Is there any situation in which a consular interview not be required for obtaining the spousal visa? My wife and I have been married since April 2018, and we initially filed her I-130 in June 2018. Our case was sent to the Embassy in Ciudad Juarez in June 2019, and we are still waiting for her Visa Interview Appointment. Considering that the Embassy is currently closed due to Covid-19, with no public plans for it to be reopened, has anyone heard of any cases where this step has been allowed to be skipped?

Trying to get a better sense of where we stood prior to the Consulate closing. I understand that the consulate reopening is an unknown factor, but if we knew that prior to this we only had 1 month left to wait vs. 8 months, for example, it would help take some of the uncertainty out of this.

If its not possible to find this information out from NVC then it is what it is. We're just trying to think outside the box to find a glimmer of hope.
