Thursday 11th October. Passport was ready for pick up the following Thursday. I was pleasantly surprised

Ours has finally been issued. We are hoping he can fly out here the 30th of October, so our fingers are crossed it arrives by Friday :)

Another point, at least in my experience. I picked mine up yesterday. I was expecting to hear from the courier directly to say they had it. I received an email from the Embassy saying the courier had picked it up. This email had the tracking number which when clicked on showed the date it was available (I chose the pick up option). The courier didn't contact at all, so don't panic if they don't, just collect it on the date it says. Which was the following day for me :)

I'm curious when was your interview?

It will say ISSUED when it is done. The other changes don't mean a lot and vary from case to case. Another hint that you are close to Issued is where it said "Immigrant" will change to "nonImmigrant".

Once it says Issued, it takes around two days for the courier to receive it, package it up for delivery, and notify you. The courier gives you a tracking number. Delivery is almost always the next day after you get the email. The courier is not DHL. It is DX.

Thank you! And you are correct I think the DHL just stuck from the NVC to Embassy part. It does now say non-immigrant so we are hopefully close, fingers crossed 🤞🏽

  4. So my fiance had his interview on the 17 of October and the K-1 was approved. On the CEAC website his status in the past couple of days has gone from

    ready 10/16->AP 10/17->ready 10/17->Application Received 10/18

I was wondering if they will be emailing us once it's issued and if we get a DHL tracking number. If we don't is there a way to track it once it's at DHL?

    Thank in advance,

    Siren

I've seen a lot of posts on here recently asking about interview availability and thought I would share. I booked his interview today and the soonest available appointment was November 8th. 😭 A few weeks ago people were saying they got an interview within 2 weeks so I'm absolutely heartbroken.

On the bright side, his medical is booked for October 3rd so Knightsbridge should have NO problems getting it there on time!

Has anyone had any luck checking in for closer interviews? Hoping we might be able to get something a bit sooner than November but don't think we'll have any luck.

I got an October 17, I checked earlier there was still a 31st!

  6. This was in the email appointment confirmation email:

You have successfully scheduled your appointment and paid the K Visa application fee. Here are the details of your transaction.

You must print this instruction page and bring it with you to your consular interview, along with the letter or email you received from the Consular Section.

What is the letter they are talking about? Is it the email that the NVC sent stating our case was forwarded to the embassy?

    Thanks in advance xx

Relax. London is easy on this situation. You have options.

Yes, your father can sponsor and he's the one to fill out the I-134 and provide the proof of income. You don't have to do one.

Yes, your fiancé can self-sponsor and the money does not have to be transferred to the US. £30,000 will be enough.  There is no I-134 for self-sponsoring. He brings financial statements showing his savings. A summary sheet might be useful showing bank name(s) and amounts held and maybe an exchange rate for the day the balance was reported. Some doing this have been asked "how to you plan to get the money to the US?" He can just say using Transferwise or name another transfer website like XE.com.

No, the immigrant visa unit in London (who process K1s) will not talk to you on the phone. The amount is totally up to the judgement of the guy interviewing. Others have been approved with that much. I wouldn't expect almost $40k rejected.

Thank you! I am so glad to get some piece of mind I was so stressed because of this.

Correct. Although you technically should have a signed letter stating that you were not required to file taxes for the most recent tax year since you didn't have enough income to be required to file. I doubt they would be that picky with this at London, though. It will be required for AOS, however.

And yes, the visa applicant can self sponsor in London via sufficient assets. This is at the CO's discretion (as is any public charge decision).

How can the visa applicant self sponsor and what is the amount needed?

  10. So we filed for the K-1 for my fiance who is British, and we are currently in the NVC stage. From when we started the process we knew we would need a cosponsor because I am currently an engineering student and won't graduate until May 2019. Our cosponsor would be my father who makes way above the 125% poverty and will also cosponsor for AOS. I have recently become super worried because I have read while searching for information about the i-134 that some embassies do not accept a cosponsor. I am not sure if that is true or not since I haven't been able to find anything official. I would also like to add that my fiance has 30,000 GBP in savings to transfer once he is in the U.S. That would be more than enough to live off of until I get a full time job as an engineer. How can I add that into the I-134? His interview will be at the London embassy so any input from anyone that went through this would be greatly appreciated. My stomach is currently in knots 😕

DS160 can be filed anytime but some Embassy's require different procedures. See your Embassy's P3 below. Same with medical.

    Once you receive case number:

First of all, if you haven’t already done so, make sure you complete your DS-160 and request your police certificate.  Now that you have your case number, you can call Knightsbridge to schedule your medical exam.  You’ll need to give them your case number when you schedule your appointment.  Once you have your exam scheduled, DS-160 completed and have everything else that you need for your interview, complete the Notification of Applicant Readiness Form and when your NVC case status changes to “In-transit” you can go to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv to create an account and schedule an interview.  Make sure that you allow at least 5 working days between the date of your medical exam and the date of your interview or risk the results from the exam not arriving in time.  For your interview go here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/  or call here 442074867822
