  1. We generally talk on the phone about twice a day. I'm spoiled to my good mornings  This is his last week in Jordan so we are only talking around 30 to 60 min a day. He's go so many people to say his goodbyes to and so much stuff to get ready before he comes. I'm being good about demanding attention, but I'm really missing my morning time.

  2. you know what people have asked for? a big bottle of tylenol .

omg I gave my husband tylenol when he had a huge headache and you'd think I had just made the sun rise or something!!! rofl...hours upon hours of him tying a hijab wicked tight around his head and drinking some lemon tea and I was like, here try this and voila in 20 minutes no more headache!

I forgot about the Excedrin. They all loved it and now I"m always sending huge bottles of it back. He's like a drug dealer...passing it around the family... .

  3. For girls try makeup or sunscreen or anything that could be way expensive or different over there. In Jordan they have lots of cheap makeup-- it's also really nasty and often times filled with lead, etc. American make-up is really cool :) Also sunscreen is really expensive over there and the girls love it. I brought stuff rfom Bath and Body works and that was a great hit.

No idea about men. Men are too hard to shop for!

ETA cameras, etc are also good if they are much more expensive over there. The problem though with most electronics is the differing electrical systems.

I'll second the make-up and sunscreen. Other things I took that I meant to use myself, but ended up as gifts were: Orbit gum (doesn't stick to dental work..big hit with future mother in law..lol), Bubble yum for the kids, microwave popcorn, child proof Bic lighters, American Marlboros.

I wouldn't worry too much about buying them stuff that they don't have there. Just the fact that you bought it and carried it across the world for them will hold weight.

  4. Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if a marriage license is needed as part of the required documents at the K-1 Visa interview, do i need to get my wife to obtain one along side the affidavit of support? am still awaiting the interview date thou, as i was told could take up to 6-8weeks, please advice!

    Regards

    Ade

No you don't need a marriage license for the interview. Depending on the state you plan on marrying in, both of you may need to be present to obtain one and they are not good indefinately. Here in North Carolina a marriage license is only good for 60 days from the date it's issued and we both need to be there to get it.

  5. For us...His interview was March 10, 2008 and he picked up his passport with visa in it from Aramex March 19,2008....so 9 days. I was looking at his passport and it says visa was issued March 17, 2008.

So 7 days....issued and placed in his passport.

and 9 days....He had the actual passport and visa in his hand.
