Thanks for the love and sympathy, it helps to talk about it! <3 So, check this out, I have been checking everyday for an INFOPASS appointment in my area, and there are absolutely no appointments available ever! lol Our congressmen is a republican, who are totally against immigration reform at this time moment, so I do not believe it will help. I did email the congressmen's office, never got a response. Then I decided that I should hand write a request, yet I figured that they may never respond. I also saw that the NBC service center has one star reviews, extremely bad reviews, and that is where our case is being processed so I do not know how beneficial it will be to contact NBC even. I guess its just the waiting came left now. I do not understand how our system is and it is unfortunate that the system can not even assist American citizens with legalizing their spouses.
You should contact the congressman. I'm also in Texas as well and even though they are Republican, they still have to look out for their constituents, many times it isn't even the congressman themselves handling your request but their local office. I actually had the same concern as well, but then after not hearing about any status, my wife and I figured, well what's the worst that could happen? They tell us that USCIS is still in process? Turns outs our first reply back from the congressman's office was that it was still being processed, but we were just happy that we at least had another party looking out for our case.
For my wife and I, contacting a senator was not very helpful since they seem to be slower in responding than my local House representative. For the House rep, I just called and they told me to have my wife email over a form and the next week I got some info, then a couple weeks later my wife's EAD was processed.
Have hope, and just ask the congressman since you won't really know what their response will be unless you ask. After all, you have 3 in Texas that represent you, if one doesn't help out there are 2 others that might.

Oh hmm so it does. Yet it says "updated Jan 5" at the bottom. I'm throwing my hands up. I have no damn clue. I really wish we had one of those memory flash things from the Men in Black movies that wipe your memory so I can wipe mine of this whole thing.
Yeah that's kind of the strange thing... If I recall correctly, the processing times page actually used to say As of September 31st it was processing September then went back to July, then I think recently is when it bumped to October 31. So the As of date is moving forward, but the processing date is going backwards?

I have also noticed that their processing times have changed. The NBC is listed as processing cases from June/July 2017 for EAD/AP?!
Yep, noticed that as well... I think before Dec 26th it was July 11th or something. Prior to Early December it was something like September was being processed. Now I believe its June 30. Not sure what is causing the date to go back. I guess just proof that it isn't just us that is experiencing delays, something is really going on over there.

Hi Cynthia,
Thank you for your follow up email and Happy New Year.
I was just getting ready to email you with the update we received from USCIS on December 27, 2017. I just returned to the office from the holiday break going through my emails. Below is the update we received from USCIS:
***
Re:
Name: Cynthia ***********
Receipt Number: ***********, ************
Form: I-485, I-765
Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter. We have requested the files and they will be reviewed by an officer. Your constituent should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly.Re:
Name: H
Receipt Number
Form: I-130
Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter. A review confirms this case was received on 08/07/2017 and is currently pending within normal processing. This case will be adjudicated alongside the beneficiary’s Adjustment of Status application.
***We will follow up again with USCIS in 30 days.
Thank you,
Bianca Castro, MSW
Constituent Affairs and Community Liaison
Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (AZ-09).**** ALL OF THOSE WHO STILL WAITING SHOULD CONTACT YOUR LOCAL CONGRESSMAN AT LEAST YOU WILL HAVE AN UPDATE ****
Similar scenario here, we contacted our congressman sometime last week and the first response from USCIS wasn't all that great. It basically said "Our records show that this case is pending at the National Benefits Center (NBC). The NBC processing cases of this type as of June 30, 2017." and that our case was after that date.
Ended up getting an email earlier today from our congressman with an update from USCIS saying "Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter. This case is currently under review with an officer. Your constituent should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly. "
I'm curious how long "shortly" is, but at least its some update after months of silence .

Hello everyone. Does anyone know how to check the status of a service request? The email we received when we submitted it said that a reply should be received by today but we haven't received anything. I went to the USCIS website but the number they sent us is coming back invalid. Just want to see if they have touched it yet.
Thanks in advance!
Not sure if this is the correct way, but I was only able to find out when I created an account on USCIS then added all the receipts. Afterwards, from the "My Cases" page, if I click on the case corresponding to the 765, I see on the bottom of the page "Next Steps" and in that section it tells me that I filed an SR but it has not been assigned.

Hi all,
I'm an August filer for my husband. We're at day 100 today and I sent the SR on day 90 and still nothing... I was really hoping we'd hear something last week or even by this week. I even go straight to check the mail and no news I got my hopes up when I saw that folks were getting their combo card in the mail without any change online.
Just wondering for those who haven't received their EAD/AP yet...what day are you guys on in waiting? And anyone else here filed in Chicago that may have received their combo card? And my last question...for those who have sent a SR, did USCIS actually respond to you by the date they said "expect a reply by" w/e date?
Thanks! and sending good vibes to everyone...this waiting game is no fun.
Same, we're waiting for some news. I raised an SR back in early Nov. it still hasn't been assigned. We are at around the same time and currently at 101 days.

Hi all!
Just wanted to update the thread here. My wife and I had our interview!
We got there early, super early (over an hour) since the office we needed to our interview in was a neighboring city. Checked in and waited, and about 5 minutes after our scheduled time we were called to go in.
Once we sat down the officer asked for all our documentation, birth certificates, passports, etc. We were sworn in and then he asked for supporting documentation which for us was joint accounts, birthday and anniversary cards my wife and I sent to each other, house deed, last apartment lease, car title, cell phone bill, insurance for various things, receipts, etc. In hindsight, my wife was probably right that we had went way overboard in evidence.
We never were separated in the room and really the only questions that were asked us outside of the forms were "How did we meet and where?". After going through all the documentation we realized he never went through our pictures. We asked him if he wanted to see them, he said he didn't really have to since we had more than enough proof, but he decided to just go ahead and add a couple pictures. So he flipped through them and chose some and we added commentary as he looked through them.
After going through all the supporting documents, the officer went through the forms making sure that we could answer things.
Overall by the end of the interview, the officer stated that our case was one of the cleanest he's seen in awhile, and that the amount of evidence we had was very impressive. We were approved at the interview, though the officer did say there was a review team that had to just do some double checking before we could be 100% approved. By the end of the day, the status had changed to interview was complete and further review was needed, and the next day the I-485 related receipt number switched to new card being produced. (The I-130 related receipt didn't update not sure why.) My wife ended up getting her green card the following week.
My tip for people going to the interview, don't be too nervous! Definitely bring as much evidence as you can, if it has both of your names on it then bring it.
Make sure to always bring copies! This makes it much easier for the officer to just pick things out without the risk of them having to go make a copy of evidence. I literally went through all the cards and photocopied all of them.
Anyways I've been a follower of the August thread for awhile. I thank everyone for sharing their experiences, it does help to know that we weren't the only ones also waiting. I'll still lurk around here and probably update when we have to remove conditions.
For all those that are waiting, hang in there!
