Medical now expires every six months. I would hate for the medical to expire. So if you don’t hear back within the next two weeks ask ur congressman to inquire on your behalf. Was he asked to refill ds260 before his oath and was there any major change in his refilled form ?
His medical did expire. I didn’t contact a congressman this whole time our case has been in AP 18 months and our case has moved along just fine just Ap factor. Yes after the medical we got an email telling us before the reoath apt we need to fill out the ds260.

We’re you called for re oath and fingerprint? And if so, when ?
Yes my husband had a second medical and re-oath where they took his fingerprints again. They contacted us via email. It’s been almost 2 weeks since his reoath. They did not give us a time when his visa will be issued. Status still says AP throughout the process.

Does any one know how long after Reoath appointment visa will be issued?
-
I have seen a couple with same circumstances as yours that received a visa within 18 months. She was a green card holder and had a 1 year old child. I am a US citizen and am still waiting over 18 months for my husbands visa. So it does take time.

We have been waiting almost 18 months and I have not received a single update since Nov 2018!!! Only updates if I email them.

Has anyone’s DS260 reopened? I logged into ceac and notices DS260 was reopened and says needs updating. Is this normal? My husbands IR1 has been on AP over a year now since sending in DS5535. All the information that needs updating was basically on the DS5535 (wasn’t part of the original DS260 we filed in 2017).
My husbands has reopened. So I opened it and closed it without making any updates. Now it says incomplete. Emailed the embassy and they said there is no action required.

Hi, Did you also submit the documents (Supporting documents) after you resubmit the DS-260?

Submit an inquire to Kabul embassy via their online portal and ask to take care of DS-260 while on AP. If you already re-submitted DS-260 than discard my advice.

I'm just confused that since 2017 never once has our ds-260 reopened or have we been asked to update it.

1 year since interview is fast approaching and still on AP...
has anyone gotten any updates lately?
How often do you check your case on Ceac?
Contacted nvc they told me to email Embassy bc case is with them. In the past 14 months of AP I have checked the ceac website 3 times. It went from complete to reopened to incomplete. Is incomplete on the ds 260 mean that there's missing info or maybe to just update? Hopefully this means our case is almost finished 🙏

I'm not really clear on the process of updating the ds260. I have not updated ours since we filled it out in August of 2017. I know the embassy has to reopen it it does not open automatically but if you notice that it has changed I would contact the embassy before moving forward.

We haven't received an email to resubmit but when checking the ceac website it states that our case has been reopened because updates are required so we have to resubmit the forms.

Anyone have information on ds260 getting reopened or written as incomplete while being in AP for more than 1 year?
-
-
@HA&FA does it say AP still or something else?
-
Does the government shutdown have anything to do with delayed AP or delayed emails from embassy?
-
@NeHAZ16 they haven’t responded to my email either. In AP since March 2018
-
@NeHAZ16yes my husbands case is still in AP. We’ve got some updates but not finished with AP yet.
-
@Tariq784 Yes but that’s because I emailed them. How about yours?
-
@Zara7860 when I filed for my husband police certificates weren’t needed for Afghanistan. This website will tell you what’s needed specific to Afghanistan https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Afghanistan.html
Just to verify call nvc and ask them to check if it’s needed.
-
@Tariq784 Thank you! It is the worst. It’s going to be 2 years since we filed for CR1. By AP can’t be avoided we just have to wait and see which sucks to hear. Last update Sept 24.
-
@Tariq784 my husband had an interview in Kabul on March 2018 still the case is in AP. Another girl who had an interview same day as my husband got approved 60 days after interview.
-
@NilsaNAnil my husband had his interview on March 25, 2018 and is still in AP. There are some people on here also waiting over 1 year for visas stuck in AP.
-
@AP_kills omg 2 years!?!? Was your spouse a US citizen?
-
@NilsaAnil21 took my husband little over 2 months just to get an appointment letter. Still waiting for his visa
-
Does anyone know if I-864 Affidavit of support is needed for interview?
-
@SY Afghanistanany updates on your case?

Yes there’s new questions on it that weren’t on the old DS 260. It’s (ceac.state.gov) website that you have to login with case # & invoice id #. If it doesn’t open I would email them ASAP and ask them to direct you.
