It means they want more evidence of a bona fide relationship.  I would not consider a visa to be approved until it is issued......There are cases of consulate officers saying "you are approved", the the case is denied.....

Have you seen anyone that it has happened to? Because i was asked to submit my passport with the joint sponsor.

How much did your wife make or did the I-864 affidavit show? The CO does have ultimate control over making final decision on public charge issue.

As for once you submit a co-sponsor, it depends on how long it takes the embassy to process the paperwork. Generally they won't have another interview. How long will it take again depends on how fast they process it all, and how long you end up in administrative process (AP), which is open ended and has no definitive time line. So could literally be maybe 2-3 weeks, or 2-3 months, or longer.

Thanks for your response, my wife makes much more than the budget, she makes above 31k, i even tried to explain to the consuler, but she said no, listen to me, if you want to go to America, you and your wife should provide a joint sponsor. And when you get it submit them with your international passport at DHL office in Victoria Island. I dont think it will go into administrative processing, since they asked me to return my passport with those documents. My visa is approved but cannot be issued without those documents. Its so scary when you said AP. What can you say about them asking me to return my passport?

  3. Hello good day you all, i had my visa interview this morning, at the US consulate general in Lagos. I was interviewed at around 10:40am and here are my interview questions.

Co: What is the petitioners relationship to you?

    Me: Answered correctly

Co: what can you tell me about your wife?

    Me: answered

    Co: Where does she works

    Me: answered

    Co: where does she lives

    Me: answered

Co: when and how did you meet

    Me: answered

    Co: how do you communicate

    Me: answered

Co: when did you get married

    Me: answered

Co: show me wedding album showing where you and your wife are signing the the marriage certificate

    Me: showed

Co: asking on the album, who and who are these

    Me: answered

Co: Do you have your2017 transcript for tax return, that your wife filed

Me: yes and passed it to her

Co: Your wife did not reach the expected amount of money.

She hands me a white sheet, that says to get a joint account and send to DHL with my passport.

So my question is, has anyone here faced this challenge? How long did it take before they returned your passport with visa back to you? After submitting my joint transcript tomorrow, will i still go for another interview? Or does this means i have been approved visa but they cant finalise it until my joint transcript has been sent to them. I hope to hear from you all.

I would resubmit it then? When did you get the police report?

I have resubmitted, I discovered that my lawyer did not submit my thumb print, he only submitted the certificate, that's why it was rejected, but we have resubmitted again. I got the police records in October

To answer your question, It's because it was not issued from the Main headquarters of Nigeria in Algabon, Lagos. Even if you go to local police station they send to them. But try to scan it in but I believe that's the reason.

I didn't go to local police station, I went to the HQ and someone on vj here told me to go do it there and when I arrived the police there told me that they do, I think VJ has removed my police record, because I uploaded it.

  8. Hello guys, is there anyone from Abuja Nigeria, who has done there police records and sent to NVC center that was accepted or rejected, my Police record was issued to me on the 10th of October from the Police HQ here in Abuja at Abuja police command close to old central bank at Garki Abuja. I did finger prints and the certificate was issued to me after 4 working days, I took a picture snap of the certificate and finger prints and I uploaded it on ceac website, today they just mailed me that it is not from a valid place, I don't know if its because I took a snap with my phone and it didn't appear to look real, because I plan on using a real scan tomorrow, they sent me descriptions of how the certificate looks like and who should issue it and it matched all the descriptions, so I don't know if there is anyone here who did it at the same place that NVC approved or do I have to go to Lagos to do it or am I with a fake certificate? Is this how the ones that was issued to you looks like ?please I need your help on this matter. I also attached the police certificate and finger prints.

  14. I think if you divorce him for anything other than violence. You will be deported back to your country, so check properly and do your research before divorcing and quickly remarrying, because if I was a USCIS official, I will find a red flag there, after you have dissolved your marriage you planning on another marriage and not actually to an American but a foreign person probably maybe from your country, that's a big red flag, I will say wait for a year before remarrying. Just my idea to you. USCIS are very intelligent. This is a case that has happened to a lady, she divorced her husband saying it didn't work out and the next month she married and filed, but she was deported, they will ask you a tricky question. Just wait till after a year before remarrying and filing.

OP: As you know, official "age deflation" is a rather common choice ("error" ke?) made by many Nigerians, who do so to get a number of age-related benefits, including employment, retirement, and selection for age-grade soccer tournaments :P. Now your chickens have come home to roost...

Man up, clean up your act, and face the music. All the best!
