It caused us a great deal of grief because we had no idea what he was talking about. I called NVC and they said that he is referring to the appointment letter (which I told him we had already received). It was a huge communication breakdown. Then I get an email from UStraveldocs.gov saying that we would not receive a "Packet 3." I.have no idea what that is. The whole thing was confusing. Still no idea but all is well.

I’ve heard people on here talk about packet 3, I believe that’s for another type of visa like K1.

  2. That's weird. My husband did his biometrics last week and they didn't tell him anything about that. He is also doing his medical this coming week, called the consulate approved office and they just want to see his passport, interview letter, and DS 260 confirmation. Maybe he is grouping those items as a packet?

My wife has her biometrics appointment and consular interview in Santo Domingo. I know that cell phones aren't allowed in either center (Embassy or VAC). Is there a place where she can store it for a fee? She has to have it to travel and won't have anywhere to put it outside of the buildings.  Thank you for your help.

I believe I read there are possible security boxes outside of the embassy? When's her interview? I'll know for sure when we go to ours.

So my fiance and I have just been approved and are currently waiting for our "official letter" to come in the mail. The question I have is if anyone knows exactly what the next process entails. I know he will need to go for a medical and  vaccinations, and I have looked online at the requirements and pricing. I am confused as it states that adults are one price, but that during flu season they are another. Does that mean we would have to pay the original fee on top of the additional for the flu shot? Also is the medical physical included in the initial price listed for vaccinations or is there a separate fee for the physical?  Also if anyone knows the financial aspect of what this next step is - just so we can get a head start on making sure we have that part set aside and ready. Any  help or feedback is appreciated. I will provide the website link with the information pertaining to the pricing of vaccines.

    Thank You in advance :)

link to pricing and requirement. - http://www.consultoriosdevisa.com/requisitos-tarifas/

How I understand it is there is a general fee for adults that includes the physical poriton, + any vaccines they need, +during flu season they will have to get a flu shot. So for my husband we are looking at $285 + $158 for vaccines based on his age & flu season =$443. He is going to call and confirm. Link below is a chart based off of age and vaccines required.

Congrats!!! I wont be able to attend I will be giving birth on 11/16 via c-section and my husband interview date is 11/20.  I have a high risk pregnancy and two rep's told me pregnant women will not be allowed to get into the embassy anyway. But yes you are able to attend. I just received my interview letter today via email.

My sister is high risk and can't attend hers either. Prayers for your family!

  7. I am currently waiting in the queue as well. We got our letter of completion stating we were in queue on 9/20/18, however our file was complete before that date. We are so anxious and ready to be together for the holidays!! Someone mentioned on here that it takes 6 days to hear about invteriew date, if that's true  I pray I hear something tomorrow morning! But I am not sure. lol

I honestly don't understand all of this fear about going alone. Its all about how you handle yourself. At the end of the day if you do your due diligence by having the appropriate paperwork and its a real marriage/relationship theres nothing to fear. Most latin people scare their friends/relatives due to a bad example they heard or were told by someone else that they don't know the important details. Usually these people make it seem all perfect but neglect to tell the true side of the story as to how a paperwork was filed incorrectly or any other little detail that is significant.

My wife was told by her family of all of these little issues of going alone and scared the ####### out of her. These people said things that made no sense. They have fear because they don't understand the process at all. She went to the interview today after being so scared and guess what? By listening to me instead and not being nervous she got a interviewer that was very serious overall but when she reached the window she had the most different interaction with the person. You can check my timeline to see which a review will follow soon. If its a true marriage its going to work out alright.

Obviously all of this success has to do with reading a lot and following procedures along with the great environment that VJ has been able to offer to us. Im very thankful for all of your experiences and posts you guys give. At the end of the day most people don't do their homework and read enough to know that they don't need to ask questions. Ive never hired a lawyer and did my GC, EAD, Removed conditions, Citizenship, and now my CR1 for my wife. All simply because of the great people here in VJ. ;)

Glad to hear, I won't be able to make either!

  9. Our interview date is in queue, how long after did you get your interview date?

I know many of you say DR wants spouse there. I get it, anyone have a case where they didn't get to go because of work or something else and spouse still recieved visa?

    Hi @amaria29

My husbans Visa was issued 3 days after our interview, however we didn't get it until 8 days later because we had them ship it to his town which took a little longer. To start working you don't need the card but you WILL need a SSN.  We had our interview September 4th!

    Questions towards my husband--

    1. When and How did we meet?

    2. Asked my husband to talk about my life in the US.

    3. How did he propose?

    4. If we knew each others families?

    5. Asked my husband where I worked and what I did there.

    6. Asked my husband where I went to University and what I studied there.

    Questions towards me--

    1. If we got married quickly.

    2. If I visited him often.

Thanks so much!! That helps alot! We are in queue waiting for an appointment now. I can't believe it's finally about to be here. However, due to work I am unable to go with him. I have heard of a lot of people still getting approved though.

How long after you got your letter about being queue did you get the interview date?
