I'm eating breakfast

Sounds like a smart kid to me....having his hot girlfriend make him hamburgers while wearing heels and a short skirt.
Doesn't your husband do that for you?
Does my husband allow me to make him hamburger? We don't actually eat burgers so the answer to that is no.

Sounds like just an ignorant statement to me.
Sergey is 21 years old, began school at one of the top universities in the world when he was 15. FIFTEEN years old. That's before kids have a drivers permit. He earned a master's degree in Physics from MIPT with straight A's, a full paid scholarship at Rice University for a Doctorate in Physics, works unloading trucks at night in a supermarket during school breaks and speaks, reads and writes four languages fluently. (Russian, Ukrainian, English, and German) How many languages, degrees, jobs and scholarships do most "lazy kids" have?
Seems strange that a person needs to come into a perfectly civil thread and toss foul language personal insults at people's children. How does that sound to you? How do you think it sounds to others? And then when the foul language is removed, come BACK and hurl the insult again...minus the foul language. That's bizarre.
Why would someone do that? It is not something I would do in, say, the Canadian or UK forum...go there and say someone's child sounds lazy? Using langage so foul it is against TOS. Seriously? What kind of life would I have to be lacking to do something like that? Insulting someone's children with vulgar language? Are you off to other regional sub-forums now to insult Muslims, Orientals, Africans, South Americans and use foul language against their children?
There must be something seriously wrong. Seriously. Wrong.
Well someone who expects a woman to wait on them sounds lazy to me.
And good job to Alla's sons for doing so well in their academic lives.
Also...I was not trying to be mean at all. I would say that to anyone who said the same thing about a kid. Male or female.

I started watching Flight last night and enjoyed it. I am going to finish it in a few.

Alla will tell you that Dasha is the problem (absolving herself, of course ) because he always "has a woman to do everything for him". Dasha would assemble the hamburger with only the condiments he likes and deliver it to him at his computer desk. Wearing heels and a short skirt. The Russian way. I, on the other hand, say "Burgers are ready!" and leave everything on the counter to be assembled as one sees fit. The American way. He is a rocket scientist, not a chef.
I will repost without "bad language"
This kid just sounds lazy to me

Today I ate 2 crackers. I don't really do carbs. I'll have crackers again in a few months.

I will: you've gotten a little hysterical about this. Some people don't like to be called 3 times a day, and I personally think it would be cute at 16 but not at my age. Perhaps some do! I don't!
But alas, I am blocked, so I will never hear your words as to why you object to my personal opinion about this, why my opinion about my own life is somehow not valid. Or another one of your tirades about manipulation and shaming, which I always find so droll and amusing since they're replete with attempts to manipulate and shame. I'd say you might be projecting yourself but then -- oh, the agony! I am blocked.
maybe he just needs a vibrator to cure his hysteria

I don't work and I would never want my SO to call me multiple times a day. That would be so annoying. I'd seriously just ignore the calls if it happened. There's actually only 2-3 people I would even consider talking to once a day. When my phone rings I actually sigh and think 'leave me alone!'

Interesting article, and also here is an interesting bit from Wikipedia about the author:
Thanks for that. I just thought it was an interesting viewpoint.

I woke up around 4am today. I took two naps because of it. Now I'm making my Thanksgiving cooking plan and getting ready to prep stuff and smoke a turkey tomorrow. Everything else will happen on Thursday.

you are a frustrated individual projecting your failure on accomplished persons, rather than empowering yourself.

As the volatility between Israel and Gaza continues to transform, one constant remains: rising “collateral damage.” Unrest in Israel traces back six decades but the concept of collateral damage stretches back several millennia. And while in modern times we are allegedly “more civilized,” 11-month-old Omar Masharawi’s funeral, three dead Israelis, and a horrifying 120 killed Palestinians, tell a different story.
Prophet Muhammad is history’s first major figure to condemn collateral damage in word and deed. His advanced rules of war established 1400 years ago a yet unmatched humanitarian standard. And herein lies the solution to modern conflict. The Qur’an first describes when fighting is permitted:
Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged… Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly only because they said, ‘Our Lord is God’ — And if God did not repel some men by means of others, there would surely have been pulled down temples and churches and synagogues and mosques... (22:40-41).
Thus, the permission—not commandment—to fight is defensive. And that fighting protects temples, churches, synagogues, and mosques—which is to say, universal religious freedom.
While critics and extremist groups both love to cite Qur’anic excerpts like “kill them where ye find them,” they ignore that such verses clearly refer to treatment of those who would violently persecute Christians, Jews, or any person because of his faith. Indeed, Muhammad commanded the following uncompromising rules of war:
O people! I charge you with ten rules; learn them well…for your guidance in the battlefield! Do not commit treachery, or deviate from the right path. You must not mutilate dead bodies. Neither kill a child, nor a woman, nor an aged man. Bring no harm to the trees, nor burn them with fire, especially those which are fruitful. Slay not any of the enemy's flock, save for your food. You are likely to pass by people who have devoted their lives to monastic services; leave them alone.
Thus, Muhammad’s rules of war permit defensive fighting against active combatants while forbidding harm to anyone or anything else—human, animal, or property. Contrast this with Hamas rocket attacks and PIJ terrorist attacks—the distinction is clear. Likewise, as Gaza’s death count rises, Israel also has blood on its hands. According to Muhammad’s rules of war, no justification exists for either side to attack civilians, property, animals, or anyone who is not an active combatant.
And even against combatants, Muhammad put Muslims on notice. Once, Usama bin Zaid overcame an enemy soldier in hand-to-hand combat. The soldier implored Usama for amnesty just as Usama prepared to deliver the deathblow. Usama heard but ignored the plea and killed him anyway. Learning of this, Muhammad vociferously condemned Usama’s act as repulsive to Islamic rules of war.
Mind you, this combatant persecuted Muslims, helped exile them from Mecca, pursued them to murder them, and even then Muhammad required Usama to accept his amnesty plea—knowing full well the plea could be a lie.
Muhammad assumed this risk because he refused to forsake any opportunity for peace. After Muhammad, the Khalifa Umar, and centuries later, the legendary Muslim General Salahuddin, again demonstrated these principles. Both insisted Jews return to Jerusalem—as equals—whereas they suffered immense persecution under Christian rule.
Even ardent critics of Islam such as Sir William Muir admit that Muslims treated POWs with immense dignity. Captives were well fed and ransoms were according to their means. Indigent captives, meanwhile, “were allotted ten boys to be taught the art of writing” as a ransom.
A ransom of education—an example Hamas and PIJ have forgotten, and one Israel doesn’t know.
History demonstrates that Muhammad’s rules of war—when applied with justice—lead to peace. If applied today, Muhammad’s rules can end not only collateral damage, but war itself.

What's impressive to someone depends on what they're used to. When you come from nothing, a little something is like wow.
I see!

You mean Pasha? No "c".
Pasha is nearly a vegetarian, he prefers salads, fresh fruit, tomatoes, onions, peppers, borscht and other soups. Only small amounts of meat. He makes his own lunch to bring to school, which is only two days per week at high school since he has already run the course of classes they have. He attends the University of Vermont two nights per week for AP Statistics and AP Physics classes, he eats at home before he goes and eats nothing at all after 8pm. He runs every evening and has weight lifting equipment in the basement he uses every day. He plays Lacrosse in the spring and wrestling in winter. He also loves snowboarding and goes with the school every Friday during the season. Since we live on a lake with a private beach he swims frequently but also enjoys swimming in mountain streams and natural pools, jumping off waterfalls and such. (photos at my profile) He enjoys flying light aircraft also. He likes to shoot skeet and does quite well at it. He has a part time job at a grocery store for the school year, early in the morning. He does homework in the evening after running. He drinks fresh "raw" milk we get from a nearby farm and water. Never soda. Never alcohol. He has a very Ukrainian diet (minus alcohol). Drinks are warm, not cold.
The government does not pay for his food. If they ended the lunch program today Pasha (no "c") would not know the difference.
Oh, and Pavel (Pasha is a "short name" for Pavel. Alla calls him "Pashik" or "Pavlik" or "Pashinka" but those are names only a mother uses) has the Volvo, not Alla. It is the S80T6 twin turbocharged model, black on black with aluminum wheels. Smokin' hot ride! A rocket sled! He earned it with three years of working a summer job (beginning at age 14, legal in Vermont)50-60 hours per week and saving his money. Paid cash for it, bought a set of winter tires the next day and paid his insurance a year in advance.
He has been on the honor roll since his first semester here, was promoted from 8th grade to 10th grade 3 months after his arrival though we insisted on a 4 year program, which is why he is now taking college courses in "high school". He skipped over half the 8th grade and all the 9th grade classes.
I attribute all this to his non-government diet.
Sounds like you're very proud of him.
I don't know about where you come from, but where I'm from, it is the norm to take college classes in your last two years of high school. Most offer dual high school/college credit.
