Hi all, new here. I hope you are all well and safe

My US Citizen wife recently passed away. We have been legally married for over 3 years but always resided in the UK since marriage.

We had longer term plans of possibly moving to the US but had not filed anything at the time of her death.

I am a UK Citizen, 34 years old, with no criminal convictions.

Is it possible that I apply for a green card as the widower of a US Citizen?

Hello. are you done with your visa journey? I am also in the same case. now just waiting for interview appointment

I came to US with my United Kingdom Chartered Accountant qualification call Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)  close to US (CPA) and a MBA degree in Accounting and Finance.

It took me time and money to translate my UK qualifications to US standard.

However,  that been said, we all different.

Just just be ready for a smooth ride or difficult one before u settle in.

Thank you.. I am not also choosy for any jobs whether in retail/store as long as I have source of income in order to survive.

Accounts Payable is a entry level job in the accounting field. No degree needed for this position, with past work history in the field it would be an asset.  Depending on lifestyle, don't expect to get paid much in the USA doing Accounts Payable and even CPA's don't make much money in the USA.

Thank you. yes as long it is not below the minimum wage that would be fine at least not jobless. Moving in US as new immigrant will be more challenging especially at my case that im a widow.. still completing my immigration process.. I just want to be ready and getting some information about searching for jobs.

What's your qualification? I first have to convert your foreign qualifications to US standards

I finished business course then I got a chance work abroad for 8yrs. do u mean there is no chance i can work on the same field? although I am open for any work even not related to my current job if there is opportunities.

  6. Hey everyone. I am working in Saudi Arabia for 8yrs in accounting dept particularly in accounts payable. Ive also worked before in my home country in BPO Industry in the same field. It will be tough for sure applying for the same jobs in the U.S.

FYI- I am not a CPA. Anyone here got jobs particularly in accounts payable? how was your experience?.

    TIA

Sigh! You're right! What we can do right now is just hope that at least they'll start with the backlogs so we can move forward. I'll start on renewing some of my documents because it will expire soon.

yes.. but i hope some will received appointment this month for nextyr Interview. my police clearance from PH already expired. to be safe, I just apply for a renewal in consulate. a bit costly but its okay.. no choice coz it has to be updated during interview otherwise we will get 221g.

However, for nurses(sorry I keep on talking about them because most nurses they're cases get approved for expedite and they get interview faster than ours) but anyway, I guess we'll hear some good news for our cases

No worries they are on priority. but Islamad Pakistan already giving interviews for those who were DQ'd in April. i do not just understand why riyadh could not start for those who were dq in march-april. remember in september, they processed almost issued visa around 150for lottery. so what's the difference. no one knows exactly
