was he told the tatto was the reason why he was gonna be under ap?

No, initially he was given a white paper with no notification or request of additional documents.  We found out it was due to tattoos after my senator at my request after 60 days of AP made an inquiry to our case and the Embassy responded that it was for tattoos.

  2. ****A summary of my experience with AP due to Tattoos***

Based on this thread and all the similarities Tattoos are under investigation for the applicants in the U.S. Embassy specially for those of us in Honduras.  I speak of Honduras because that is where our case was processed.  My husband was under AP for Tattoos for 3 1/2 months.  The reason we were able to confirm that hus AP was for tattoos is because after 60 days I wrote to my Senator asking for help, the U.S. Embassy in Honduras replied to my senator stating that the reason was because of his tattoos.

The embassy called my husband for a second interview and they focused on his tattoos, all of the questions were about the meaning of his tattoos, the thought behind his tattoos, any sentimental values and the places where he did them.  They made him go to a room and re-took picture of his tattoos (the doctor during the physical took pictures and the Embassy Agent that interviewed him also took pictures during his 1st interview)

After the second interview they told my husband that in two weeks they were going to be calling him.  Just like, that in two weeks his case was updated on the CEA website and it took one week for him to collect his passport.

I know that the uncertainty can drive us crazy, our emotions at an all time high.  If you have an explanation of your tattoos and the tattoos are not gang affiliated there's nothing to worry about.

Best of luck to everyone may you all achieve the American Dream!

    Best,

Today my husband's status changed to issued.  Do you know about how long it will take not to receive the visa? What is the next step after issued?

    Hello, it took two weeks.

But verify daily as all embassies are different.

Hi Alexandra08, my husband went today for the 2nd interview. They asked him questions about the tattoo and said they will call him.  Thats all they said to him.

On that day of your husband interview did they tell him anything like that.

    Im desperate. Thank you

Yes they did, they said we will call you.

Go check the status of the visa on the cea website daily, and also check the email in which the Visa Center US Travel Docs, they will email you letting you know that the passport is ready for pick up at Cargo Express.   It took 2 weeks for this to happen.

Im going to contact one of my senators.

Thanks for the information, i also think my husbands is under AP because of a tattoo he has on his left arm, becausr the day of the interview they took a picture of it. Its a big skull. I pray to God everyday,

    Thank you so much.

It can be the tattoo, in Honduras the embassy has a database of Tattoos that have been linked to gang members, criminals and crime scenes they are conducting a thorough background.

Hi, nothing yet, tomorrow would be 60 days already. The lawyer will call the embassy the day after,  its really sad, my son and I , miss him so much specially these days of christmas. We cant even go visit him, because of the situation in honduras.

    Thanks for asking.

Have you contacted your Senators?  I contacted all 3 of our Senators and one of them responded. of course you have to write complete the contact form the senators have on their websites.  The Senators can contact the Department of State after 60 days you are right in that time frame I would give it a try.  That's how we found out that my husbands AP was because of his Tattoos.  I hear you, my husband had to leave the house early to make sure he had access to the road that takes them to the airport in San Pedro.  I pray that all goes in your favor and your husband will be reunited with you and your son.

  7. They are conducting an administrative review of the police record, the review can take days, weeks or months.  My husband had his visa interview on 08/28 his CEA status said REFUSED, he had a second interview for "TATTOOS" on 11/10  as the consul is verifying if his tattoos are gang related, and the new Status on the website says administrative processing.  I have been told that if the Consul keeps your documents it is a good sign, just be patient and wait.  I do hope that they move fast, my petition is a clean one we have two children and we have been on AP for 3 months!  Good luck!
