  1. Hi, I"m back safe from Jordan. Been home a little over two weeks. I wasn't able to get married there. The churchs there definately doesn't like the idea of internet relationships. We decided to do the K-1 visa. I mailed it from Jordan when I was there to avoid the fee hike..lol. They cashed my check today...yay!!!! It was so hard for me to come home. To be honest...it was my kids that made it possible to get on the plane. I'm finally getting back to a more normal routine. I promise I will come here and participate more. Thanks to everyone who gave me help. I really appreciate it. Now is the hard part.....waiting.
  2. Hi all, I've been in Jordan for about 11 days now. Still not married. Catholic church was a dead end. After giving them every paper they asked for they finally said no because my previous marriage and divorce was from the government, which is funny because before they said that was a good thing because if I had a church wedding they would never allow me to marry in church again. In messing with them I've come to the conclusion that they will never let any usa citizen marry in the catholic church in Jordan. I wish they had just told us from the beginning, no matter what you do we will never give permission.

We are trying the baptist church now. His brother works there and Sehrab was baptized and is on the books as being a member there. We will meet with the pastor on Tuesday. I really hope we get this worked out soon, I'm getting tired of sleeping with his mom..lol. I'm so glad I have as much time as I do here.

I haven't really had much time for sightseeing yet even though I've been to Amman almost everyday this week. I've been meeting his family and friends and everywhere we go they want to FEED me. I've never ate so much food in my life. He thanked me the other day for respecting his culture. He was afraid I would come and make fun of everything..lol. I love it here. It really is another world, everything is so different. Not having much luck understanding arabic yet. His mom's lessons are not going well. She speaks so fast and it all sounds jumbled to me.

I'll try to keep everyone updated on my Journey. Time does not move the same for me here..lol. Here is a link to a slideshow of pics I've taken so far. Family and friends. My first week in Jordan

  3. Have a wonderful trip to Jordan! As the others have said, plan on a trip to the embassy to get the paper. I think I had to pay for it in US dollars not jd's so make sure you have currency with you.

It took us 3 days of chasing down paperwork to marry there. I know jordanianprincess tried to marry in the Christian church and had to come back to America and file for the fianee visa.

Good luck and have a safe trip.

Yes it's my first time going there. I am very excited...I'm more nervous about the plan ride. Forget about the luggage...please don't lose MEEEEEEEE. I'm glad to hear about that paper. My fiance is christian and his paperwork is good. It's mine they have problem with. If all else fails I will go the fiance visa route too. He has already paid for and invited his family to a big wedding. I will be heartbroke if I don't get to wear my dress for them.

  4. Well, I think all i brought with me was my original birth certificate and original divorce papers. I cant remember anything else. I hope your time in Jordan is wonderful!

What papers is the church demanding from you? I am sure you can go to your City Hall and request a certified birth certificate and if you have been married before go to the court and request your divorce papers. I really dont know what else they would ask for. Have Fun!!!!!

Hi, I'm getting ready to leave. My wedding is planned for July 5. Any one here have experiance marrying a Christian in Jordan. I'm leaving Sunday and suddenly the church is demanding papers from me that is impossible for me to get, let alone in 2 business days. I'm getting frustrated.

The church is asking for that stuff which I have...but today they want a paper saying I have not been married since divorce and they want a paper saying my ex husband was christian too. It's crazy. I can promise that if hell froze over this very min my ex would give me nothing to help me. He hate that I'm getting married he was hoping I would come to my senses and come back to him. I came to my senses that's why I divorced him..lol. I'm hoping for the best but if nothing else we can always go for a fiance visa right? I hope to be starting a timeline soon.

  6. Hi, My name is Maggie. I've come across this site months ago and finally got the courage to introduce myself. My marriage is in July 2007. The whole process seems to be so overwelming. I'm so thankful I've found you all. Makes the journey seem more managable. I look forward to getting to know everyone and making some great friends.
