Hi guys, first i would like to apologize if there is already a topic with the same question i got (newbie here)

So, after exacts 2 months of submitting all required docs to NVC  ( CR1 ) i finally got a message from them on my email saying (The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.  NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in RIO DE JANEIRO, BRZL to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable). )

BUT, on the ceac website i received 2 messages from them at the same time i got the email, one saying that ( all required applicant documents have been received and approved )  and another saying ( Case document Review Note,  BRAZIL requires more than one police certificate. Please submit the missing BRAZIL STATE police certificate. Please use our Document Finder at  https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines. )

This is where im confused, all documents are showing as ACCEPTED, including my wifes police certificates. So im not sure what to do now since i cant get a hold of NVC through phone ( no one picks up )

Has anyone gone through this? b

We had to do the police certificate again as well.  It is very easy.  Go to Antecedentes Criminais — Polícia Federal  put the information again and print out the results.  Bring your result to the interview.

What to do when the police department does not want to make police reports available, has been difficult to get others and they have not given certified copies, only made a statement stating that my fiance has requested the police reports in Salem police department. But two reports were missing, they reported that these two reports could not be made available. One of these reports is the most important because it was the report of domestic violence made by his ex wife.

The records are not sealed, or extinct, they just inform that they cannot make available

Anyone here from Boston MA, who knows another way to do this?

Or even if it's not from Boston MA, could it give us any Light?

    Thanks

Hello.  I'm from Lynn, MA and the same thing happened to me in Lynn District Court.  My lawyer placed a call to the Police dept and the court house and after that I was able to obtain certified copies of the report.   Did you speak to the city clerk of Salem Court house?

I am 98% sure that once she goes to the interview there is no way to change that anymore. In fact she can check that through the CASV website which is where she selected the pick up option. Like I said, I dont believe she can do that anymore.

I`m not sure where she is from in Brazil but since I`m from there I know how post service or mailing service whatever you want to call works....thats bad and that is why I choose to pick it up in one of their offices...it worked pretty well.

    Good luck

I agree with you.  Once you have your interview I'm pretty sure you can not change it.  I do know, a friend of ours put the incorrect address and didn't know it until a couple of weeks past when he didn't receive his packet.  His lawyer found out that the embassy attempted delivery but it was the wrong address. So he had to go back to the embassy and correct the address.  This was all in Brazil.

I guess it depends on your definition of "quickly".  My wife entered the US on June 22, 2017.  She received her Green Card in the mail on July 15th, 2017.  I think that was pretty fast.  I'm not really familiar with how fast Green Cards are arriving this year.

    That i think was quick.

I just tracked our green card and the USCIS mailed it out today.

    Thank you!

Hello @ChristineA, yeah I believe that info will help a lot of people who will be getting their medical done in Rio, which I might do myself depending on where I am by the end of the process.

Couple of things I would like to ask you:

    - So he had his bloodwork and urine test done on on the 20th and you guys already had the results in by the 23rd, which is when you picked up the packet? I'm just asking this because in Belo Horizonte is seems to take 5 business days to be done.

    - Do you or he remember how the medical exam went? That is, what did the doctor ask him during the medical and what did he actually exam him for?

    - You said his interview was on the 28th, was his visa a spouse visa? Im just asking because mine is a fiancé visa and I believe fiancé visa interviews are on Tuesdays, but I'm not yet sure.

But thanks again for the info!

Best of luck to you two!

All test went directly to the doctor.  About 2 days.  The doctor ask my hubby if he was ever was in jail, had surgery, and other  medical questions. It was fairly quick.

    Our visa was a spouse.

  6. Hello.  So our medical appointment and  X-ray was on the 21 of March.  But the day before we went to get blood drawn in the same building as the doctor, which if I remember correctly was on the 16th floor. After that we went to do the urine test. The location of this place from the doctors building was a few blocks away.  You must  no pee for 2 hours before giving sample.  The next day we went to do the X-ray in one location ( not far from doctors office) and later in the afternoon we went doctors appointment. The doctor determined my hubby needed only 2 vaccines and sent us to the 2nd floor of the same building. ( it would help if you have your vaccinations card).  After that the doctor told us to come back in 2 days to pick up packet to bring to the interview.  (Please do not open).  On 28th of March at 8:00 am was the interview, we arrived early to avoid a long line.  There is a gentleman that stands outside to check you in.   You go up to the second floor and they will hand you two pieces of paper, where you put your paperwork in order and fill out another.  They will call you in order of who was done with the paperwork first.  Someone calls your name make sure your paperwork is all in order and then they call you again for the interview.  During the interview they asked a couple of questions and told us that the  visa was approved.  Below is a list of addresses and how much we paid for each exam .

blood work- Diagnósticos da America-Lamine Med av. Ataulto de Paiva 135 Leblon ( name of building is Cidade de Leblon) R$44.00

urine test-  Richet  av. das Americas 4801 loja D. R$262.15

vaccine and doctors appointment was in same building as the blood work.

X-ray-  Cavallieri. rua Carlos Góis 375 Leblon R$170.00.

    doctor appt R$600.00

I would recommend staying near the area of your exams as everything is close to each other. You will most likely only need to go to the US Embassy once.  The hotel I stayed at was named Mar Ipanema Hotel on Rua visconde de piraja 539.  Hotel was great!  Wish you the best.  Hope this helps..

    Hello all,

I'm starting this topic so everyone can share their experiences with the medical exam in Brazil.

I believe that it would be helpful if we shared how the medical interview went, the exams that were done and pricing, the questions that were asked, the time it took to get everything done, the physician we went to, if they were friendly or Stern and any other helpful information.

I believe it will give insight of the medical process that changes every year. That we can know how much to pay, how to plan for our trip to the medical, the process done by each physician and how long it takes and etc.

    Good luck everyone,

Hello,  I will be able to help after  March 28 as our interview and exam's are schedule next week in Rio.  I will give our experience from beginning and end.  Pray for us!  Thank you!

NVC has sent our petition to the Embassy/Consulate in Rio De Janeiro, which is the only location in Brazil that processes K1 visas.  Currently our status on the CEAC website says 'In Transit'.  NVC emailed us that our case was being sent 4 days ago.  My question is:  "Does anyone know the approximate timeline from NVC (In Transit) to when the Consultate will email us the information we need to schedule our interview?"  We completed our DS-160 online 2 days ago.  Just looking for an approximation, as we have held off everything with the wedding until we knew when we would be closer to getting her Visa.

This site, and its members, have been an incredible lifeline throughout this long process.  I can't thank everyone enough for the information they've shared up to this point.

Hello!  You should hear any day now.  You can call the NVC and they will tell you when the interview is schedule for.  That's what I did and then i received via email and mail the letter of schedule interview a couple of days later.  We just finished purchasing our plane tickets and booked our hotel.  Good luck!

Congratulations, you should receive the confirmation email soon, do not wait for a letter, this may not happen. Once you receive the email, contact the doctor and schedule a time, be sure to send all the necessary documents, everything will be fine, congratulations again

Thank you!  I appreciate your help.  When you had your medical appointment in Rio, how many times did you need to go back to see the doctor?  Did you have to go to other places to do the blood work, xrays, etc?  We are trying to determine how many days before the interview should make the appointment for and or arrive in Rio.

I did get the vaccine to be safe, but in all my trips to Brazil, I have never been asked to show proof. I was just there in June and July.

    Have a good trip!

Thank you.  Right now i am having trouble finding a place here in florida (in my area)that has the yellow fever vaccine.  One place (Passport Health) wants to charge over $300 per person.
