Only list trips since he became LPR
Thank you. We are filling it out and went to Japan, Vietnam and Thailand, Asia in December. Should we break out each country by dates or can we say we went from X to Y, these countries included? @OldUser

My husband is working on filling out the online form. They said they want the last 5 years of trips, but my husband only moved here in 2020. Should we include trips he took leaving the UK to the US or other countries? But it says on the form, "List all trips in the 5 years anytime you left the USA" but again, didnt move here until 2020.

Once your N400 gets to the interview stage then you're very much in a different queue than people only waiting on a i751.
I read when you submit for the N400, in the cover letter its not a bad idea to request combo interview so they know. should we not do that?

Hi all,
I created a N-400 March 2024 thread because I didnt see one. If one exists, please let me know and I can delete this one.
We would like to send this soon, but the last thing we have to finish is our cover letter. Can you please let me know the following questions and feedback on the document or our document list? We are sending this online but thought this would be a nice to have. My husband is applying and is British.
Cover Letter
1. How do I confirm field office for Chicago? Is it the same location where we had our first green card interview together?
2. I have seen people on various cover letter use MSC to identify their case, but I only have our Lin and what I saw on our 48 month extension letter.

Sorry, not 751 interview. i mean our first gc interview in 2021. we are asking for combo 751 and 400, correct.
it says on the chicago citizenship to go here: Submit Form N-400, Application for Naturalization – Illinois residents must submit their complete application and supporting documentation to USCIS, P.O. Box 21251, Phoenix, AZ 85036.
is that if you do it via paper?
or it says the field office (where we had our last interview) is 101 W Ida B. Wells Dr
so how do i confirm which address to put on the cover letter?

Should we include a copy of our 36 month extension letter, or only 48? Thank you for the rest of your help!
2. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
3. Don't know what you mean
4. You can scan it as JPG and paste both JPGs into a word doc then PDF the word doc -
Working on submitting - so close! a few final questions:
1. Anyone have a cover letter asking for combo interview i could review?
2. Tax return Transcript: I cant seem to find the right URL..Anyone have it handy? We asked for those in 2022 (2021 and 2022) when we were applying in January 2023 for the 751- so it says requesting date 2022. Do I need to re request? We do need to request for 2023
3. Should we also include the 36 ext letter? (instead of just 48?) A
4. my scanner is forcing me to do one pdf side at a time (ex green card one pdf scanned for front, and a new pdf scanned for back) instead of a combined. i assume thats okay? so a unique pdf for front and back of all docs? (gc, ext letter)

last question, for the docs you actually upload, do they have a naming convention they prefer? i am putting something like this: SeanPassportPage_CaitlinSean_2024? or if its our apt insurance maybe change to last years? trying to keep it consistent.

Thanks for the notes, are there are example cover letters I can find to see? Yes, the tax return transcript is what I meant. We asked for those in 2022 (2021 and 2022) when we were applying in January 2023 for the 751- so it says requesting date 2022. Do I need to re request? We do need to request for 2023 - I forgot the website. is there a chance you have it handy?

If you still have I-751 pending it's advisable to write a cover letter asking for combo interview. And even more importantly, include the copy of extension letter so I-751 case can be connected to N-400.
You can upload this letters in additional evidence section.
P.S what is the summary sheet fron IRS website? Download tax return transcripts for each year from IRS website and upload it.
Photos are great, but if you have boarding passes / reservations from each trip, that's even more valuable.

Ive seen some people here above creating cover letters, etc..we dont need to do that anymore since its online right?
we are working on gathering our stuff before we start online application; is list below good enough?
1 File 400 2 3 X years of tax returns (Summary sheet from the IRS website)3 Birth certificates for both of us4 Photo passport pages for both of us5 Current Apt Rent Copy6 Current Apt Insurance Copy7 Green card front and back8 Marriage certificate 9 Photo of our jointly held credit card10 6 pages of photos (18 total photos) from the past year (time we renewed the GC) with holidays, trips and our anniversary.11 Current join health insurance12 Joint Bank Statements -
Additionally, we created an account and we cant find the USCIS online account number. there is no profile page or anything anywhere. i doubt you have to have it to apply for citizenship but it would be nice.

Hi all, to confirm, my husbands green card expiration date is march 23, 2022 - so we are okay to apply for citizenship this month right? i am the american citizen and we have been married since march 2020.

My husband applied in March and have his interview scheduled for 6/17 in Chicago. No update to the 751. I saw some posts of their 400 getting scheduled then unscheduled - we did say in our CL a combo interview. What is the chance of them unscheduling my husbands interview? We only need to bring what is on the list in the letter right, no more proof anymore? The only thing we saw is "selective service registration", what is that?
