I just called the NVC and they have completed my case. The guy told me that it will take about 2 weeks to mail it as it has to go through customs and then Indian embassy will receive it..
Any ideas, on when do you guys think I will get the interview?
*thank you GOD*

When my husband came into the US we were already married and had already filed the I-130 from Canada. He stayed in the US and we filed AOS. We were approved. Do I reccommend doing it this way: hell no. It's soooo stressful and awful, it's not worth it. And opinions on doing this within USCIS itself are so varied, you don't know what's going to happen to you. And if they get denied at the border for immigrant intent, it's a waste of money and it can be devastating.
Example: I called our local USCIS office and asked an officer, what do we need to do in order to have my husband here in the US with me while we are waiting on his green card? I said, we are already married, but he is in Canada and I am in the US. And she said: Oh, dear. Well, the only way he's going to be able to adjust status from within the US is to come here as a visitor and then file the paperwork. He will need to be inspected by an officer when he comes in, but since you are married I don't know if they will let him in as a visitor. She was very understanding and sympathetic to the fact that I was really sad about not being with my husband. It was a real shock to us, since we were very young and didn't understand what the hell we were doing and basically had no lawyer and no one to help us.
Anyway...he got here and it all worked out for us, but there are no guarantees. I wouldn't risk it. Also, I don't know if him being from Canada had anything to do with it, but it probably did. I'm not saying that's right, I'm just telling the truth.
It was all very stressful. Proving intent is very hard. Good luck to you and to your friends.
Thankyou everyone for your input....I will forward this to my friend......

Hi everyone, this is for my friend.......(not for me....see my timeline...i am already half done with the process)
she married her husband in India and her marriage in India is registered...but right after the wedding she came to USA with her husband as she already had the visitor visa.....
Now her hubby who is the USC wants to apply for her....what is the best way to apply for her??
Any thoughts...has any one done it this way before?
Is it Adjustment of Status now? does she have to file 1-485....or go the 1130 way...

Chartered Accountant (CA) is a designation in other countries such as India. The US designation is Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Which type of professional did you consult and in which country? I would not expect an non-US accounting professional to be that familiar with US tax rules.
Yes it was the CPA in california....sorry as I talk to my husband 3 hours in a day...i am getting so used to talking his language......hahahaha
so do you guys think...i should go ahead and file for 1040 with W7?
thanks!!
-
I went to my CA (chartered accountant) to file my taxes for 2006 and he told me that I cant file "Married Jointly"..
he said my husband has to be either present in USA or have a Visa number!!!!!
I have seen so many posts on VJ, where peole have successfully filed the taxes.....did you guys get approve for that?...........why is my CA being so stupid???
My husband signed the 1040 + W7 + notarized photocopy of his passport biographical page from US embassy in India.....and mailed everything to me..........
Any insight guys? when you did it...did the IRS accept it?
By the way, when I spoke to a lady at IRS, she told me I can.............
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Hi pinky_doc , we are Not a mixed couple..we are both punjabi and belong to Sikh religion.
The only thing is I am 6 Months older than him....but that shouldn't make a difference,,,its only 6 months...

Recently, I had read in many posts that Male spouses from India or Pakistan are going through extensive administrative review by FBI
+ consulates. This is really ridiculous.....
First we have to wait for so long for the immigrationi process to finish, then go through a nerve recking visa interview and then the Adminsitrative review (which could take anywhere from 5-6 months)....
Oh God, this is crazy........
what do you guys think of this? IS THERE ANY WAY TO AVOID THIS?
Any thoughts!!!!

.. when filing the I-129F.. after filing the I-130.. do we need to submit photos of our wedding or proof of meeting or should we jus save that for the interview.. jus another question.. while ime here.. hows long does the interview take to get here?.?? (about how long).. thankx
If you have the NOA1 for I130, then you dont have to send the photos with I129F.
For the interview, if I129f is approved first, then approximately 4 months to interview
If I130 is approved, then approximately 6 months to interview
COULD BE LESS.....
Good luck!!

Don't worry, they will not care about it. It says "single" on your paycheck, meaning they are withholding as much taxes as possible. Your immigration process will not be affected by this, no worries
Yayyyyyyyyyyyy
-
I received my paycheck today and just saw that under Filing Status it has = SINGLE (federal & state)
But I am going to file as "married jointly" for 2006. Is this going to affect my immigration process?
It shouldnt right? cus I will have it corrected now?
But will NVC get ticked off if I send this "paycheck" with my AOS application?
Any advices???????????

ELW- yes your right
you cannot start the police certificate until you have the interview letter
i think almost ALL police departments require the letter as proof you need clearance. but - as soon as you get that letter, you need to get right on it to get the police certificate.
but once you get the ball rolling make sure you push to get that certificate so you have it when you go to interview. that was the hardest thing to get for us. my husband had to go and bug them everyday for about a week. it was a real pain!
I dont think thats true...cus my husband has already received his police certificates from 2 states that he lived in India. and our application is not even at the consulate yet.
so I dont think all police stations need "interview letter"
thanks

Guys, please read this and help me if you can.
I work as a Marketing manager at a retail company and we had a job opening 5 months ago. At the same time, my Best friend was looking for a job and she was qualified, so I got her that job........................
Now we are colleagues, I never thought I would be crying today because of her, But I AM.
She is totally competing with me, she has become best friends with my boss, and is getting paid 20% more than I am. She is getting an assistant to work for her and also will be managing 2 channels.
When she was not hired, I managed 2 channels and always did a great job...(I know that, as I got an awesome Review from my boss this year)
She has started keeping secrets from me at work and dosent tell me what projects she is working on...I only find out from either my boss or other co-workers.
I am getting suffocated here working with her and I have started disliking her. She has also started behaving artificial with me these days.
She dosent AT ALL seem to be that person that I had known. I CANT WORK WITH HER NOW.
What do you guys advice?
PLEASE HELP.......................
