Good.  A government agency made a mistake when they issued your passport.  You either didn't notice or didn't bother to get it fixed promptly.  The mistake on your passport could have been caught and "fixed" right away.   That it wasn't was YOUR mistake that cannot be "unmade".  You then applied for a tourist visa and entered a false date on the application.  That mistake was a lie.  The mistake cannot be unmade and the lie cannot be untold.  What you can do is fix the passport, which you have done.  Now you can tell the truth about the rest, apologize for YOUR mistakes and HOPE for the best.  That's life.  Taking personal responsibility for mistakes is part of  being on the truth train.  Good luck.

Thank you so much sir, this is so helpful as I have screen shot this to compose myself when asked.

Okay, May16, 2017 file date...and we just got RFE for NVC (Nigeria police certificate). My husband did not send the fingerprint card...Now we have to wait on that...We are in April..2018...So realistically, the time line is correct...The file was at Nebraska...I am frustrated at times but you have to be patient...Facetime, whatsapp, came in handy and I recorded everyday moment we had..So I use those to get me through hard moments...

    Thanks for sharing.

The woman suggested you get a document from the court saying there IS an error on your birth certificate.  At this point there is NOT and error on your passport and there NEVER was an error on your birth certificate.  That you even considered getting a court document about an CURRENT error on either the birth certificate OR your passport indicates to me you are not yet fully on board the TRUTH TRAIN.  Don't go get a court document attesting to a lie.  Don't consider it for one more second.

Ok thank you sir I really do appreciate your reply and how you have enlightened me on this matter, when asked I will tell them nothing but the truth.

It wasn't the OP who suggested there was an issue with the birth certificate - it was another poster.

Kings49 - what I think you are worried about is that you applied for a tourist visa with a passport which had the wrong birth date on it. And did you fill out that wrong birthday on the USA immigration forms too?

Now you have applied for a spousal visa and are using the new corrected passport with your real birth date and have your real birth date on all your spousal visa forms?

Your birth certificate has always been correct? But you didn't have to provide that for the tourist visa just your passport.

If you wrote the wrong birth date on your USA immigration forms when you applied for the tourist visa they may well catch that and ask you why you put the wrong date down then.

To answer your questions in accordance, on the immigration form that I have submitted now has all my current original age that I have on my passport and birth certificate, not the fake one,

2)Yes I have my real age on all my spousal form

3)Yes my birth certificate has always been correct, just my previous passport was incorrect and which have been corrected.

    4) I didn't really understand this Question but last year I applied for a tourist visa and was denied But before my immigration form, I changed it this year to my real age , the one on my birth certificate, so right now my passport is 1991 and my birth certificate is 1991.

It's not going to happen in a month or two or even three. Like I said, prepare for a journey of 10+ months from now. God can do nothing here.

My God is bigger than the USCIS or the American embassy, and He can make all things possible for me, He can compress that Time and make it happen next month,He owns time and I believe in Him, you might laugh at me but I will give my testimony next month here on this page when I get called for an interview and by the way, someone commented  that their application took 7 months, so I think the impossible is possible. Watch out for my testimony. My all powerful God has this.

Did you not understand the question?  If there is no mistake on your birth certificate, why would you ask the high court to say there was?  To do so would be a lie.

If I get you correctly, are you saying I shouldn't go ahead to the court just as that woman suggested since there is no error on my passport?

So then, why would you ask a government agency to provide a document indicating your BIRTH CERTIFICATE had an error?  Get falsehoods OUT of your thinking completely.

Well in Nigeria a birth certificate is required to issue you an international passport and I used my birth certificate that States my real age but they made a mistake and a lot of people do have that kind of issues too either on a name or birth date, even the people working there are humans, so they are also expected to make a mistake too

Uhm...It takes roughly 12-14 months from the time you filed your paperwork to visa in hand....on average....for pretty much everyone

Some might get lucky and have it done in 10 months and others wait even longer like 16 months ...all depends on your paperwork and your case, Service Center etc..

But unless you are DCF you won‘t have a visa in 4-6 months

We filed Late November and are,of course, still waiting for NOA2

    What is a DCF?

In addition to all Pushbrk has said,go to the high court in your jurisdiction to get a sworn affidavit of mistake on birth certificate, signed and sealed by a judge. Add the certified copy to the documents your wife will be using to file for you.

We have already started the application since 3 months ago but I can still get it for the interview.

The I-130 is currently taking anywhere form 6-10+ months depending on service center.  Four month would be well sooner than average...not impossible, but certainly not the norm.

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/irstats.php?history=180

Then the I-130 is sent to NVC for the next step in processing (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process). ETA: ~3 months or so.

Then the case is scheduled for an interview at the embassy, which varies by consulate.

Ok thank you sir, I hope they get it done next month because staying apart from my wife is real toture and purnishment . We are always spending money for her to come visit me in Nigeria and those money could be invested in our marriage but we spend a lot of it on traveling.

  12. Hello again, I have this Question in my mind to ask, back in 2015 I did my international passport, I was born on the 9th of March 1991 but the immigration made a mistake and added 1994 instead of 1991, last year July I applied to travel to the US but was denied, then after marrying my wife, before filling for me I told her that I want to change my date of birth as I don't like the 1994 Because it's not my real age and I want my real age, a lot of people tried stopping saying it might cause me future problem with the embassy because on their system they have my Data as 1994 and now if they discover that it 1991 I will have a big problem, but I didn't listen to them because I want to be honest, so around January of this year I applied to change the date of birth here in Nigeria, so right now I have my current date of birth. So my question is that would this be a big issue? Because someone said it will not be because I was not approved the last time and if I was approved on that age and now change it to this age it would have been considered Visa fraud but since I didn't get approved and go to the US, he said I will be fine but just in case they ever asked me, he told me to tell them the story. What he said is so comfortable but I am still very scared to be honest, please experience people out there do you think this will be an issue of me being denied? I need answer because I am troubled for being honest.

  13. Hello good day guys, I am Kingsley from Abuja Nigeria, my wife filed for me to come to the US around January ending, next month will make it 4 months since we applied, me and my wife are hoping that I will be called for the interview next month, we know that it takes up to 6 month's but someone told us that it takes 4 months but America will tell you 6 months because sometimes there can be some issues and the files might not be ready in the 4 month so to be on a safe side they prefer to tell you 6 months.

So I want to ask, how long does it really takes to be approved from the US side? And I also want to ask , how much does it cost in Nigeria to do a medical report and police report?
