I suggest he/she makes an info pass first before seeking a lawyer. He/she might find an answer if he took an appointment and ask they what is going on.
Located in Minneapolis. i know it is taking way too long. Did several inquiry for my pending I-751 and already passed N400 and still get the same answer every time which is "We are working on your case" bla bla. hope you'll get yours soon.

Did you try to receive any information about why it takes so long? See, I'm not sure if 120 days rule applies to the situation when I-751 is pending...and I truly hope that my case is not just dusting on someone's desk like in one of the previous messages
Every time i call or make a service request, it is all the same answer. "IT Is PENDING"

FIRST i had the extension letter.. then that expired.. then i had my FIRST extension stamp on my passport... then that expired..... now i am on my SECOND extension stamp on my passport. SO...

Hello! I'm June 2017 filler and had my N-400 interview in February 2019. Not sure if it was a combo or not (IO asked for evidence and relationship related questions but didn't call my husband in)...anyway, he didn't approve neither N-400 nor I-751 and I didn't hear anything back since then... made a bunch of calls, service requests, and info pass apt. All they can tell my both petitions are pending
I had to go and get already second stamp in my passport ...so tired of this bs. Yesterday I wrote a letter to my congressman, not sure if that will help though.
My I-751 is pending for 23 months now (no RFE), N-400 is more than 90 days passed after the interview (I heard they have to make a decision within 120 days but not sure if this applied to my case).
Any other advice about what else can be done? Thanks!
I am in the same boat as you. Filed ROC Feb 2017 and N400 Feb 2018. Had my citizenship interview Feb.11th of this year and passed. (she checked the passed box) and asked some additional documents for my ROc which i provided the same day. Since then nothing.. im in a limbo.
my 120 day will be June 11th. hopefully we will hear positive updates soon.

Sorry for being absent for the last few months. It is ironic that my name here is "POSITIVEthinker" but been depressed (joking} since Feb 11. haha
I passed my Citizenship interview on FEB 11th this year but there is no news, no updates, nothing on my case because of my pending ROC i-751 since then.
It has been exact 3months and 1 week since my interview approval. Hopefully will get my OATH notice soon before i get REALLY depressed. lol
other than that life is great. I am happy for everyone who had completed their N400 journey here successfully.

I've gone through our most recent listing (Page 150 of our grouping, as of April 5th) and have found the following names without any progress since biometrics. I'm hoping that some of these are just folk who have not come back to tell us their story. Here are the names. If you know any of these folks, can we get the list updated? So is the consensus just to show up at the N400 interview and hope that they adjudicate both? We still have I751 pending since last year with no updates/transfers/RFEs. Just wondering if I need to call someone
at your N400 interview they will interview both of you. at least that's what happened to me. so bring your spouse with lots of supporting evidence as if you are going to a i751 as well as n400. goodluck dear

Hello All,
I had my N400 interview on February 25th at Minneapolis and everything went well. I passed the civics but was handed a decision cannot be made. IO said he needed to review my file. My status online still shows Interview Scheduled. When should i expect a decision and an online status change. Anyone in this situation. Thanks
had mine on the 11th FEB. Passed the interview and got approved for N400 on that day. it still says Interview was scheduled. (because of pending i-751)

I passed the N400 interview last Monday. But had a pending i-751...
so I had to get my 2rd extension stamp yesterday. (had to check infopass for dozen times a day to get an appt and finally got one around 2 am in the morning because my first stamp was expiring in few days)
By surprise, the nice officer who interviewed me were at the kiosk and stamped me for another 1 year. I asked her whats going on with my case and she basically said that it is out of her control since (other officers) have to work on my i-751 or something????
i dont know. im just speechless. why does it have to take so long to adjudicate my case it is been 2 years already since i filed to get my condition removed hahahah 🙄
2 years 1 week later... still waiting.
Anyway, those who have their oaths scheduled and those who are waiting to get interviewed ALL the BEST 😍

Today was my interview at 9 am.
Went there at 9.05 and was called for the interview around 9.25 am.
Brought my hubby with me in case they wanted to interview him for the PENDING I-751 (REMOVAL OF CONDITION) and thank GOD i did.
Greeted the lady who were going to interview me and told her that i have brought my husband for the interview as well. She said no worries it is not needed for the N-400 application.
We went to her office and she asked me standard procedural questions like "How many times did i travel outside of US" and my current address etc.
While doing so she was surprised to see (from my thick file she had on her desk) that i had a PENDING ROC and informed me that i have to clear out the situation before proceeding to the N400.
i was quiet surprised to hear that because i thought anyone who is going to interview me should know that before hand. But quiet the opposite and it was apparent that she had no idea of ROC and my simple N400 case turned into complex ROC/N400 questions.
She asked if i had brought any "supporting documents" for i751 and i panicked. Because even though i brought every documents i had all these years with me to the interview she specifically asked for at least 3 docs showing "RECENT JOINT PAYMENT OR INSURANCES" and asked me questions about my husband etc (at this point im thinking OH NOOO THIS IS NOT I READ ON VISAJOURNEY FORUM ) hehe 😂 ( SHE NEEDED LIKE "RECENT" recent files and docs)
I answered every questions calmly and confidently including the 6 CIVIC questions. She pointed out to me several times that I HAVE PASSED THE N400 TESTS AND INTERVIEW but i still needed to show her documents and bla bla..
I was so dreaded by the thought that this is gonna take longer than it should have (waiting for my Green card for 2 years and 2 extensions already) i suggested to her i could print out extra documents and show it to her today after the interview. She was kind of understanding of the situation and told me to drop the documents by 3 pm OR she could send me a "ADDITIONAL SUPPORT EVIDENCE" letter and i would get it in few weeks. i was like.... ohhh nooo no more waiting for me and i said i would drop the paperworks by 3pm.
I even reminded her again that my husband is outside in the lobby and she was like "ohhh that reminds me.... i should interview your husband ".
before she let me out of her office she asked me more questions about my husband like fav colors, food etc.
So here goes my hubby and not knowing he was gonna get interviewed (we all thought it was gonna be simple 6 Q civic test) hahaha
He comes back from her office within 5 mins and i was so in rush to print documents back home i literally rushed us off of the building in mins. 😀
Came home printed more recent stuff that holds both our names drove back to the office and dropped off the files.
Now i am just waiting for the "IN LINE FOR OATH" or that dreaded letter i dont want to receive.
So GUYS... THOSE WHO HAVE PENDING I-751 BRING YO WIVES, BRING YO HUBBIES.. BRING ALL OF YOUR RECENT JOINT PAPERWORKS. BE PREPARED. BE NOT LIKE ME ...
I AM 99.9% DONE.... NOW JUST GOTTA WAIT. .... more? hrmmm 🙄

adding mine as well. I sent a nice letter to my Senator, and politely suggested processing times were too long in MSP Field Office. Her office inquired on my behalf. Reply from USCIS said " A review of our systems shows this case is currently awaiting interview scheduling by the St. Paul Field Office. Once the field office schedules this case for an interview, your constituent will receive an interview notice stating the date and time to appear for the scheduled interview. Once the interview is scheduled, the NBC will then forward the file to the field office." NBC is National Benefits Center in Missouri. So I guess, as everyone suspected, bottleneck is at MSP Field Office (probably because of increased number of applicants year-on-year). Hope this info helps those waiting.
I contacted both MN senators and got the exact same response.

It extends for 18 months, and I assume they take into consideration the date of the original Green Card (because apparently they are sending these new letters regardless of you having a I551 stamp or not). This means that, according to this letter, I had 12 (that already passed) + 6 more months in which I can use this to prove my status.
HOWEVER the I551 stamp itself that I got a couple weeks ago is valid for 12 months... I know, very confusing.
ok thanks. this extension letter wouldn't do much for me then. even if i get it it would be valid till September. i guess i would just use my i551 to travel which is valid till next year feb .

Now, a year after the application and pretty much three weeks after visiting the field office, I am pretty much surprised to see in the mail a second form I 797 which says that "Your conditional status has been extended for 18 months from the expiration date on your form I-551, Permanent Resident Card". It also says that "This notice, presented with your expired Permanent Residency Card, is proof of your status"... but I obviously don't have a physical card anymore because the physical green card was retained by the USCIS officer when I went there for the I-551 stamp.
I have a question. So how long did it extend it for? I know it says 18 months but is it from the GC expiration date or from the I551 stamp date? Because i am also experiencing a similar situation. upon getting my i551 stamp they took my expired GC and i also need to travel internationally in the next month or so..
