Hello!
My husband is home sick and wants to go back to England to visit his family. Is has the EAD and AP card, so he is allowed to travel right?
Also, we have been at the 'ready to schedule a interview' stage since Sept 4th, any info on when is it likely that we will get a scheduled interview?

The same thing is happening to me. I tried calling to get answers, but have not reached anyone.

They are not allowing anyone unless it's a must. Mine took 5 minutes, went in, no one was there. Got done with it quickly. Thought it was in NYC.
Great, I hope his is like that!

Ah okay, I figured as much, but I thought I'd ask!

This is slightly unrelated, but how long did it take you to get your husband’s biometric appointment from when you submitted your I-485? We submitted in May and I just thought we’d hear back by now.
Hello! So we submitted it back on Feb. 19 2020. We originally got our biometrics appointment letter I think around the start of march for march 18 I think, but they all closed a few days before. So this is our reschedule appointment
27 minutes ago, brainless69 said:Mine only took 20 minutes from the moment i walked in to the moment i walked out. They are only seeing a limited number of people at the moment and only letting in a certain amount at any one time. So i suggest get there a little earlier (the 15minutes they allow) and be first in.
Thanks! Where you about to bring your spouse or did you have to go in alone?

Hello everyone!
My husband gotten his biometrics appointment in the mail and I have to take off to drive him. For anyone who had there appointment during covid or since they reopen, how did it take? It's at 9am, and I was thinking about just asking for the morning off and be back in the office after lunch.
I know they aren't doing walk-ins, so I'm assuming it would be relatively quick, but I just thought time check to see what everyone has experienced so far!

We just wanted to let people know that we had checked our case status at: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do and it showed the approval there a few days ago, even though it showed no changes on myUSCIS. He hasn't had his biometrics yet (was schedule for March but cancelled) and were we pretty shocked when we looked up the status since we know that typically comes first.
My husband and I got our notice of action letters today (3 days later) in the mail saying he was approved for the EAD and AP! We wanted to wait to post anything just in case just checking My Case Status was wrong
Anyways, this was just to encourage people to not only just check myUSCIS, as it wasn't showing the update for the approval while looking at My Case Status did!
Good luck everyone!

I've seen a lot of comments about the MyUSCIS account site not having updated information on a person's case. Where did you search to find out that your EAD and AP were approved?
I have definitely seen several VJ people comment that they received AP / EAD approval without biometrics, so apparently indeed it is possible. Please update us when you receive the card in the mail, and let us know where else you were able to search to get the status information.
Thanks,
Mark and Sandra
Hello!
Our notice of action just came in the mail! So we did get approved! As for where i looked, I just went to: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do
Searching cases here shows the most accurate information!

My husband hasn't gotten an notice, but they opened on the 27th in my city so We except it to take a little (our original appointment was March 18th I think). What is interesting though is that I searched our case numbers on the uscis case status and it said on the 28th his EAD and travel application was approved? Though. when he logs into his uscis account, it isn't updated to show the cases approval. I am a little confused since I thought the biometrics came first. While we are excited that he might be able to finally work soon, but we will wait to celebrate until the approval arrives in the mail!

No one can know if the closures will be extended. If you reschedule, it will probably just get pushed out another month, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things and may be ahead of the game if USCIS extends the closures and need to reschedule a large number of people. It is a roll of the dice at this point.
Yeah thats true. After i posted this i saw on the website that said : "USCIS will automatically reschedule Application Support Center appointments due to the office closure. You will receive a new appointment letter in the mail."
So i guess i just have to wait and see!

Hi everyone,
Yesterday my husband received his appointment for the finger prints for 4/03/2020. Any idea if we will have to reschedule due to the pandemic? The USCIS website says they are closed until 4/01/2020, but I'm not sure if that means our appointment is still going on?

99% it's been approved. Check the status online it should change to Administrative Processing and then to Issued in fairly short order.
It was changed!

Hi! So my fiance has his interview today! He said it went well and he thinks he was approved. He said it all went by so quickly and he just got a bit confused to be honest. Anyways, they took his passport and said it would be sent back after it was updated. Just to be sure, does that mean approved? 😂
(would they not take your passport if denied...?)

They say photocopy but quit wanting/keeping those paper photocopies a couple of years ago. They will just look at the original docs, and I think they get scanned now. Going more digital.
Okay thank you

Hello, my fiance has his interview on Wednesday and we just now realized it asks for the original and a photocopy of each document. Is it okay if we dont have copies or is it mandatory? If it is, is the photocopy required for every document or just certain ones?

Unfortunately he did not get signed off for shots at the medical. Now he will need a new medical form (I-693) for his AOS and an approved civil surgeon in the US to sign off. More money and hassle. We talk about this often in the UK FORUM. He can call the clinic and tell them to hold his paperwork until he faxes proof of getting the shot. They will lie and say it's already sent, but his blood work is not even back from the lab yet. Insist. Then get the Td shot at his GP and have them fax the documentation to the Visa Medicals clinic. Follow up and make sure they mark his vaccination sheet as complete for AOS.
If he is 19 years or older, the Hep shot are not a requirement.
Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:
- Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. If you have a record of receiving pertussis, then the Td is okay for the booster.
- MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella. It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical.
- Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. They will also waive the shot in the UK for "not routinely available". That works for spouse visas but not fiancés who could get the uishot after POE and go to a civil surgeon to sign off.
- Influenza - Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31. If your medical is not during flu season, you don't need it.
Wow that sucks 😭 Thanks for letting me know this. We wont have time to have them put a hold on the file and for him to get the shot before his interview, we will have to do the more expensive route. I'll look more into what will have to be done once he is here!

By transition period they must mean by the time of his adjustment of status
That is was we were assuming, but we weren't sure. Thanks!

My fiance just had his medical exam in london yesterday. They said that he needed his tetanus shot and instead of offering to give it to him there, they said it needs it by his transition period. We don't know what they mean by this. Also, he doesn't have his hep a shot, but they said he doesn't need it?

I see that...For a K1, they want to confirm the LND number so they ask for the letter the embassy sends with K1 instructions and always accepted the email from NVC which has the LND number. NVC has gotten quick about emailing. A few years back, NVC mailed a letter to the petitioner and it arrived weeks after the case was already in London and London had already mailed their letter to the beneficiary. So take something proving your LND case number and that should do it for you.
Awesome! Thanks so much!

You might want to check what the clinic says to bring http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm
and ask him to send the email. There's lots to bring, but not the visa application form.
I sent an attachment, its letter g where it mention ds 260. That's why we were confused. It doesn't mention it on the website, just in that email
