Typically it would take a few months according to what I've read in VJ threads. I don't have data to support it though.
Hi there!
I got status changed to 'new card is being produced.' today!!!!!!!
Thank you again for answering my questions about rfe previously.
I am so excited!!!!!!!
For folks that receive rfe, here's my timeline.
2/12/2024 USCIS sent me the RFE
2/15/2024 I received the RFE in my mailbox.
2/22/2024 I mailed my RFE response back to USCIS.
2/27/2024 Online status changed to 'Response to USCIS' Request for Evidence Was Received
3/6/2024 Online status changed to 'New Card is Being Produced'
I am eagerly waiting for the physical card. I hope it won't take that long.
And I think USCIS probably just wanted to get updated files from me since it has been a long time since I filed it in 2021 May.

Hi my lovely YSC filers.
Any idea how fast can uscis process RFE?
I am May 2021 filer, I received a RFE on 15th Feb, and sent the response back to USCIS last week, and as of yesterday, the online status shows 'Response To USCIS' Request for Evidence Was Received'.
I can't find much information anywhere in terms of timeline, not sure if anyone has any data points to share?
And with RFE, if let's say I don't hear back from them within the normal processing timeline (32.5 months), can I still contact USCIS?
Thanks!

Bank statements IS one of the most important documents USCIS wants to see. They want to see comingling finances on a daily basis, not just jointly filed taxes or even property. Send everything you have. I sent everything from start of marriage since I-751 instructions ask for it.
Thank you for this information.
I will definitely include everything I have. I didn't realize that they care about bank statements so much.

@CCCCCF the statements you submitted initially, did they have all pages in them? If there wasn't a question why you filed separately, I'd assume they're asking for evidence purely because it got a bit old and they wanted fresh evidence. Give the strongest response you can with evidence and hopefully you'll get approved.
Thanks. The statements I submitted initially had all pages in them, but I only provided like 3 months statements, as back then I thought I have provided very strong evidence, bank statement is only a small piece. Maybe that's the reason why they asked again?
I am not sure, but I just plan to include all evidence I have after 2021 May, and hopefully that will be sufficient for them to approve the case.

Finally! I-751 was approved (without interview) on 2/15/24, waiting for the card. N400 here we come...
I hope everyone else will be approved soon!
Hi ST_RO, I also received RFE, can I talk to you and get some guidance on the RFE? I am upset after such a long wait, they asked me for RFE. I think they are asking me to provide things I provided before.

Hi May21 filers, I filed with YSC and received a RFE this week, and it seems they are asking for three things. And based on the list they said they received from me in initial submission, it seems it is not a complete list of things I sent to them.
I am not sure if anyone else has received RFE recently? I really need some help and guidance here.
In RFE, they ask me to provide financial documents, which I provided our joint checking account statements before.
And asked for 2021 and 2022 tax returns and asked me to explain why we choose Married File Separately.
And provide proof that we live in the same address, which I provided driving license, and bank statements, and insurance before, and also our mortgage statement.
I am not sure what else I can provide to them?
I am planning to provide the following documents as a response to the RFE, any suggestion is much appreciated. Thank you.
1. 2021, 2022 tax return2. 2021,2022, 2023 bank statements - joint checking account3. 2021, 2022, 2023 mortgage statement - with both our names4. 2022, 2023 Geico Insurance ID card - with both our names5. 2021, 2022, 2023 - 1098 Mortgage Interest Statements6. Deed of Conveyance - (which I actually provided in initial submission)7. 2021, 2022, 2023 Washington Gas Monthly statements8. Flight tickets and boarding pass for multiple trips in 2021, 2022, 20239. Photos taken during the above Trips10. Affidavit from a close couple who grew up with my husband, and has known us before we get married.11. A letter explain why we file tax married separately. -

My online case status was updated yesterday to "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken". Package was received May 15th, so that's 68 days from receipt of the package. Not a huge deal in itself, but a welcome reminder that things are still moving at YSC.
Same here! My case is at YSC too and I got this notification yesterday as well.

Hi All.
There's a very strange thing that happened. USCIS mailed the I797 noa notice twice to me.
They are exactly the same, the only difference is that the noa date is 6/4 and the other is 6/11
Not sure if anyone encounter the same thing?

It's interesting because people who've been waiting for 20 months at Potomac are now getting the same update. We shall see.
I hope they can have shorter processing time. Haha, like way much much much shorter just like Texas center.

@CCCCCF LOL, it is difficult to count the number of Cs in your username when mentioning you. My status changed to "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken". It's Potomac YSC, though. It's movement, at least.
Cool!!!! Haha. Glad there's updates!

Biometrics waived. The case status updated on June 8th -about a month after they received my file- to show that fingerprints were taken, and I received the waiver in the mail today, June 14th (dated on the 8th).
May I ask if the status change online if biometrics is waived?

Yeah, good thing you filed the first one so early so there's plenty of time to wait. I read a case where that person waited more than one month and still didn't get it back, but had to file as the card was expiring in few days.
Yeah.... But I think most people don't make such a dumb mistake as I did. Haha, I totally forgot to sign on the form. Hope now things go well from here. Hope they cash my check soon. It is not reflecting in my bank account yet.

Oh...so how long did it take you to receive the initial package back? Or you didn't wait and sent out a new one?
Of course I waited to receive it and send out the second one... HAHA, I don't think it is a good idea to send out a new one without knowing the status of last one.
There must be something wrong if they send it back.
It took around 20 days to receive the initial package back, if calculate from the case was first delivered.

Hi your timeline shows it was delivered on May 5th, was that your prior application? Did you hear anything back about that one?
That was the last time when I filed. It was rejected because I forgot to sign.

Hi All,
Finally by grace of God, I have received text within a week of delivery and assigned MSC center. My check is also not showing on account, but I know TD bank is always late to shows the transactions.
Package Sent: 27th May (via USPS one day Priority mail)
Package Delivered: 28th May
Text Received: 5th June (MSC)
Haha, then we have the same date.
Mine delivered on 28th too and I received the text today as well!
2 hours ago, elmers said:Yes. Check takes additional day or two to clear plus it's the weekend.
Thank you! I will check on Monday and see if they cashed it.

hi everyone, I just got a text message with receipt number.
But I checked my bank account, no records for check.
Is this normal?

Any idea how we get updated if/when a transfer happens? I didn’t include the electronic notification form in my I-751 package, so am depending on the NOAs they send in the mail.
I have no idea. LOL. Let's see.

@CCCCCF, I do not know that is how it works. I understand that USCIS transfers cases from one center to another to balance workloads.
I was hoping with new president, we can expect a shorter processing timeline. At least we can hope to get back to normal life without covid so USCIS can also function normal.

@CCCCCF, our joint checking account shows a hold for $595 and $85. The checks have not cleared yet. I am thinking this happened early morning today and they will clear by Saturday, if not Monday.
Our package arrived on 5/7/21.
I see.
Thanks!
Hope they cash mine too next week. Haha.
