FYI- I finally received an update after 6 weeks. They returned my applications because it was received ONE day prior to the 90 day period. I planned for FedEx to deliver 2 days after the 90 day begins but for some reason it was delivered earlier and they ended up receiving early. This is frustrating now that I have to send everything back while nothing needs to be changed.

Oh no! I'm so sorry that this happened. I also used FedEx and mailed mine out 2 days before the 90 day period. It was supposed to be delivered the next Monday (my 90 day opens the Friday) but FedEx magically got it delivered early morning on Friday. After reading so many posts of people's package being return even when they got delivered on first day of the window makes me so anxious now. I should have just waited to mail it out on that Saturday...

Now I don't know and can only pray the person open my mail knows it got delivered within the 90 window.

    Hello guys!

We are in Houston so probably the slowest office possible... when would you consider renewing the EAD and AP?  It's still valid until July but just wondering since it took 5 months to get it maybe I should file for renewal now? ... really starting to be worried that we won't get our interview before July... what do you guys think?    (... why is Houston office so slow :( )

They just sent interview letter to 11/27/17, I believe it won't be long for us!

Hey! Mine will be one year next month. About to send my EAD renewal today.

If the interviewing pace keeps up, we should be interviewing in about 6 months' time! Have you done your medical? I should start looking into it.

Hey, I know Houston recently sent interview letters to July and August 2017 PD, but it stopped after the new year. I'll probably get the medical done sometime after March, since flu shot is seasonal requirement for the vaccines. Hopefully we could get the interview before October...

    Hi guys,

I am applying to renew my EAD and got a question. I came here with F-1 visa and got married for AOS but I am currently not going to school so my SEVIS is terminated. Should I still fill out my SEVIS number in the form or leave it blank?

    Thank you

    Yay, congratulations!

No you don't need it. The blank was intended for student OPT EAD.

    Hi guys,

So I submitted a renewal package for EAD but not with the AP, is it still ok?

Yes it's okay. Your new EAD card would have the line for "re-entry permit" but you can apply for AP anytime after you submit the EAD renewal.

  4. It's 2019 now, a year after application receipt date. Who else are left here😂

I just received the receipt number for combo card renewal, and today I'm supposed to hear back from potential employer about a job offer. Good luck to me!

According to Houston filing time, people with August 2017 PD are getting interviews this month. Hopefully there's no more delay in the field office and we can get GC in around July/August! Cheers

    Hello All,

I just got a notification today that my 'CASE IS READY TO BE SCHEDULED FOR AN INTERVIEW'.

My PD is June-2017 and I had filed my AOS on 20th Feb 2018.

I received my EAD/AP combo card on June 1 2018 and my case is with the local field office in Los Angeles, CA.

I am filed under EB1C (International Managerial) category and my country of Chargeability is India.

How long can it take before the interview is scheduled?

I would really appreciate if anybody on this forum with a similar timeline and category has any information.

    Thank you!

My PD is 1/30 and case was ready since 3/21. And here I am preparing to send out combo card renewal package!

Same here. But it says "as of April 9". Seems like a glitch.

Our dates seem more accurate than those updated to March 14-15, since there were a lot of them (PD ranged from Feb 2017 through Feb 2018). I tend to believe they updated the phrase for this ready status in new system, so all were at "scheduling" before changed to "ready for schedule" on March 14-15. Our cases were submitted and responded to RFE later, thus it got ready status whenever USCIS updated it. Like I responded March 8 and got a courtesy letter on March 21. It was ready since March 22.

Yeah I'll give them a call again later. Is the DPS same as DMV, Department of Motor Vehicle?

I'll ask for verification number if they said they've put in. If not, then I'd ask them what I need to do to get my Driver's license request verified.

    Sounds good!

Yes, DPS shall be the DMV in Cali. In Texas they separated DPS from DMV and DMV only managed title issue, registration and alike.

Thank you! I checked the site but it only shows on 7/2 the SSA verified my case and it has been returned to agency.

I don't see any records of DMV verifying my case on this website (which they told me they needed to verify with DHS).

I'm confused. Does that mean they never submitted a request and I needed to call them again to see what's going on?

In addition, adding to the frustration today, I was not able to take my HR certificate exam because they neither accepted my expired driver's license (in my maiden name) with a renewal notice under my married name nor my EAD card because it doesn't have a signature on it. I'm more than upset at this point knowing DMV hasn't even submitted a request yet.

I'll give them a call at the 6 weeks mark again and ask for the verification number.

Thanks a lot for the website anyway.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this mess. Normally when the website showed the case was returned to agency (State DPS), it means we could go back to the DPS to renew the DL. Not really sure why there's no entry on the site. I think you should go to the DPS ASAP just to make sure, act as if this is your first time to renew. If the staff tell you there's a pending verification in the system, that'd be great, if not, they will put it in this time (I hope)...

Congrats on getting everything done! I'm guessing you didn't ask for the REAL ID version of Driver's license then.

Keep me updated about your trip. I'm going to travel later this year and I'm a bit scared.

Well, Texas has always been using the DL under the real ID act (has a little star on the face). But I already had the valid DL under H1b visa which went through the second verification last year... I remember waiting two weeks to get it done.

As for the travel, I plan to use my unexpired H1b visa stamp so that might be different in your case. As what I hear from other people, the AP worked fine cause she went back and forth for fourth times and didn't have any problem with the AP.

    Update 7/26/2018

I received my new social security card on 7/10/2018 (Applied 7/2).  However, I still have a long wait for my driver's license (Applied 7/3). 3 weeks after my 4 hour visit in DMV, I waited for 2 hours on the phone to talk to a representative.

The representative was very nice. She told me that since I'm not a citizen, my status needs to be verified with DHS (I applied for a CA REAL ID), which usually takes at least 4-6 weeks. She has witnessed people having to renew their temporary driver's license (3 months valid from the issue date) but she told me it's anyway free to renew the temporary one.

Well I'm anyway back at work and I don't really care much about that.

Good to know the updates! I've been checking to see if you got everything lol

For me, I got the SSN two days after receiving combo card. But my SSN omits the middle name (which is my maiden name), so I took the SSN and combo card to SSA to get it updated. The officer was giving me hard time for not checking the application, while it's not even my fault. :( Anyways he kept saying I should have applied for correct name to decrease their workload blah blah blah, and I'm just pretending I'm listening. After the SSA I went to DPS for name change. This time it was a lot longer wait than the SSA, mostly because the DPS in Houston shut down several locations during the summer and people has to go to only two near the city. I spent an hour waiting (with my appointment), and was allowed in the building 45 minutes passed the appointment time. The process was quick enough since I'm only updating my name without changing the effective date (current visa status expire in 2020). Timeline for my update process:

    7/3/18 received combo card

7/5/18 received SSN with update name (wrongly omitted my middle name)

    7/6/18 updated SSN and DL

7/13/18 received SSN with corrected name

    7/20/18 received updated DL

Planning to add note on my passport on 8/15. International trip booked for 8/28. Hopefully everything will be smooth!

Small update: this morning I received three emails stating:
"We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time
We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on June 26, 2018."

Mostly routine, except the last time myUSCIS displayed an update was April 24, 2018 registering response to RFE and on the https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/ tracker the last date something changed there was May 30 indicating case ready to be scheduled for interview. I have been checking both trackers daily. So they did something on June 26, but I can't tell what as no changes are displayed. I read about something similar on another VJ post, and someone suggested it as the date their case was sent to the local field office. Anyone else see something like this? :)

This is an automated email for inactivity of account. You can turn off at dhs site -> setting -> don't send any email if there's no update. It wouldn't affect any notification for the actual movement of your case.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for your question, but I have a question for you, if you don't mind.

How did you know that ssn will arrive today? Is it through Informed Delivery? I can't seem to sign up for it and I don't know when I should start stalking the mailman for my ssn. Haha. Can you tell me where it is being mailed from? I might be able to estimate when mine will arrive. Thank you in advance!

Hey, I saw it from informed delivery daily digest in the morning. The envelope was stamped on 7/3 from zip code 27560. Hope that helps!

    Hello nation

This post is after a long hiatus. Finally got the news "we approved your case" for both I-765 and I-131.

    :jest:

How did your interview go? I thought you are done with the whole process already

  13. hello fellas! My EAD arrived this Tuesday (mailed on Mon) and the SSN will arrive today (mailed on Mon). My question is: I'm currently under H1b status with the approval i-797a and visa stamp under the maiden name. With the SSN updated to my married name, shall I go ahead and inform the HR name change? I'm worried that there's problem in amending my H1b documents but I do plan to use the h1b visa to re-enter the US coming September.
