dlmbtltk got a reaction from marthasofi in N-400 AUGUST 2020 FILERS
So, I had my interview this morning in Lawrence-Ma, everything went well, got the 6 civics questions right, we talked about my marriage and why it didn't work (got my gc thru marriage but it didn't work and I was already divorced by the time I applied for my ROC), talked about work, concerts we have been to (lol), went thru the whole application, asked a lot of questions about it, the officer left the room a couple of times and came back saying he was recommending me for approval and then he said that he could make me become an American citizen today, if I was interested lol
I was like, yes for sure!!!
He then gave me the N-652 and told me to go back to the waiting room and wait. After about 30 minutes, a gentleman came and called 6 of us by name, took us to a room where they had everything set up for us to take the Oath, it was quick and easy. I left happy as an American citizen.
Timeline:
Aug 18th I applied online
Nov 12th got notification of biometrics reuse
Nov 12th few minutes later the notification about the interview being scheduled
Dec 22nd Interview/Oath Ceremony on the spot.
Good luck to all of you!!!

Hi all,
Thanks @Peep201 for the question.
I had a lot of evidence when it came to my marriage so I was anxious but honestly, I felt they would approve it.
I sent:
- final decree of divorce including my name being changed to my maiden name ( he was the one that filed)
- 1 1/2 years worth of joint bank statements
- statements from joint credit card
- proof of apartment payments made by me
- proof of utility payments made by me
- copies of 2 years of jointly tax returns
- copies of joint medical insurance and dental cards
- proof of joint car insurance
- about 8 page personal letter explaining the relationship and detailing verbal abuse and how it was affecting my children
- 3 years worth of joint pictures and facebook posts ( he was a social medial addict and wanted to prove to his "friends" how we were really a couple)
- pictures of all the broken things I had at home, (he has angry bouts where he would break things), he broke several plates and glasses, game controlers, 2 coffee tables, computer chair, mirror from the bathroom vanity
All this happened after we got married. He was the most perfect guy while we were still dating. After, he became addicted to xbox and pretty much didn't do anything else beside work and play games, all day and all night most days. He became angry because of anything, even small so at that point, so I decided to keep pictures of it and screenshot o f conversations with him calling me names.
I know this is much more detail than normal but wanted to give a reasoning to sending pictures.
The only thing I didn't include in the packet, was affidavits from friends or family. I felt as if at the point that I got divorced, things were so bad that everyone including me and especially my children, were just trying to move past it.
I'm guessing that if people have the financial proof that the marriage was bonafied, then officials wouldn't move to disapprove these cases. In my case, the fact that he's a TSA agent, may have worked in my favor after all.
Hope this helps. I'm very happy with the outcome and very relieved it's all over.
God bless everyone and good luck!
Renata

@dlmbtltk I filed a good faith marriage waiver in November 2016 and I got approved with no interview about 13 months later. The website was updated on the case about 2 weeks after I had the green card delivered in the mail, which was about 3 weeks after the letter came. So just wait for a letter and a card in the mail. Congrats 😊

Yes I would def sent them birth certificate certified copy, maybe some pics of your family, health insurance cards , things of that nature. Plus you never know what kind of documents they will ask for on that RFE... But I'm sure you will be fine
Good luck

I’m a aug 2016 filer and also received RFE, they received my response March 12th, there hasn’t been any updates online but I went to a Infopass appt last fri and the officer told me that my file is now at the local office and I’m in line to be scheduled for an interview and also told me that it could take up to 21 months to get an interview scheduled here.

yes, this was the second i551 stamp I got and they gave me only 6 months each time. So sep/oct I might have to go back for another one (But obviously I'm hoping I will just have my green card by then)

just done submitting my love's death certificate. The officer was super nice, she even took my death certificate all the way to the 8th floor and handed it to the supervisor where I did my 400 interview. Monica, the officer told me the supervisor will mail me a decision very soon right after she got the death certificate. She told me it was positive. I asked her about 400, she told me she is not sure, but she sensed the positive attitude from the supervisor. Maybe I will get my 751 approval soon. Maybe my husband is from heaven protecting me. Maybe better days are coming.

Sorry you feel like we’ve abandoned you! My I751 finally got approved after 2 senatorial inquiries. Have you been in contact with your representatives yet? It couldn’t hurt!
I hope you get a combo interview soon! Good luck!
The (mis)information line is chronically bad, especially at the customer service level... they don’t know anything. The notice from the tier 2 officer is probably correct, and your file is probably en route to San Francisco. Crazy that they have to send it to MO and then all the way back to CA! What a waste!
That’s awesome! Congratulations!
RFEs generally take around 1-2 months these days. Good luck, the end is in sight!
