  1. I know how sweet it is to call each other "wifey" and "hubby". But because you're filing for Fiancee Visa, it's highly suggested that you avoid using terms that will complicate your status. I've learned a lot from hanging out here in VJ and I'm sure you will, too.

As for letter of intent to marry, it doesn't have to be notarized, just an statememt that you're both legal to marry and will get married within 90 days upon entering US. You can find a sample here... all you got to do is explore and read a lot and you'll be in good shape.

    Good luck to you!

  2. My fiance called the Kuala Lumpur consulate, sad to say we have to file it in Manila. The consulate said that it may take longer if it will be processed there because he has only been working in Malaysia for only 4 months and the consulate requirement is 1 year. I guess we don't have any choice - he'll just go back to Manila. Does anyone here had or have the same case? We need advice.

    Thank you in advance!

Sorry to hear that... well, in that case and if you think you really have no choice, use the consulate in Manila and make him go home when he thinks his interview date is really close. You might make him get a Police Clearance in Malaysia as well since he will need it for the interview. I'm not really good in giving advices but I'm sure someone in the same situation will help you here... Good luck!

I checked your timeline and it's not updated... Can you update it, please? I thought you said you're a November filer? How come it says 12/30/2006 when you submitted your I-129F? Anyway, welcome to VJ! I'm from the Philippines too and we filed last December... Good luck on your journey!

Thanks Luzy... Good luck on your interview... I'm sure you'll make it through. Filipinas are not only beautiful and loving, they're very smart as well. Extend my regards to your fiancee!

Thank you all for welcoming us here! :luv:

  5. Another December filer here hopeing all goes well for everyone and SOON!!! Reading the USCIS timetable, it looked like it was going to take forever, 6-7 months and that would be forever to me. But reading the responses tonight i am encouraged that it might get done in

5 months. I had heard before i filed the I-129F that it should be done in 4-5 months but the timetables had me discouraged.

Looking at USCIS timetable or comparing your timeline with others won't help... I've seen most of November filers got their NOA2 already, so hopefully, we, December filers' turn is really, really close. Good luck to all of us!

  6. I'm from Springfield, MO and my fiancee's from the Laguna, Philippines. We met through a dating site, became friends, fell in love and decided that we cannot live without each other anymore. We filed our case just last December of 2006, after my second visit. Mae's been lurking here for almost a year now but only as one of those "guests" and "anonymous" and we always discuss about everything that she learned from here. She introduced VJ to me and when we filed our case, we decided to join. Even though we've filed our K1 already before we joined, the site was and still of great help for us and we're very happy to be part of the VJ family.

Edited just to say thank you for all the help

  7. Hello All,

I have two kids from previous marriages and they live full-time with their mom's and I have them weekends, holidays, summer, etc.In my view that makes me "Partially Dependent" for their support.

On question #8 it asks the following question:

8.That the following persons are dependent upon me for support: (Place an "x" in the appropriate column to indicate whether the person named is wholly or partially dependent upon you for support.)

Name of Person Wholly Dependent Partially Dependent Age Relationship to Me

The online form only lets you choose the "Wholly Dependent" options. Can someone give me your view and how you answered this question?

    Thanks fellow VJ'ers,

    Bryan

I think that really makes your kids partially dependent and about the form, why not print it legibly using black pen? I'm sure it won't hurt...

  8. Here's what we are going to put.............

(Identities have been changed to protect the innocent :D )

We met for the first time online in the AOL music chat room in August 2004. We then frequently chatted online using AOL Instant Messenger and exchanged many emails. We swapped phone numbers and started to talk on the phone regularly. <Benficiary> travelled to visit me in person in America for the first time from November 18th 2004 to December 2nd 2004. He has subsequently visited me in person in the USA between the following dates: March 11th 2005 to Mach 18th 2005, August 25th 2005 to September 8th 2005, January 18th 2006 to January 28th 2006, April 26th 2006 to May 6th 2006, September 23rd 2006 to October 7th 2006 and January 3rd 2007 to January 13th 2007.

Is this any good? Is it anything like what anyone else out there put??

    Thanks.

Looks good to me... No lovey-dovey... direct and factual... Just make sure you got supporting documents like trip tickets, pictures, etc...

  9. I am a member of Asawa and I felt sad when it closed down... It will be wonderful to see it running again... Mr. Bacon was of great help during those times that we were in the process of gathering things up for our paperwork.

  10. Woo hoo!

We mailed ours yesterday, so I know how you feel. But it took us longer to get all the paperwork together because we had to wait for some of it to arrive.

We also owe a lot to this group for helping us know what to send.

It's a wonderful feeling to have that sent off.

Well, congratulations to you then! And good luck on your journey!

  11. That's about 5 cents/minute if you are really getting 40 minutes. What phone card does she get, and where does she get it?

I know this is a late topic but I just wanted to reply re: cheap call card from PI anywhere in US... I've been using PLDT Budget Card ever since it's out in the market, it has 33 minutes for only PhP100.00 ($2). Very dependable and cheap...
