If you are applying based on the 3 years rule marriage, then you list trips you have had outside the U.S while living in the U.S for those 3 years only.
The N-400 form requests 5 years of history, but that’s because most people that apply for the N-400 fall under the 5 years rule. Hope this helps 😊

That’s what I thought. Thank you SOOO much for your help. Much appreciated🙏🏻

  2. I’m in the process of applying for citizenship and I am bit confused re listing my trips outside of the states for the 5 year period.

I came to the US on November 2018 via K1 visa. That brings me to 3,5 years of being here. I have traveled twice outside of the states within those years and easily stated it on the application.

What to do about 1,5 year period (2017 - November 2018)? I did travel to Mexico and Russia but it was not “outside and back to the states” since I was living in Canada and travelled outside and back to Canada.
Do I list my trips AFTER coming to the states permanently?
I hope I was able to state my concerns clearly.

    TIA!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys, I've been a silent follower and observing everyone's contribution and learning from it. Thanks to @K1visaHopeful for your vast knowledge in this process.

16 days ago my status for AOS changed to "Case ready to be scheduled" and today my status changed to "interview was scheduled". This is not expedited and I am as surprised as everyone else.

My EAD is still on day 127. I did not apply for AP.

    Anyone from Baltimore LFO?

    Heeey!!! Yes, I’m from Baltimore☺️

My status has changed to “Interview was scheduled” today as well.

  4. I guess I am among the "lucky" ones lol.

I have received my NOA1 on Dec 28th and I was supposed to get my biometrics done on January 14th YAY.

January 14th: woke up, got my makeup done, got my hair done (gotta look good on the pic lol), looked outside - snow on the ground, sunny - COOL!

Got to the office and....SURPRISE - it was closed. Hmm, weird...tried to call, no one picked up, went on the USCIS website and found out that that particular office was closed "due to hazardous weather conditions". Well, I had nothing to do but to go back home. I have decided I would go back there on Wednesday as a walk-in.

Wednesday, January 16th: woke up, got my make up done, got my hair done.. you know the rest. Arrived to the AVS. It was open - YAY!! The "nicest" lady turned me back and said that I will have to wait another 2-3 weeks for USCIS to reschedule my biometrics. I had nothing to do but to go back home AGAIN.

To say that I am pissed, mad, disappointed, upset and all other synonyms is to say nothing!!! You can consider yourself lucky if you have your biometrics done by today.

    AVS: USCIS Glenmont, Maryland.

Partially true. It's rare to get it changed before DHS updates your name in their system. That will happen when your EAD/AP or GC is approved (whichever comes first).

You could get lucky and get an SSA agent who doesnt follow the policy though. So the majority of us apply to update our original maiden name card into our married name before the I94 expires and hope for the best.

Thanks you so much for your prompt response @K1visaHopeful.

Yes, that's what I did as well (my I-94 expires on Feb 9th). They accepted my docs (mc, passport, I-94) without asking for anything else, and that's why when the lady on the phone mentioned something about gc, I was in doubt. O well, will see what's going to happen.

  6. I have my SSN since 2015; however, I went to apply for my last name change on Nov 28th, and I haven't heard anything back from them since then. SAVE Case Check website has been showing "Returned to Agency" for the past 4 1/2 weeks.

I just got off the phone with one their representative, and the lady informed me that I CANNOT get my last name changed until I receive my green card. How true is it?

We were "ready" at the embassy on Friday, so fiance sent P3 before MTL asked for it that afternoon from HIS email address.

Today we got the reply back from the embassy saying "don't send this before we ask for it" around 1pm.

Around 3pm I got the email with P3 on MY email address, so we sent the info again from my email and are waiting for P4 now. Hoping to get it tomorrow!

We did contact NVC to update his email address as soon as CEAC said "At NVC" but they still sent P3 to me the petitioner.

    Hope it helps!

Thanks a lot for the information!

Our timelines are very similar; however, we are still in the process of waiting for our Packet 3. Hopefully, you get your Packet 4 tomorrow and we get our Packet 3 tomorrow as well lol

We did not contact NVC though, but I sent them an email today asking to add my (beneficiary's) email address to our file and update my physical address. After the email was sent, I could see our "Case Last Updated" date changed to today's date.

Thanks once again! We cannot wait for this process to be over lol

Got Packet 3 from Montreal today! Come on Packet 4!!

    Congratulations!!! That was so fast!

Did you actually try contacting the Embassy before you received Packet 3? Or did they contact you first?

Also, did the beneficiary receive an email or the petitioner? And did you contact NVC to give them beneficiary's email address?

Sorry for asking so many questions lol

    Thanks in advance!!!
