  1. My experience is that waiting for an interview at my local office was the thing that really slowed down the process. It took about 8 months for MSC to process it and send it to the local office for the interview. Looks like my wife will finally have her interview after it being at the local office for 2.5 years.
  2. FYI our N-400 interview is set for 10/4/22. Interview letter came in the mail today. No mention of the I-751, but hopefully it will be a combo interview.
  3. Oh interesting…We paid a flat fee in Ghana that included everything, but I guess it varies.
  4. From: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-10-prepare-for-the-interview/medical-examination-faqs.html The following vaccinations are required for immigration purposes: Hepatitis A Hepatitis B Influenza Influenza type b (Hib) Measles Meningococcal Mumps Pneumococcal Pertussis Polio Rotavirus Rubella Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids Varicella I wouldn’t worry to much about it. Bring your records to your medical appointment and they will give you any you are missing.
  5. You will get a receipt notice that will extend your green card for two years. Then you will get a biometrics notice. Then you’ll go to that appoint and your status will be updated to biometrics taken. Then there will be a really looooooong wait. You can check your status with a case number here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do Or create an account and log on to see status here: https://myaccount.uscis.gov My wife submitted her I-751 in September 2019 and just got an email this week that an interview is being set. She applied for naturalization while we waited, so the interview will be a combo interview I guess because it says it’s for the N-400 in the email. Not sure if applying for citizenship sped things up or slowed them down.
  6. Thank you so much! We are planning on going next year, so we will go about it the same way.
  7. Hi, Our son was born this past week and we are looking into what it would take to get him a Ghanaian passport. My understanding is that he is already a Ghanaian citizen by virtue of having a Ghanaian mother (I’m a U.S. citizen). However, it looks like we are going to need to register him as a dual citizen to get him a Ghanaian passport. It looks like we send in a copy of my wife’s passport, $250 and a return envelope to get the application. Has anyone gone through this process?
  8. I was also going to say that your husband could probably naturalize before your child is school aged.
