Congrats !

If you do not list the DOB of your prior spouse on the document it should be fine.
On the citizenship form (not applicable to you yet), there's another such ridiculous question >> "Name of the place where your prior spouse lives ?" Yeah right ! If people would keep track of prior spuses

Take a bank statement from both your personal A/c and business account stating the total deposits for the last 12 months.
Your income tax returns for last year (sometimes 3 years).
Hope your AGI is over the poverty line, else you need a co-sponsor.

2. you are married already and applying for a K1???...not possible
The OP should clarify, but it's my guess that if he made it to the interview stage that he meant to write "fiance." Or he meant to type K-3. Either way, his problem is the same.
3. you have to speak a common language to get a visaAre you sure about this?
I know there are intrepreters available in a lot of embassies. You have to request for one. There's no guarantee that they'll provide one

Hi All,
We just got married last Saturday, September 22nd. We are starting the AOS now. On the I-485 form it says to include the "Petitition Approval Notice". What exactly are they talking about? My wife is from The Philippines and she says she turned that in at the interview and doesn't have it. How about a copy of her visa? I'm also concerned that we won't be able to get the official marriage cert. in time since we only have about 18 days before the 90 days is up.
I have the petition approval that they sent me in the USA. Would that work?
Kevin
They are asking your I-129F approval notice commonly referred to as NOA2 here on VJ. I think whatever you have is what they are asking. Please refer to the images here http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=4
Since you guys got married within the 90-day period, you need not be concerned. You don't have to file AOS before her 90 days is up. File as soon as you can.
What state are you in (regarding the official mariage cert.) ?

I emailed Chennai yesterday asking if they have received our file. They responded that they have not received it and they should get the physical file in 1 to 2 weeks. I am assuming that they have already received the electronic version, correct me if I am wrong. Does anyone know when they would schedule the interview only after getting the physical file or is the electronic version good enough? I am just getting worried since Chennai releases the interview dates for November on Oct 10. I am hoping that if the file gets there by end of this week that should be enough time to get on the interview list.....never thought it would take so long to send a file from USA to India....
You should be good for Oct-10, I mean your wife will get an interview for the month of November.
I think you and your wife should start doing the paperwork. Police certs, etc...

Congratulations... Christmas was early for you this year

That's great news! Unfortunately my fiance is still afraid we'll somehow end up getting turned away at the border. Can anyone else confirm the legality of this?
While you're waiting for a more opinions, may I suggest you read the terms of your visa. Then think about how the any CBP officer would know you got married anyway. H1B visa holders are allowed to have immigrant intent. They can apply to adjust status to permanent resident and they can bring their spouses and children with them when they come here to work. It's really a no brainer when you understand the terms of the visa you already have.
Ditto !

Today I received Packet 4 for my wife's interview. She has been waiting for this for about two weeks since it is needed to get her medical done and submit documents to the VFS. I am surprised as to why I received it instead of my wife. I am the agent for her but I thought that the Packet 4 was suppose to go to her in India. Why was this sent to me in the United States. Any information on this matter would be appreciated.
She should be getting one too. They probably mailed it to both of you. In my case they did the same thing. If I were you, I would mail it your wife because with mail system in India you never know.....
Sandip
In other words you are asking him to courier it !

In Chennai they asked for the interview letter. However all they really need is the case number.

Thanks for your replies guys...but this is crazy... I just got a quote from another doctor for $150. He said Chicken Pox shot is not needed.
-
Make sure he carries the right sized photos :-)
Good luck.

My fiancee (entered on K-1) does not have any record of vaccinations.
Now to get the supplemental I-693A for AOS, a local doctor (USCIC certified) suggested that she get the foll vaccines:
1. TD
2. MMR
3. Chicken Pox
The cost is $300 for >>3 vaccines + documentation in sealed envelope.
Does this sound reasonable to you guys.
Thanks.

As a matter of fact you should be the one framing such a policy of NOT giving any of your documents to these scrupulous agents especially in North India. Tell him buzz off ! There's such policy, Find someone else. It is none of his business, as long as you pay him, he must issue you a ticket.
First of all how does he even know that you are going on a VISA, tell him you are USC or a GC holder.
IN ONE SENTENCE, ALL HE NEEDS FROM YOU IS THE NAME and MONEY FOR THE TICKET.
If you know anything about regulations, you would know that any airline which flies to the US HAS to give a list of passengers traveling on each flight. Homeland security scans the names and clears each passenger. Also, the airline is RESPONSIBLE for assuring that each passenger is traveling with valid travel documents. For each passenger without a valid visa/travel documents who boards the plane, the airline is fined $5,000. This applies even to shipping companies. Every seaman who is on a ship which docks in a US port has to have a valid visa, even if he doesn't intent to get off the ship.
But yes, I will be very anxious to give a copy of anything to a travel agent in Punjab/Delhi or anywhere else in North India.
If you have ever travelled, you should also know that the DHS warns to not share the documents and things taken onboard with any third parties.
You are right about the airlines taking the info from a non-USC.
You are wrong about a tom-#######-and-harry travel agent asking legitimately your travel documents.
Like I said above, would your travel agent ask for your US passport or GC if you said you are a USC or a GC holder ?
Our travel agents have not asked us such docs..

Flip the card along the LONG EDGE and you'll not ask the same question :-)

An attorney had told me that anyone could form an LLC or an S-Corp or any business entity, you don't have to have a Work permit for that. That is how international businesses are setup initially before they hire the localites.
However your case is, you probably could setup an LLC, but if you want to take salary from your LLC then you cannot, If you take the salary, technically it means you are working for that company when you do not have a work permit.
I don't think there should be no issues in setting it up and being in dormant mode until you get your work auth..
DO NOT GENERATE ANY REVENUES.
Why not register under your wife's name and later on (after your work auth), change it as you think appropriate. (Just my 2 cents).
-
Congrats to both of you!
-
NVC sends it within a week both electronically as well as physical copy.
However the embassies in India take a bit of time.
Chennai is the fastest. New Delhi and Mumbai are slow.
Email the embassy to check if they have received the file. (User your NVC case number in the email).

Congatulations dude...Happy for you !

Have you filed AR-11 when you moved ?
"YuAndDan" >> If he has not filed AR-11 and if he attends the interview isn't that going to be a problem.
Well come to think of it, would it be a problem even if he has filed AR-11 ? Would they still interview him/her since he/she does not belong to that district anymore ?
