  1. I know it's frustrating. BUT....checking everyday will only add to it. The date changes so much, I finally *had* to quit looking or I was going to lose my frickin mind! I was up to checking two or three times a day...and I realized I was becoming a slave to it. Hang in there...it WILL be over soon. :)

I used to check on my portfolio at USCIS website every after one hour hoping that the date they last updated my case will change. It was frustrating to see the same old date and I realized that the more I checked it, the more I will get frustrate. I'm hoping for miracles too and I hope it will come now.

All of us here are going through a lot and waiting for our time to get approved isn't easy. Let's just keep on hanging on and pray for our speedy approvals.

  2. hello VJs:

I just got my noa2 in the mail box. the weird think is that, unlike most of you guys' noa2, it says my petition has been forwarded to the listed consulate(Montreal). why they didn't send it to NVC first? i am so confused. they don't want to do my background/name check or they will do it later which is what i am worrying about? does anybody here experience this kind of noa2? any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated! thank you. one more thing, Can I change my consulate to Vancouver?

That's not weird, in fact, it's a good news because your case didn't have to go through NVC! You're in good hands so relax and wait for the interview date. By the way, let me be the first to say congrats!

  3. [*] Payment as required by USCIS. Use a personal check so you can track the payment.

[*] Cover Letter (see example). Should include a description of what your are petitioning for (I-129F), a table of contents (list everything in the packet). If you need additional room to explain your case, attach a separate sheet (list the attachment on the cover sheet). Make sure to sign and date the cover sheet.

[*] Form I-129F: Petition for Alien Fiance(e) (see example)

[*] Declaration of how you met in person in the last two years. This should be a single typed page regarding question 18 of the I-129F. Make sure to sign and date it.

[*] Proof of having met in past two years. (click here for examples)

Darn! I think we included more than whats' being asked  I guess that's the problem when you don't read GUIDES.

  4. :D I remember when I posted this same topic about NOA2 and some VJers snapped at me because our case was only 3 weeks old then and yet I already showed impatience. Just relax and extend your patience to the fullest because at CSC, it will take some time before you'll get your NOA2 (most probably 2-3 months). Always remember that you're not alone... many of us here are still waiting for that approval notice. Follow what fwaguy said... " relax and pour yourself something cold to drink... open up a good book or maybe three or four..."

  5. Thanks to everyone who replied to my question - it seems like the consensus is not to make a big deal about it or not mention it in the I-129F. I think I will just mention it briefly in passing - something like 'despite our differences in culture, age, and background, there was a deep connection between us from the beginning'... how does this sound?

Just BELIEVE in the POWER OF LOVE and as long as you two truly love each other with all your hearts and souls... age difference is difinitely NOT a problem!

  6. Starting my I-129F and wondering how useful the 'Proof of Ongoing Relationship' is?

I talk to her daily, but the phone cards only show a vague charge name on my credit card. Will there be a RFE that we are still involved with each other.

Should I mail a postcard just for evidence? Copy emails?

    -thanks!

Pictures together will prove that you two have met prior to K1 application and of your relationship. Airline tickets, boarding passes, itineraries, stamped passport pages, hotel accomodations/receipts, etc. are the kind of proofs that you'll need to include in your I-129F packet. As for the telephone bills, letters, email and the likes, you can use them for the interview part later. Sending postcard and mail will help establish your ongoing relationship and might be of help as well.

  7. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. It's a long road and I am so glad that we have VJ where we can hang out with people going through the same process.

For everyone with up and coming interviews....good luck, we are almost there!!! :D

Congratulations and Good luck on your interview! I wish I could feel the same excitement that you're going through right now - from having the interview date - but I guess it's still a long way for us to get to this point. You're indeed almost there!

  8. Hello All,

I haven't posted before but I could not keep this news to myself....I received an

e-mail today saying that we were approved!!! I am sooooo excited!!! Happy New Year!

I know that the next step is the NVC and then on to the embassy. My question is what exactly is in the packets 3 and 4? I want to start gathering stuff now and I can't seem to find this information. I know that I have to get the AOS ready and send that to my fiance, is there anything else? Thanks in advance for your help. And to anyone else out there waiting for their NOA 2....I am praying for you, its a WONDERFUL feeling to see that in your in box!

Congratulations! Even though it wasn't us who got the NOA2, we couldn't help but get excited just like you are

  9. Virginia and I have our papers put into the Nebraska Service Center. We hope the interview comes soon. We realize the waiting period could be long; however we are hoping to have things in order so that we can get things done as fast as possible. Our goal is to be together before June so we can celebrate our birthdays together... (L)

    Any advice is much appreciated...

Welcome Webber! For now, sit back and relax and hope that everything goes through smoothly. In a week or so, you will receive your first notice of action (NOA1) informing you that your case is received and tranferred to California Service Center. Since NSC is currently not processing Fiance Visa, CSC will be the one who will review and approve your case. If you won't receive the NOA1 right away, you can inquire at your back if the check that you issued is endorsed. At the back of it will be your case number that you can use in checking the status of your petition at USCIS website. Please read the guides for more information. Being here at VJ will help you a lot in a way that you can ask for insights from all of us here.

  10. I want to thank you guys so much for posting this. I had no clue I could find my receipt number on my check and that I could track stuff online! Much love to you all! I'm still waiting for my NOA1 as well, and this makes me feel a lil better :)

:P:yes: Good luck on your journey! You might want to creat an account at USCIS to receive automatic notifications with your case.

  11. Is this referring to how you first met or how you've met over the past 2 years? Should it be in paragraph form or with bullet points or what? Sorry if this has been asked many times before!!

make it like a detailed story and as professional as possible. Include exactly how you met, how your relationship blossomed, how many times you have seen each other. When i did mine, i incorporated the evidence we included in as well by using attachments. (i.e I visited Ms. .... ...... on July 03,2006 (see attachment 1).). and attachment 1 was a copy of the airline ticket.

Detailed story is a lot better and make it sure that you have supporting documents to prove it i.e. pictures, airline tickets, boarding passes, hotel accomodation and receipts, etc. You can write it anyway you want as long as you can be sure that there will be no loopholes.

  12. I am not sure if there is such a letter required on passing the I-129F packet to USCIS IF the petitioner is a military official. But I do remember that I've read somewhere that there is a letter required from the military's commander, just aint sure what kind of letter is that. What's on the body of the letter and all that stuff.

If someone can enlighten me with this one, I would really appreciate that coz we want to meet all requirements needed before passing the packet..

    Thank you in advance.

Maybe you are referring to the letter you can use to expidite your case. As a military man, your case can be expidited with the help of your fiance's commander writing a letter to the USCIS or something like that. I'm not sure about all this but some people here can explain it to you further.
