No need to avail special courier services for faster delivery. It is actually more expensive than the documents because they quoted USD 48.60 with lead time of 2 to 3 working days.

Do note that CENOMAR must be sent directly from NSO to US Embassy Singapore. I just ordered an extra copy for myself ‘coz I’m curious on what’s written inside. I’m preparing my requirements ahead of time and still waiting to hear from NVC.

It’s good to know that e-census delivers faster in reality. Yay! :dancing:

Hi Pau, how do you know the right time to order the cenomar? thanks
