Congrats! If you don't mind me asking what evidence did they request from you? Asking b/c a lot of RFEs seem to be going out lately.
Thank you! The only thing they requested from us was a passport photo of my fiance (the US citizen.)

I'm hoping that he will be here by June. I want to have the wedding at my university in August - before the fall semester starts, so I hope it works out!
He sends me these beautiful wedding videos when he's feeling romantic and he doesn't realize it stresses me to no end because there is no way we'll have the time/money to pull any of that off!
Fingers crossed that you're able to have your August wedding! 😊
Aww, that's so sweet! But I know how you feel! With my fiancè, he seems pretty chilled that everything will work out. I'm the only one stressing out over NOA2 processing times etc!

We have planned our wedding in July..but looking at the speed at which the things are moving i might have to postpone it.
Been in a long distance relationship for 3 years now and i badly wanna get this over with!!
I know how you feel! The process is long and frustrating, but will be soo worth it in the end!
Yes, things seem to be going super slowly at the moment, but I'm glad they've started July cases now. Let's hope that things speed up from now on! 😊

My most optimistic guess would be mid-June, at this point. My realistic guess is sometime in July. This is based solely off my timeline, and the process at the UK Embassy.
My fiancé and I had planned for a late-May wedding. We've now moved our reception to September/October, and are planning on a courthouse wedding whenever he gets here. Planning anything for June or even July would be risky.
I have 2 other "real-life" friends going through the K-1 process as well, and everyone is simply planning to go to the courthouse to be legally married, and are going to plan a nice reception for later on. There are too many moving pieces to set anything in stone. I was lucky to be working with a venue that would allow me to move my date and not lose the money I have already paid. I wouldn't wish the added stress of hoping to complete this process before a set wedding date on anyone.
Right now, I'm also leaning towards changing my propsed wedding date to October. June seems unrealistic now and it's not worth the risk!
My process will also be with the UK embassy. I heard that things go much quicker when the case gets to London.. but we shall see.
You're right.. not being able to have a set date is incredibly stressful, so I understand why many go down the courthouse route.
That's great that your venue has allowed you to be flexible with the dates Good luck with it all

We had planned for our wedding around mid-August, but now we moved to mid-October. My family is flying over for the wedding and tickets are way cheaper for October than August.
I booked my one way ticket already (Sep 23!) so I hope to get my visa by August.
I'm thinking of moving my proposed wedding date to October too -- seems like a much safer option right now!
You're right, August is always such an expensive month for plane tickets. So I was hoping to avoid that month to keep prices down for guests. Yes, I think we will have our visas by August. Good luck with everything !

September filers.. if you were to hazard a guess at when the whole process would be done, what would you say?
I was hoping to plan my wedding for late june.. but seeing as the k1 visa process is slower now, I think that may be too early and a risky thing to do. When are you guys planning to get married?

Hi fellow k1'rs
I was thinking about requesting for an expedite on our petition but I don't know if I have any merit here. So here is my situation. Please give me advice and don't worry about telling me no because I am asking for advice
We're are into day 112 of our visa which isn't ideal but not terrible processing times. We have a son together who lives here in the US with me. Our son is 1 year old and I currently am trying to get him into daycare so that I can continue to work at my job full time. Daycare here in washington state cost a $2,000.00 a month. Currently I'm having family watch him but they will not be able to watch him much longer. After paying daycare I will be left with little money to just survive. I do make enough for my visa and for my aos. But if you took out the 24000 a year that daycare would take from me brings my yearly salary way down. Once my fiance gets here he will be able to take care of our son while I work until he is able to go to work himself and the cost of daycare split between the two of us would be a much lighter load. Do you think this is enough reason for an expedite? Or am I just SOL. Also yes my son is his. We've been doing the travelling back and forth even through pregnancy. What kind if documents would be good to give them if they asked for additional information. Also I cannot get state help for day care or anything like that because that would make me look like I cannot support the 3 of us.
Thanks in advance. I appreciate every response. Good or bad.
I think it's definitely worth a try, as your situation could fall under "financial loss." An expedite is very hard to get, but there is no harm done in requesting one, even if they reject it.

Hello from London! ☺
This wait for the NOA2 is tough. Do you think it's possible we could receive our NOA2s at the end of January or in February.. or is it likely to be later than that? Praying that we hear back soon!

Hi, I've been doing some research on the next steps so that I'm prepared! Regarding the medical exam, the UK embassy site says:
"Please do not schedule an appointment unless you have received your appointment letter from the National Visa Center or, if your application is being processed by the IV Unit, you have been advised that your case file has been received in the Immigrant Visa Unit, London."
I haven't heard of the IV Unit. I thought you were allowed to book a medical once you have the case number from NVC and the case is on 'ready'.. without having the hard copy confirmation letter? I'm not sure how long it takes for the letter to arrive to the non-US fiancee. Does anyone know about this? Thanks!
