NVC automated scheduling is going by the priority date - There are ample data points now to confirm that. The NVC misinformation agents keep repeating CC - its a training problem and no one cares to correct it. Will need to escalate this one to the NVC Director Philip Slattery since the phone line supervisors are equally in the dark.

@willcrack I see your PD is 2/23/18 mine is 2/20 and CC 11/7 I saw one person with PD 2/5/18 and CC 10/24/18 get an Interview for December.  What do you think our chances of getting an interview date in February are?

On another forum, there is a user @Akulkarniwho had a CC date of 1-Nov and got interview date of 17-Jan at Mumbai consulate for his mom's IR5 case. He seems to have gotten the email on Saturday (likely was sent out late Friday). Gives hope to us all. Here is the link.

I was so happy to see that someone with a CC in November got an an interview in January for Mumbai.  But then I realized that persons PD is in like Sep 2017 mines Feb 2018 😭

Anyone from the Mumbai consulate has gotten their interview date for January for CR1? Been waiting from 10/19(CC). It is getting really frustrating, no idea what is happening.

My CC is Nov 7 and still waiting, I have not seen anyone in the last couple months get an interview for Mumbai.  At this point I just hope that NVC goes back to their regular pattern of scheduling interviews at the end of the month, this way there's  some sort of a structure to the madness.

    Greetings,

The more I learned about the process the more I get confuse. I hope someone could kindly help me.

I am a US Citizen and got married in Mexico. The USCI received the I-130 on December 14, 2017. My case has been with the NVC since August. I called the NVC last week and they stated that they had completed the case and the case would be sent to the US Consulate and depending the consulate I will get a interview letter. I inquired about the interview and the CSC rep could not provide me with a time frame when my wife could get the interview or estimate.

A friend ask me for my priority date and another friend stated to schedule the interview during the holiday. I got confused. Each case each different and each US Consulate is different. Another person who applied in Dec 2016 got her interviewed on Jan 2017. They got the letter of the interview on early Dec 2016.

When should I expect the letter of the interview? Where could I find my priority date?

    Thank You in advance.

Did you submit documents online or through regular mail?  If you did it online just log into  the CEAC login website and in the upper right corner it will show your PD.  If not look at your mail from USCIS those Notice of Action letters should contain your PD date.  Some embassies such as Mexico,Ghana and India seem to take longer to schedule interviews due to various reasons.  Take a look at the Immigration Timeline tab on the top of VJ site and put your country and filter the results this way you can see recent interview dates and get an idea of when yours might be.

we talked to the manager at nvc and she said sometimes embassy(mumbai) is reserved (for assigning interviews) for a particular type of visa for particular period of time. May be this month or from next month they start assigning interview dates to cr1 visa class

I think you might be on to something.  I had called NVC earlier today.  A very friendly rep told me that they are still assigning interviews worldwide(I feel like they say this everytime I call weather it is at the beginning, middle or end of a month).  She told me that there may be certain months where an embassy may only give interview spots for specific visa types so maybe that is what's happening these past few months.  I also know a few people personally that  got CC in Oct/Nov of 2017 and got their interview in February/March of 2018.  I think we can still hold out hope for another week or two for an interview in January.

I don't want to sound pessimistic but this is on basis of my research and experience over the last one year of the case complete to interview progress.

Most likely time during which you can expect to receive interview dates is the last week of month (Usually 26th -28th of the month). This pattern was followed during the abnormal last month as well. And apparently that time of  the month is over and if my hypothesis holds true we are looking at December end now with February interview dates.

Only thing which suggests that we might get interview dates this week is that very few interviews have been scheduled till now.

A reason to still have hope is that from looking at the Immigration Timeline data only about a handful of people have reported January interviews.  So I'm hoping that they are still scheduling interviews for January and maybe we will all hear something this week or next.

I got RFE at USCIS stage but after that as well NVC has been super slow in appointing interview date, been almost 2 months of idle time. Till last month everyone was getting interview date for the month after, without fail. I dont see anyone here with CC date before 20th Sept 2018, for mumbai Consulate. But God knows what went wrong last month that they scheduled only a handful of interviews and those too were very randomly selected.
Mumbai generally is not slow, majority of the people with CR1 filing from January 18 are already there in the states with their spouses. Its just some people are running outta luck.

I agree I have been looking at several VJ threads and looking at several timelines and not sure how the other consulates are doing but with the Mumbai consulate  things were running smoothly until what looks like mid to late September  prior to that for the most part you would get a CC then interview letter in 3-4 weeks then interview 6-8 weeks from CC date.  But since September it looks like the interview scheduling process/system drastically slowed down.  The NVC is still giving CC on a regular basis.  Doesn't make any sense to me.

Hi guys NVC receive my case on October 4th and today October 11th I received my Case number and invoice numbers by email. I was surprised by how fast that was, only took a week.

I have one questions once I get the process going and have all my documents together do I have to mail the package to NVC? or does it have to be done online electronically?

Thank you so much in advance for your responses!

According to the NVC website the letter from the NVC should tell you which method you should use to submit the documents.

Option 1-Scan and Upload documents-use this method if the letter from the NVC says "you may being online processing"

Option 2- If your NVC case number begins with one of the following prefixes:

AKD,  AMM,  BGH,  DMS,  GZO-- you would scan your documents and send all documents via email to NVC

Option 3-If option 1 or 2 don't apply then you would mail all your documents to NVC

How long is everyone waiting to call NVC after they receive the email from USCIS that their case was mailed to NVC?

I waited about a week and a half to call.  I think the location of your service center matters because some cases will get to the NVC faster than others.  Try to call during non peak hours I called on a Tuesday 8pm US Central Time was on hold for 40 mins...😒

  10. Got some good news!!! I signed up to get email alerts from the new USCIS website, I got an email early this morning saying an action was taken on my case.  Logged into my uscis account and saw that the case was approved!! VJ estimate was only off by a few days.  Good luck to everyone else that is waiting, your time will surely come!!

    PD: February 24

    Service Center: Potomac

Which Service center has the fastest processing time? Anyone knows?

From the extensive research I have done in the past 48 hours about various service centers and processing centers :)  .  According to both the USCIS and VJ website the fastest processing center is Vermont with Texas not far behind.  Although Potomac was considered to be among the fastest in prior months it looks like Potomac is with California and Nebraska now at least according to the USCIS(I couldn't find potomac processing times on the VJ website) This is really unfortunate since mine was just sent to the Potomac Center but lets wait and see...

Good luck to everyone and let the wait continue.....
